Let's not forget that gambling is just a tool, and it's up to the people on how they'll be using it.

Unfortunately, the thing that many people can't understand is that, it's the decision of the people or in this case, the gamblers that makes gambling really bad for some. Why many gamblers are getting addicted? It's because of their decisions. It's because of their desire to make money. It's because they don't want to end up losing, and it's their choice and decision, not the owner of the casinos. Drugs assault the body and mind directly and in most instances the damage is irreversible or very difficult to revert. Gambling however destroys mainly money, relationships, and stability of mind. Although money could be recovered in the long run, the damaged emotional burden and loss of time could not be accumulated that easily. The risk is that these addictions are interdependent, so a person is likely to be encouraged by the stress caused by gambling to do drugs or by drugs to engage in careless gambling. Ultimately, there is no better or worse addiction and they all gradually deny an individual control, discipline and meaning. Early intervention, discipline, and awareness is the actual solution.
