There are somethings about AFCON that would make you feel like the entire thing is just rigged, some people judge based on sentiments because their country seemed to be mistreated. just like the case about how Nigerians felt about the judgement and decisions made by the referee during their match against morroco. in things like this we must always learn to make use logic over emotions

For me I feel the Morocco played more than Nigeria on that match and it felt like the referee was against Nigeria. I saw some infridement against Morocco that the referee also allowed play to go on. The point is Morocco was all out and seriously going for the ball while Nigeria was on the defensive. Nigerians should not be sentimental on that match. Morocco played harder and better while the Nigerian team tried but failed to punish Morocco during the penalty kicks for failing to win the match on regular time.

However, I feel that Africa can stop some of this pressure that host countries have to host and win.

From what I watched, Senegal’s players didn’t accept the referee’s decision, walked off the pitch, came back, then left again, and only returned once it was clear the penalty would stand. After that, the goalkeeper seemed to add fuel to the situation, and things got even more chaotic. I also saw some supporters trying to get closer to the pitch, which could have turned really ugly… luckily, the organizers were ready and managed to keep order (In football, such things need to stop, and FIFA has to punish all who dont comply with the rules, even big teams and players, because if this continues, no one will keep watching it)

I was watching the game with some friends and that behavior from Senegal like kindergarten children was really not a good one. The problem though, the biggest of problems was with the person hitting that penalty, what he was thinking, trying to emulate Totti's panenka style of penalty which resulted in a very poor execution from the player. Next thing you know Senegal scores a goal and wins the trophy which is of course well contested for the simple reason that if some players leave the field and go to wash rooms then the entity, in this case FIFA should end the game in the favor of the other team. I think the reason why FIFA didn't do anything was because not all players of Senegal went to wash rooms, if all the team had gone, then is an automatic 3-0 lose for the team conducting in such behavior.

What I would do is this: refs should not be partial when judging because that is what triggers such reactions from the players, and that is very dangerous as ot likely leads to protests right inside the stadium as the match is going on live. I think Brahim Diaz is the one person I wouldn't want to be in the past 24 hours, it was a terrible thing for him to miss and with a Panenka at a very important penalty like that, it was a terrible way to miss. If their goal counted, then I would say penalty wouldn't have hurt that much. Glad they stayed and Mane made them comeback, because their win is so much better now.

You didn't read what I said well maybe, because I was saying (if) a match is inconclusive....that it will be postponed and sometimes bettors get that match excluded from their game and get paid the rest winning. As the host of a major tournament as the AFCON, seeing your team get to the finals should basically trigger something and that is the fact that you need to be prepared for reaction from your fans, players as well as the opponent team knowing fully well that there is an high chance that regardless of the way the game ends, chances are high that people wont accept it easily. Thank God that they were able to curtail the occurrence from getting out of hands if not, the host nation would have suffered more because should anything harsh happen to the Senegal's fans and players, the country risk being banned. it is nothing like a scandal, this is football, at some point, things gets emotional and fans are something seen reacting in an harsh manner.

This is not the first time we have seen chaos in a game of football. A similar thing happened in the AFCON when Pitso Mosimane was the coach of the Senegalese national team.

The thing I understand from that game is that the referees throughout the competition have been unfair. I dont care what their agenda is, but it was bad refereeing. Also, what the Senegalese team did was understandable, because it would have been a robbery if, after they scored a goal that was cancelled, which was supposed to be a goal, they now had to concede a penalty that wasn't supposed to be a penalty.

Yeah, and I do hope they will find a way to fix this. Not just the game/league, but also the sports bookies. If ever a game comes to a close without even ending the regulation, then it should be voided and the money given back to the gamblers.
I don't know if they are paying for adding the game to their sports betting lists, but that's the very least they can do to keep their customers. It is not surprising that such things can happen in any match. It is indeed unfair from our perspective as bettors of the disadvantaged team, but it can happen and we need to accept it as a risk when we bet. Therefore, we bet according to our means, so that when something like this happens, the losses we experience remain within acceptable limits and do not disrupt our finances.

What happened in that AFCON final has happened before from my findings. Just that the full details was not disclosed to the public and that was the fact that the players walked out siting security concerns as there were spectators already throwing things at the players and preparing to invade. The whole thing happened so fast and coincided with the time of the penalty which was seen as the reason for the walk out. I think FIFA should spend more money on awareness campaign so that people will know that football is a game of unity and love and not war.
