Can setting a goal makes us successful while gambling? No because gambling is not something we can rely on heavily since the house edge still remains the same there is no amount of gambling goals a gambler would have can easily guarantee you winnings rather it will still result to more losses and addiction if you don't mind yourself and gamble responsibly. Last year, when I was just starting my journey in betting, I made too many mistakes. One of the biggest mistakes was that I once decided to go all in. I lost that bet, and it was a significant loss for me. After that I started betting more disciplined and gradually began to recover my losses. By the end of the year, I had almost broken even, and my goal for this year is to fully recover my losses. If I keep betting the same way I did throughout the entire second half of the year, I think it’s possible for me to even double my deposit. In other words, my goal is quite modest to recover, break even, and double my deposit.

I don't have a goal that leads to gambling itself, but rather I have a goal to change myself. In this year, which can still be considered a new year, I am only trying to become a better version of myself in terms of gambling. For example, I used to gamble frequently, but now I will start to reduce it. I don't have any new gambling goals, such as wanting to learn about or understand other types of gambling that I don't know yet, because the gambling that I already know is enough for me.

We are almost done with the first month of 2026! Nearly 3/4ths of the way through the month and I am curious to know if anyone had any gambling goals for this year. Have you stuck to your goals so far or have you slipped yet? I think this goes without saying but lets all be as encouraging as we can here and respectful towards one another and their goals. You could have a goal to not gamble as much, maybe to not gamble at all. Maybe you have a goal to gamble more often? lol Who knows! Everyone has goals, but not everyone talks about them so openly so I think we ought to get a decent turn out here.

I will kick us off, my gambling goal for this year is to pick 2 sports that I really like and make a concious effort to study them & the statistics of the teams/ sports and do more sports betting this year. My goal is to be strategic and make educated decisions after studying the players, leauges, games etc. I also have a goal to go to the hardrock at least one time with my buddies for a little fun playing poker!

Gambling doesn't take up such a big place in my life that I set goals here (especially long-term ones like a year).
I think I'll be satisfied if I win a multiplier of x100+ at least once or twice on betting, which I've managed to do in previous years, and end the year in the black (symbolic, but still not in the red).
As for the new stuff, I'd like to try Polymarket. It seems like there are various niches there that aren't yet effective enough, and there's potential for profit. But for now, I'm either too lazy or too short on time to study the platform, which is absolutely essential before getting started because nuances matter, and to be profitable, you need to understand what you're doing better than 99% of the other users.

Hmmm, I don't really have a goal TBH, but I guess my target goal is to just limit the amount of money that I'll be spending towards gambling. Limit that amount to something that I'm okay if I'm losing it because TBH, losing is the one thing that every gambler is having a hard time to accept that's why some of them are even making rash decisions here and there just to recover the money. Sometimes, just accepting your losses is the better way because it will limit your losses, and that's what I will be doing just like what I'm always doing in the past.

More of a "Do it again" kind of thing. That's my gambling goal right now. I'm thinking of participating into some poker events as well, but right now, I don't have any time to learn it or watch some tips and tricks on how to win on it.

My gambling goals?. I think it should be personal, just like most people will say different things some person will discouraged . And I will only think what will work for for me. Not what will work for me will as well work for you.

Definitely everyone has what matters most to them and what also works for them but this one is based on the goal you have actually set for yourself regarding your journey in gambling this year. Players can have common goals but not everyone will have the same goal. You goal can also be same with what you did last year in gambling, it's just about what you want and what you want to do differently.

I think this should be the most important gambling goal that anyone should plan to have in this New Year, If you were a responsible gambler from last year, your plan should be to remain a responsible gambler this year and not become reckless, And if you are a reckless gambler in the previous years, your goal in this 2026 should be to gamble more responsibly and practice safer gambling habits.

I really want to reduce my gambling activity this year. Gambling is fun, especially if we can make a profit, but we know it's hard to stop, and it disrupted my priorities enough last year that I felt the need to cut back. Gambling shouldn't interfere with other activities, especially if they're important. Gambling should be done when you're truly free.

As always, I am ready to always protect people who want to be protected from irresponsible gambling, I grow up seeing too many people ruined their lives, some commited suicide because they can't stand the loses. Some are still trying to find their way back to where they began and it's not working because things aren't the same as before.

I plan to stay a responsible gambler for the rest of the year and also never get too attached to gambling, I only gambles when I feel like, there is no a must in my book when it comes to gambling, let's say I failed to make some money for the week in my business or I just can't afford gambling then I will wait till another time, maybe a week later.

This year I have a bit more responsibility. So I have reduced my gambling budget but I have decided to bet smaller amounts. And I will increase my betting areas. I used to bet mostly on football matches based on the country which were not played frequently. But now I have thought about betting on other sports besides football. I have thought about betting on UFC games regularly . But at the beginning of every year I have one goal in mind  to bet more responsibly.

That is very wise of you to consider your responsibilities and adjust accordingly, its not always an easy thing to do. In fact it is a very hard thing to maje these adjustments sometimes. Good on ya m8 for showing fiscal responsibility and restraint! And its also good to consider other bets that you can break into if you're had good intuition there

I had no idea people set gambling goals,except the ones that's signifies gambling responsibly, I'm in support of it.Every gambler needs to be committed with their gambling standards and  initiatives especially for accountability sake.Whoever understands the effort around Its  has high chances of winning gambling I mean reputably.Its high time gamblers take this seriously to,but for me I wouldn't call it "goal," but  "healthy gambling boundaries."The terms and efforts you make will be different.

This is a very good sign that you will try to stop yourself from betting frequently. If you can do this, you will never go to the stage of addiction. Even if someone wants to stay away from gambling for a long time, they can do it if someone like you can stop betting frequently and try to bet with a gap for a few days. However, this year I have tried to take myself to the stage of betting more responsibly. I am not addicted yet. This makes me feel very good. Because I can stop betting anytime I want and stay away for a long time.

I think less time should be given to gambling and people should look for things that would keep them busy so they don't often visit gambling sites and probably get addicted cause of the lengthy time they spend gambling, it can be very addictive and the longer one stays doing it the higher the chances of becoming addicted to it. It's not something that guarantees success so there no point overdoing it.

I have exactly the same philosophy. I play for the sake of the game itself, with bets, and if I manage to win a little, that's good, and if I lose, it's no big deal. I've never set myself a goal, and I'm unlikely to do so. If I ever manage to hit the jackpot, that's great, but I don't really believe it will happen.
