The topic was treated on meta board, some asked what quality post is and how it can get merit. Different opinions and views was shared and some include what you also mentioned here but most people said that quality is subjective, if you also observed very well, you will see that it's true, quality is subjective but it doesn't change the fact that a quality post should add value like you said in number 1. I don't quite agree with your number 3 that says a quality post must be original. Some post are just news that was passed on social media which most people here never read but if someone brings it here, you that might have not see the news before have not been informed because someone created a topic about it.

Your posts should be original: if your post are copied from somewhere or from AI then your post is not a quality post, your post should be very original by containing your own words, your own examples and your own opinion. Just make it original when you do this your post can be said to be a quality post.

4. Your post should be readable, understandable and informative: a quality post should be a post that someone can read and understand what you are talking about or referring to and it should contain important information, when it contains all this then one can call it a quality post.

You've listed quite a good number of points to consider quality while publishing any post here; adding value is a key factor because most people here or visiting the platform have one problem they're looking at to get solved or are adding some knowledge about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency generally. Secondly, problem-solving: we have a lot of people that have one or two issues they don't know how to go about , so helping them solve those issues is a good thing.

Quality post doesn't really means that you must write a full wall of text maybe such as 1 page or 2 pages, this would only makes the reader more confused because it could be that bulky for them to finish up the reading and at last they all happens to be trash and resulting to same thing which others has already been put down there. A simple words as "Good" is enough to be quality than wall of text that has not results in anything meaningful. Of course everyone has their ways of analysis and classifying quality post.

This is truly an eternal question of this forum, but I think it is enough to look at the posts that receive merits on this forum and the matter will become clearer.
Members often reward with merit someone's effort, invested in some research or analysis on this forum.
Nobody likes short and impersonal messages written just for the sake of writing something, but everyone appreciates someone's effort and work, and that is usually rewarded.

They are posts that are made by certain individuals. I can say the same thing with another with barely any difference and the other could be considered of higher quality due to subconscious trust that came about from the user previous posts.

When the make the consideration do they write that this post is of higher quality and this one is of lower quality.
Yes there are some popular individuals that makes quality post but even if you are new or changing to become a quality poster when you make a quality post you won’t be getting a low quality post remarks.

Do some research, it's been made countless numbers of times and we have a lot of guides on this already. A lot of users makes the term quality post look a bit difficult. It's as simple as writing good English, good enough for everyone to read, understand and learn something from. There's nothing fancy about quality post. Some users are just too lazy to study the forum. that's why it seems surprising to them anytime they here about quality post.

I think many users are putting so much pressure on creating a quality post for the sake of earning merits. From what I have learned in the past years in this forum, whenever you force something, the harder you would attain it. When you do things naturally, then you would reap all the rewards in the process.

We can liken this to earning merits in this forum- the more you chase it, the farther it is you would receive it. Instead, change your mindset to putting all the effort of contributing to the forum. For starters, you can focus creating some helpful threads on your local board for easier construction of sentences and communication with your peers.

I concur with every other point you raised there but this. You can share an article from somewhere that's not yours and still be on point. The only side effect to it is when you don't reference it with a source link to show it's not originally yours. It's deemed plagiarism where one arrogates ownership of such to oneself. This forum doesn't joke with that as it's an offence punishable with a ban.

Yeah, it's subjective that we can say that every board or thread is very different when giving merits as far as what they regarded as quality posts. For sure we all know one thread that has a lot of merits even if you just post image or one liner because that's their culture.

But as what you have said, general consensus is that the reply could be very helpful and concise that most of us, even not English speaker could readily understand it and obviously it has answered the doubts of the thread starter.

And yes, it's obvious that someone who has something to say needs to formulate their thoughts correctly in order to be original in what they want to convey. It's no secret that there is a lot of information on the forum, and it's sometimes quite difficult for beginners to come up with something that could attract a reader. However, sometimes it is better to remain silent than to be someone whose posts do not bring anything useful.

In addition, sometimes a small phrase or a small remark can replace a thousand words. And those who have something to say should take this into account: "Brevity is the sister of talent." The clearer your posts are, the sooner you will receive recognition from readers.

To me it would be better op Lock this thread as I didn't see need to keep this topic open while it degenerate more spam.

I concur with every other point you raised there but this. You can share an article from somewhere that's not yours and still be on point. When you share an information and you put the source link, to make it original is by adding your own thought or idea from what you shared I don’t even think it’s right to share a post or news without adding something to it, when you share something here try as much as possible to add your own content or write up into it when you do this it becomes original, but when you share something without adding anything to it the post won’t be seen as a quality post but immediately you add your thought or idea one can see it as a quality post.

To be precise, there's no other threads that is the same as yours but there are topics of the same as this which is all about post quality of it's high/good quality posts or not. If you make a research then you will see many forum members asking what makes a good/high quality posts considered as good/high quality and the other forum members will then give a link about posting etiquette and advices on what to do to be able to make or create such good posts.

What do you mean about language of a quality post should be simple and informative when the main language on this forum is English language unless you are posting in local boards which isn't. Anyway, I do get what you mean when I read about not using complex words or difficult words when making a post or when joining discussions as it will help make the topic more easy to understand but there are some topics that need more than just understanding like doing it hands on or if not will have to use other words fit for explaining the topic.

Using simple and correct English to communicate help the reader to decode your message, but if your use so much grammar to prove a point it will be boring for people to read. They're many threads and posts on this forum to read, if our make your post too easy and simple in tone, and contribute to the matter of discussion then it can be regard as a quality post. You don't have to write plenty to be regard as quality posts, your post can be lengthy and still be low quality post. It's not about the length but the message you're passing.

Let me add that a quality post can also be asking a meaningful question.  Some questions will expand the discussion which will help members gain a deeper or better understanding of the topic. I have seen some newbies ask some relevant questions which is just good.

AI generated posts has been frowned against in the forum. Initially it was a thing of debate that some people still felt it was normal to use AI to generate posts since the one sharing it is using it to share useful information that is needed in the forum and on the topic of discussion at the time. But after a lot of contention, using an AI generated post while on paid signature campaigns is you not being just to them. Also if AI generated posts is what we need in the forum, then ourselves contributions will not be appraised enough as it should because the idea is not coming from us again but from the help of an AI tool.

AI generated post is not prohibited in the forum. The problem is when you claim ownership of the idea or post by failing to reference or acknowledge that it was generated by AI. Some members use AI constructively, and they are duly referenced.

Your post should be readable and concise, it must not be lengthy for it to make sense. Personally, even a reasonable question serves as a quality post, but at the end, different individuals has what they are looking for in a post to term it a quality post and worthy of getting a reward for it.
