Will quantum computers be destructive to the Bitcoin protocol? I'm learning a little bit that I don't really understand that cryptographic algorithms have the potential to break which can compromise the level of personal security. The world is ready for Bitcoin adoption but quantum technology could pose an indirect risk in the future.
They have been countless discussions on the forum concerning how quantum attacks would be a problem for Bitcoin in the future and you can verify this by using the search bar. However , the basis of all the arguments are all theoretical and barely practical yet. Quantum computing in itself hasn't even been used fully yet let alone against bitcoin.
Regardless of it ever becomes a pressing issue as a threat to bitcoin probably in the future (although I think it is very unlikely, bitcoins protocol too will be updated.
