Do you miss the old casinos?

Well I don't really know the reason behind that, but I think it could be due to bad management. Or maybe they don't work as we expected because if a casino does not give us what we want we would surely abandone them and look for a different one that is more reliable and also have all the things we are looking for in a casino, there's this saying that many are called but few are chosen. so yeah I think the reason why stake is still existing till this time it's because they meet up with the requirements because it's been long i heard about stake and even till now I keep hearing it that is to show that they are more reliable than every other Casinos back then and also they have a good management.

Such casinos were not always unsuccessful due to scams, and more so, the inability of these old casinos to meet the expectations of players. Ineffective management, slow responsiveness, poor withdrawal time and ugly bonuses drive away players in the long run. I'm not really old I'm the forum, so I don't know which one I would miss or which one I won't (just kidding lol). Although, doing a research will help me know some of them and also know about their reputation here in the forum.
Currently, there are a lot of good and reputable casinos, I think we just need to stick to them and also check out the ones about to come in the future.

Lol, I really understand that nostalgia. Many old casino are gone now and some of those who have big name on the online gaming before was already forgotten.  Just like CyberThrill one of the early casino on late 90's was dead because of scam or attack and it disappeared after their websmaster protest against their reward system. In cryto world there are OG like SatoshiDice and the early BTC betting site who set their vibes before but it can no longer be seen in the same way now. Yeah, I think many were dead because of wrong management, regulation pressure or because they were defeated by the bigger and nice platform.  That is one of the reason why new crypto casino have good payout and provably fair technology are so popular now

In the case of Freebitcoin that si exactly what happened to them before they decided to keep the money of people hostage and not to comply with withdrawals. They refused to re-invest the money they got on renewing their user interface, getting more games and adding value to their gambling experience. Eventually, all that translated to loss of gamblers and volume of money going through their ecosystem.

Not all casinos suffer this destiny, though, there have been old school casinos which recognized the value of Bitcoin, Ethereum and other blockchains to become global casinos.

That being said, there is still much potential in brick-and-mortar casinos and bookies, as there will be always people seeking for the experience of being in a gambling floor, instead of gambling from their homes.

Before 2017, when you registered on the forum, there were already a lot of popular casinos, but nothing as big as what we have now. Back then, only a few were offering sports betting, most of them were focused on dice games since that was really popular at the time.

I can still imagine how easy it was to bet Bitcoin like it meant nothing, I remember losing more than 1 BTC myself. Looking at the price now, sure I could’ve enjoyed that money today, but there’s no going back and that’s just part of the experience, similar to the Bitcoin pizza story. Mentioning names of those old casinos I once gambled in is a tedious work for my brain at this moment because I visited more live casino centers before even joining online casinos and I don't think I have won much that would amount to how much I have spent gambling in these live centers.

The two that were very prominent were Bitvest and 777 Casino, managed by Lightlord. These two casinos were pioneers in the signature campaign here in Bitcointalk; they had the longest-running campaign until the COVID pandemic, when their admin was hit by COVID.

They made a relaunch after paying the delays, but they cannot keep up, maybe because Lightlord's Health, 777 Casino was shut down, Bitvest is still online, but they need to be active in marketing, so they will not lose their popularity.

With so many casinos launching almost every week, gamblers' attention is focused on those that offer maximum benefits and protection, and they also want their casino to remain relevant in the industry, as Stake.com is doing.

I definitely miss a few of them (Directbet, Nitrogensports, Rollin, Yolodice, etc.)  after experiencing them years ago during their peak. Even when the new top casinos are ahead of the competition, those old sites had a couple of unique features that you don't get to see on today's casinos.

They didn't officially gave the reason if I'm not mistaken, all of us though have our own speculation on why they shutdown their business. As for me Nitro for me and although they have rebranded their casinos too.

I guess it just shows that there are a lot of casinos in the past, they just come and go and then a new one will re-appear and then gambler either going to hook on them and stay loyal or just another casino that is passing by in this sector.
