I certainly agree. It is killing you not only your finances but also your mental health. Because if you are in a state of addiction, stress comes together with it and you will just find out later how it ruins your life.

It affects everything but if kept under moderation it can be fun too. Of course if one is getting addicted they need to move away from it fast. Otherwise its get the control over their life.

Often capital going down means they will stop gambling and once the salary drops in their account they will start gambling again. This should be controlled by the person budgeting the total amount of money being spent in gambling.

Without a doubt, absolute certainty. I see addiction as something similar to a disease like hypertension, which often has no symptoms. But by the time a person realizes they are sick, it is already too late, and other problems have already appeared. The same thing happens with gambling. You do not realize you are completely addicted until you start replacing daily activities with gambling or stop doing things just to play. In other words, it begins to affect your daily life. That is when the person realizes they are addicted. And by then, it is already a point that is very hard to come back from. The damage is already done.

So you need to be very careful not to become fully addicted, because once that happens, it is very difficult to get out, especially on your own.

Carefully? That lies in how the gamblers think about it. Because I spoke to some gamblers in my place, and the reason why they gamble is for money. And we know that most of the gamblers who aim for winning big end up addicted. Gambling was never been bad on the first place, it do only becomes bad depending on how a certain person would be treating it or on how they would be dealing up with it. It was create for fun and leisure but the main issue on here is that on the person itself because if you are dealing or playing gambling on a manner on which you've been spending up too much and having no control then this is where things becomes shit. You wouldnt notice that you are already addicted to it and as long you do have money into your pocket then you would definitely be playing no matter what and on the moment that you had lost it all then you would be having those pause and made out some realizations that you have done it too much, then you would be having the regret. Most addicted gamblers do surely denies that they are addicted and just that still saying that they are only playing for fun but once you do see their actions and activities towards gambling then you would be able to see that this isnt something a normal gambler would do specially if the spending is already that goes beyond of your limit.

Yes of course and it has even evolved to a point that people can easily gamble privately and hide their addiction from people that could help them. I had a friend that was an addict it took me very long to figure out and I did because she constantly kept asking for loans till I figured out what she was using the money for, stopped giving her and advised her on taking a break and go for counselling.

Since there's already an option to gamble online and keep the gambling activity by yourself, it's convenient for gamblers who wants to remain private to continue what they used to without knowing by anyone. I also have a neighbor who is addicted in slot (playing using his phone). A gambler who does not realize the importance of managing finances from the beginning can certainly end up badly. To set limits, a gambler must be able to manage their finances. That way, they will know the amount they can bet. It's not just about setting aside part of their salary for gambling, because gamblers can bet larger amounts until they actually find they have no savings left. We can see criminal actions committed by gambling addicts. The impact is not only on themselves, but it can also involve other people as well.

However, we are talking about gambling as a silent killer in this thread because it has become obvious that most gambler who are addicted to gambling do not even notice something is wrong with their habits until it is already too late and they have already lost a significant amount of money to the casino and the edge of the house.

Some lucky people who have enough self-awareness can realize they are falling into gambling addiction before losing most of their money and seek for help, but unfortunately that is not the majority of people within this ecosystem. A debt. it's the biggest killer for the gambling addiction. Many of suicidal cases in my environtment has always been starting from the debt. People gambling, then lose. They try to recover their lose by borrowing money and keep losing until they reach a state they can't pay their debt. They decide to end their live with the hope it can freely them from their debt.

I agree with this. Nothing destroys a gambler's life silently when they have it in mind that there are people somewhere they owe a huge sum of money, they haven't paid back and the people are on their neck threatening them.

I agree with u  and i think calling it a silent killer actually fits but not because there are no symptoms. It is because the symptoms dont  look dangerous at first. Mentality like one win will fix everything. After that  hiding small amounts of money and constant stress . All of these seem normal and minor in the beginning. But over time they become extremely dangerous.

What really makes it dangerous is the  financial pressure turns into mental stress after that  relationships weaken due to which decision making gets worse and the person starts isolating themselves out of shame.

Addiction can be very dangerous especially when it's eating you up from the inside, when you are literally going through a lot all by your self without being noticed by people around you. It comes with so much depression, constant worries on how to get money to fix up your addictive lifestyle, nothing absolutely matters to you anymore but how to get money to gamble, in most cases at the time you are looking for how to get funds to gamble, at the same time you are also looking for a possible way of paying off the whole dept you have accumulated so far because of gambling. So you see,  addiction comes with a lot of trouble that if care is not taken, you may be damaged mentally, so in all our dealings in gamble, we should try not to be addicted because if you wouldn't know how bad gambling addiction is, until you stay with someone that is addicted to it.

This is true, they lose self-esteem, lose a peaceful life, lose a cheerful life because addiction worsens his relationship with his environment which makes him live alone and even some gamblers with acute addiction will be shunned by many people including his family, and not a few of them die by suicide because of frustration, whether it's because they have a lot of debt or because of depression due to defeat that consumes all their property.
