Betting is not a show of passion for sports, it is a business and not all people that are involved in sports bet. Although there are people who bet just to show their support for their team, they do this with friends and sometimes for social media engagement so that people know they support their team and have confidence in them which is why they bet them even if they are playing a stronger team. Apart from this scenario,  majority if people who bet are motivated by money and the few that say they bet for fun are generally not being honest unless for the first case I described.

I don't think that betting is done because of the passion gamblers have for the game. I have seen gamblers who bet and don't care about watching the game, all they're after is who wins the game. Profit is the major reason why gamblers bet on a match even though, some claim they do it for fun.

However, a gambler can choose to stake a little amount on a sport he's passionate on in order for him to enjoy the fun to the highest level once in a while. If he does it consistently, he is not staking because of the passion he has for the sport. On the other hand, you cannot be very comfortable betting on a sport you don't love.

Yes, even though a gambler starts gambling for entertainment, after winning the bet, he gradually hopes to earn more money from gambling in addition to entertainment. And when a gambler starts gambling in the hope of earning money, as a result, the gambler's emotions or greed work more, the risk of losing money by gambling due to emotions or greed doubles, along with losing self-control over himself, due to which a gambler cannot consistently conduct gambling according to the correct rules. Gambling in the hope of making quick money arouses more emotions and people.

We have passion for sports and also have it for gambling and that is why we choose to play bets, we mostly have passion for betting and that is why we play games in gambling, but sometimes, we can't also denied if some of these were being influenced by the opportunities we stand to get from gambling, but on a general approach, it's so entertaining to play and watch sports and also bet on matches, all because we want all to be a complete entertainment to us as while gambling.

Exactly and this is why op seems not to understand, a man's food can be another man's poison, the fact he see betting on sports as a business shows the type of mentality he has towards gambling in general, and I pray he doesn't end up as a gambler with this type of mentality else, he may likely regret it..

Treating gambling as a business is one of the worst things to do as a gambler, well, I know there are those who call themselves professionals gamblers but one question I've always asked is, how close have any of us gotten to such people to ascertain for sure that they survive on nothing else but gambling?
There are no real professional gamblers because it will be a big mistake to take up gambling as a profession.

And check out those that have passion for sports and their gambling rate. Betting is a show of passion in sports. People can express their passion in various ways. If I am supporting a particular team, I should be able to place my money on them to show that I truly believe in them. Your betting in those sports is what will really show you have passion for it. Reading this topic and subject reminds me of a cousin who got involved in gambling and specifically sport betting, after he heard about a story of someone who won a big combined bet. This cousin who wasn't interested in football became very addicted in following multiple leagues. So simply what you were talking about is true, many people can become interested in gambling and betting due to business mentality, wanting to earn money and not bet for fun.

Betting can be a little different than just a passion, the fact that some people are making good gains with a hobby and fun activity. Followed by other who are trying to just get that gain even though they are not interested in football or any other sport.

Each gambler has their own objective for signing up to a site, some might do it because they want to engage in something with their free time, while others do it because they are looking for a way to earn quick money or double the little one they have at hand. So for those in the first category, it’s possible for them to actually gamble simply because of “passion” and it’s also important to note that they’re are only a few of them that genuinely do it for the sake of passion only.

Those who go there for monetary reasons only will rarely gamble because of passion, they are the type that will treat it as business and do everything possible to make sure that they are winning, they don’t just bet randomly or on instincts (some do though), majority of gamblers fall under this category and that’s why you think gamblers can’t gamble because of their passion for the sport.

Passion is that strong desire to achieve or own something. and to achieve that, it must involves taking risk. either necessary or unnecessary risk. And I guess gambling fall to the category of unnecessary risk because it involves a high risk with no guarantee or possibility of return. I think everyone has their own reasons why they are gambling, but what I would say is that betting is just a business for those who are in charge of it (like the owners and it's workers), but when it comes to the gamblers, there's no way it should be considered as an investment or business because it is not in your power to get what you are expecting from it.
Talking about passion and betting, what I will say is that if you do not have interest on something there's no way you will even think of putting money into it, so you see, if you are passionate about something you might also want to risk your money too.

And even if you are a true fanatic then cheering for the team, vising the venue, buying their merchandise and anything that brings benefits to the sport and the team but we bet and it doesn't benefit the sport in anyway but to us and to the casino.

That benefits the casino more than us as bettors, right?   The casino is a business and we are just being blackmailed into betting large amounts with a pattern of passion for sports betting.

Even I myself support my favorite team, rarely buy merchandise, never come to the stadium, but for a bet I am willing to choose another team that is superior to my own favorite team, because honestly I see the money and benefits.

To me passion or passionate doesn't mean that your money won't involve into it.. I disagree with you on the term of winning money to be regarded as business; in business you don't win money, you make money or earn money. Winning money has to do with luck, which is why it's the best term suitable for gambling; we put in money to get entertained and hope that that probability gives us something in return. Firstly every user's perception of gambling actually depends on why they gamble and how seriously they take betting. A user can arguably claim to bet for fun but that doesn't really mean there's no passion involved it might mean he's probably doing it to have fun and earn along the way.
