I think NitrogenSports. I remember winning over $1,000 there before, but in the end it still turned out to be a scam. They even changed names a few times, but the community is already aware of what they’re doing, and that bad reputation never really went away.

I don’t know the exact reason behind it, but a lot of old casinos eventually ended up as scams.
What’s surprising is that this one is still operating up to now.

Well, I miss some of the old casinos, but I couldn't remember them right now. They were the only ones that had some unique games that don't exist today.
I like the RPG one where you can gamble anywhere on the open world. Anyone remember the Dragon Tales MMORPG casino? Their games are most fun, and the good part is you can get free Bitcoin of around 0.1 BTC from the statues and free coins from the water given from the tour guide. Early players on this game could get 1 BTC per statue, and you could be able to withdraw them without wagering something. I win huge there and also withdraw their free BTCs from statues, but the fun fact is I never hold the BTC but invest again in cloud mining that turns out to be a scam at the end.

However, those experiences from Dragon Tales are fun, and I miss them.

I remember the old physical casinos. Those were the days.

You could go inside any casino in las vegas and start gambling. You did not need to first "charge" your account and then go play on a digital screen the very same way you would anyway if you were home in front of your computer/phone/whatever device. Slots were fun. Just put in some loose change and go to town.

Nowadays it is all sterile. I am surprised they still allow alcohol in a casino (this is probably going to change).

We might actually be thinking that those old casinos faded just because of technology that is not meeting up the modernity of now, it could still be as due to poor management and the breach of trusts issues which is why it is necessary to do thorough research before choosing a casino While poor services for players conveniences is also a potential threat that can throw those casinos overboard.
So many of them were also shutdown due to illegal indulgences and so on.

The mention of great platforms tends to instill the idea of nostalgia over a period when people could so easily bond with each other and that community was that natural. You are correct that a lot of excellent platforms have vanished since they did not remain abreast with such a fast rate of technological innovation. Trust erosion of players is also a major ignition point that causes us to gradually dump any legacy site that is no longer able to keep its integrity.

Well this isn't a shill but real, check coinroyale. It's one of the oldest casinos we've got in the community and founded in 2013 if I recall correctly.

I've got other casinos where I've played but never won significant huge amount of money from them. Like bitdice, directbet and the others and I think for the former it's about the management but others are probably just due to financial problem.

I miss them, for three main reasons: nostalgia, bankroll investment and giveaways. They were mostly simple dice platforms, and I think they disappeared exactly for that reason. The industry evolved since then. Businesses in order to remain popular on this niche had to adapt themselves, introducing new games and categories, while also going mainstream through their advertisements. The ones who kept simple and clean vanished away in the history of crypto industry.

I can say it's Bitvest. I seldom played there, but I once participated in their signature campaigns. It's probably one of the longest campaigns and one of the first casinos that launched their signature campaign here.
It was due to COVID that the developer stopped appearing on Bitcointalk, and as a result, payment was delayed for up to one month. They made a return but couldn't hold on because of the developer's health condition

They were simply outgrown by the newer ones, due to the varieties of available games as traditional casinos only focuses on one game or sometimes more but only 2-5 games available. Unlike newer ones with the availability of sports betting.
Until the mentality of gamblers change like, "licensed casinos are more trustworthy due to their license" so many got blinded on that more gamblers choose licensed casinos instead of traditional ones.

Well, I miss some online casinos due to its privileges and bonuses but their interface and QOL were terrible.

To give you an actual example, I remember playing blackjack at this online casino where it was so difficult to navigate and know your way around the website. The interface was terrible; lots of bugs that frequently happened; and there was a massive delay on withdrawals. However, their bonuses were very generous to the point that it will negate all the negative aspect of it.

The reason on why I prefer modern online casinos is because they have learned the mistakes of the past casinos. They have also upgraded their website, have their respective mascot which makes it unique; and an active customer support agent.

I certainly miss when Freebitcoin was around and running with their original administration and not with whoever pulled their exit scam off, back then I got my first Satoshis thanks to Freebitcoin and I also lost them to them by gambling, and they were my first introduction to online gambling.
I did not become millionaire or anything thanks to them, but those were times which I would treasure kindly in my mind.

Sadly, those are also time which won't ever come back and all it remains is memories.

I also played on a casino called coin pot, which is not around either, but I did not invest as much time as I did on Freebitcoin.

I don't think it's all about scams or a bad reputation per se. They didn't have the same reputation and clientele they have now. Besides, technology has advanced proportionally in recent years, and the path is now much easier to navigate technologically speaking. They have companies specializing in game development, which allows them to minimize the risk of errors and, in turn, have better control. I think that, in short, everything is better organized now.

Perhaps many abandoned the project, and others simply restarted it with a new name.

I think what I really miss is putting some money on a gambling site and letting it make profits on its own. I'd choose that than keeping my money on the bank as long as it is a reputable name.

This was one of the first gambling site and sport book were all outcomes (and bet) have been managed directly on chain with a dedicated address for each transaction.
unfortunately they have been probably hacked or in general they had some issues (likewise with double spending and other issues related to the change USD/BTC).

Most of the old casinos that we used to know have closed due to mutual decisions that they just have to stop it. Maybe they just got tired and the market have become better and the owners of it have got a lot of holdings and so, why bother trying to make a living when they've already make it big by their own holdings, right? But usually it's about the mismanagement of the entire operations and the cost of expenses is even higher than the revenue that they get. I guess everyone has that common old casinos in mind but fortunejack is memorable to me although they are still existing.

Sometimes, when I have free time, I reminisce about the good old days of playing Primedice and getting free BTC from the Freebitco.in faucet. It's such a joy. I can't remember the largest amount I ever won, but considering the current BTC price, I'd probably be very rich.

I remember these sites I played on a few of them. Doesn't the past always feel better, no matter what? Like an old video game you played or memories from the past. When you initially mentioned "old casinos," I thought you were referring to physical casinos, but that wasn't the case. I didn't have any memorable winnings from these sites, maybe a few hundred dollars at most.

So... I think that I am not too old in gambling, so I have not developed a taste for it or become attached to a specific casino to the point of missing it nowadays.

But there are some things I miss about how casinos were about 3 years ago... when we did not have so many regulatory requirements, when the deposit and withdrawal process was simpler, and casinos did  not ask for anything more than a username, password and wallet address for deposits... good times, and they are becoming increasingly rare.

But... on the other hand, I see that today we have things that did not exist years ago... the diversity of games has increased a lot, the bonuses are also more generous (a consequence of high competitiveness), so I think we are currently in the black.
