I want to bring this to the public notice, a user called antonpans hosted bitcoin giveaway worth $25. I told him to escrow it as I wanted to do the escrow for free so far it is a free giveaway, he did not listen. That is where I knew it will probably be someone that can not be trusted. The day the winner should be picked was on 21th of January which is this month. He picked the winner but the winner has not been paid till today which is now a week.

Hello, today is the last time to join! We will announce the winner on 21 january (tomorrow) . The prize will be paid within 48h , normally should be paid roght after the winner is picked, but i am on a business trip . Good luck everyone and thank you for participating!

Winners has been selected! Contratulations!

Winner is RedFlix, apparently a newbie Smiley . Please post here to claim your prize within 48h , otherwise we will make another draw.

I would probably send him a message and ask what the delay is before tagging. If no response is given within a day or 2 then by all means leave a tag. He already has neutrals for likely being a compromised account.

What exactly is the red trust being given for—a delay in paying a participant $25?

If the participant received the reward even though it was late by a week, as you say, I don’t believe antonpans deserves a red trust.

Although a neutral rating would probably suffice, if this happens again repeatedly or consecutively, a red trust might be warranted per forum guidelines on escalating issues.

Also, consider that members have lives outside of the forum, and since it was his idea to give away $25 in the first place, take into account his generosity. Perhaps this warrants some level of grace.

I told him to escrow it as I wanted to do the escrow for free so far it is a free giveaway, he did not listen.

This isn't making you look good, to be honest.  If it's his $25 to give away, it's his promise and his word, there's no need to escrow it.  And why would you expect him to trust you and listen to your demands, or even advice?

As for the delayed payment, I wouldn't be too judgmental.  For various reasons (one being a boneheaded mistake on my part) I recently had a delay in sending out money that I was escrowing for a couple of contests.  Life gets in the way.  No one threatened to red-tag me.  To my defense I was transparent and communicative, but you don't know what communication is going between antonpans and the winner of the contest.  Maybe the winner didn't communicate within the 48 hours, and antonpans hasn't had a chance to pick the next winner.  Give it time, and don't expect everything to conclude to your arbitrary timeline.

What exactly is the red trust being given for—a delay in paying a participant $25?

Exactly, it's not like he's trying to sell pre-generated private keys, or anything super shady like that.

I think this is a good idea.

I have explained myself above. Read the OP very well for you to understand.

But what if he does not send it?

This thread is no more about me trying to be an escrow anymore, it is about him not paying for the giveaway.

Let me explain it further for you. Just read what the winner has been posting to the extent someone saying he is spamming, although I do not think the person meant he is spamming.

The winner is RedFlix.

Winner is RedFlix, apparently a newbie Smiley . Please post here to claim your prize within 48h , otherwise we will make another draw.
You can see the extraction here :
https://streamable.com/zcwi7k

Hello Sir

Thank you for the contest. I am waiting for the prize.

Thank you very much sir. Good luck to you next time.

Didn't receive the prize yet.

I didn't recieve the 25$ prize yet.

Do I have to contact you in pm sir?

He apologized:
Sorry, as i previously mentioned it will be sent in 48h after the claim. I will apologize and add 24 more hours . And will make another draw after this. Im travveling back home tommorow

More than the next 48 hours:

He is inactive since two days and seems careless about paying the 25$ giveaway. I wonder why he started the giveaway if he will ignore it later. Not good for his reputation. He is an old member account.

Still waiting for Mr antonpans to response ....

This was posted today:

You said,  trust was on you but you're already failing the trust confided on you and now you make the winner keep spamming the thread, that's the more reason why the funds was asked to be escrowed, as if @_act_ knew these was going to happen.

Why you call me a spammer? I didn't beak forum rules in posting but keep updating the thread for visibility. If not because of what you called spam, you weren't to notice this thread. You are spamming this thread by accusing me to be a spammer. Say something useful or keep silence.

Antonpans requested for people to post their bitcoin address which you can see on people post on the thread, no need to communicate with the winner. Also the winner has been frequently posting on the thread after he was announced to be the winner as you can see.

I prefer what Yahoo62278 posted, I think he read all these posts that I quoted.

Even if the giveaway is $1, if Antonpans did not send it, he deserves red trusts.

Ignore this retarded wannabe scammer and trust abuser.  He's the last person who should be giving advice on how to use the trust system.

Even if the giveaway is $1, if Antonpans did not send it, he deserves red trusts.

I don't get it.  You're DT2, what's preventing you from giving him a red-tag yourself?  Is this thread to convince some other DT member to do your dirty work for you?  I was under the impression you were asking for advice.  Mine is be patient.  I'm not putting a gun to your head, forcing you to do things my way.

Don't forget, there's a little "delete" link next to the reg-tags you leave for others.  If he comes back and pays up tomorrow, use it.

The member Antonpans already has some neutral tags and those tags clearly show that the account might has changed hands.

After reading those tags a regular member of the forum would never take part in such raffle as that would be waste of time and nothing else.

OP, since you've red tagged the member Antonpans and that's more than enough for that account.

If the participant received the reward even though it was late by a week, as you say, I don’t believe antonpans deserves a red trust.
The event launched by Antonpans is an implied contract. When he stipulates late payments at the beginning of the event, it's a tolerance limit he sets himself (not a mutual agreement), and neither participants nor winners have the right to interfere with those terms. If Antonpans ends up making additional payment deadlines after the winner is announced, that's beyond the initial terms and must be agreed to by the winner as ownership of the sum of money mentioned in the event has changed.
The winner is the most deserving of giving a trust score first (if he wish) as a sign of being disadvantaged, other members can also give scores afterward with subjects such as "having outstanding prizes owed to user X" to pressure Antonpans to resolve it immediately. In fact, trust scores can be changed or removed based on the latest situation.

The account Antonpans was last active on 23rd January, 2026. You don't know if something bad must have happened to him hence the reason why he has been inactive. I think you should give him some time to come online and explain himself. Some people are going through a lot in real life so we should learn to be patient in some cases before we draw conclusion. I am not trying to defend him for not paying up the amount he's owing but a little bit patience while waiting for him to come online will make sense.

What exactly is the red trust being given for—a delay in paying a participant $25?

I have explained myself above. Read the OP very well for you to understand.

I only asked for clarification.

If the participant received the reward even though it was late by a week, as you say, I don’t believe antonpans deserves a red trust.

But what if he does not send it?

I thought your original post had stated that he sent it today, but that it was a week late. I may have misconstrued what you meant by your text.

He picked the winner but the winner has not been paid till today which is now a week.

Ultimately, I agree with rat03gopoh’s stance.

Perhaps a red trust can be applied as pressure and removed later, or changed to neutral for the record. At the end of the day, it’s ultimately your decision. It seems relatively fair given the circumstances if he has not paid.

For clarification, has he paid or not?

Ignore this retarded wannabe scammer and trust abuser.  He's the last person who should be giving advice on how to use the trust system.

DireWolfM14, I challenge you to answer these questions, as you are such a noble leader.

After reading those tags a regular member of the forum would never take part in such raffle as that would be waste of time and nothing else.

The voice of truth. Why don't people think that someone on the forum is just pretending to be an important person, intentionally creating certain expectations for others? His neutral reviews already suggest that he cannot be trusted. But anyone who decides to contact him should be prepared to receive nothing.

Let's recall the story of one user who promised a prize in the form of his merits for a certain price of bitcoin on a particular day. In the end, he didn't keep his promise.
I had some merits lying around with me for some time. So thought to do a contest here for this.

As a reply on this thread, you have to post the exact possible price for bitcoin on 22-2-24 , 8 pm Indian time.

The member with the closest estimate will win this contest.

Bump, I recall back this thread lol.

It's already end, so who's the winner? there are few users who predict quite close, but I don't know how much the exact Bitcoin price on March 22, 2024, probably this site would help https://www.statmuse.com/money/ask?q=bitcoin+price+march+22%2C+2024

@OP was active several days, if he didn't give the merit to the winner, should we say @OP is a scammer? Huh

Should he get a negative rating?

Sometimes people want to play the role of important people, even if only a little. Let them do this because they feel left out of the spotlight. The same thing happens with the antonpans account. Grin

Let's give him some time to fulfill his promise. Yes the deadline for payment may have passed but who knows what might have happened to him during that time. Sometimes things in life are so random and can get you unprepared.

We have had delayed payments for contests and signature campaigns before but members have been patient in such times and never rushed to send negative feedback so I think the same should apply to Antonpans for now

The contest was more than a year ago and he did receive 3 neutral tags. IMO scamming is scamming and he probably should have been tagged for holding a fake contest and being untrustworthy, but being as a year has passed and noone else thought to tag him the neutrals will suffice.

Maybe the correct way to go with Antonpans account? I personally think they both should get red tagged if they don't follow through. All we have is our word, if you say you're gonna do something, DO IT. Simple right? IMO it's no different than a company opening a signature campaign with set rates, hiring users, and not paying at the end of the week.

I think it's right to red tag him. There were already warning signs with the neutral tags as it's been mentioned, and he promised to give an amount of money that he then hasn't paid so far. Even if the amount seems small to us, that amount can feed a family for several days in several countries around the world where we have active members in the forum.

I'm going to wait a little while to see if he pays, otherwise I'll red tag him as well.

No I was referring to the merit contest by krishnaverma in march of 2024 mentioned by lovesmayfamilis in the post before mine. That user was only given 3 neutrals for not paying out the merits promised. All of it is the same IMO, whether the contest be for merit, btc, an altcoin, or anything. A scam is a scam.

Yeah, I was rereading the thread and I've realized about that. I've edited the post.

That wasn't a year ago, it was a month ago.

I am asking because I've just learned about this and I am not sure but I don't know if you've misread the date.

Maybe you have quenched my thirsty mind.
I was just thinking why one will host a giveaway without compulsion and will refuse to pay out.
Isn't giveaway something that is done out of freewill?
Am I missing something here?

I think we should notify him as someone suggested that direct message should send to him and know why...And what is holding him...sometimes it's easier to made a promise but it's difficult to fulfill the promise

Maybe he has in mind to do what he has promised and maybe has not gotten the capital...But after messaging him and he failed not to comply or express the reason why he refused to fulfilled his promise, then, the red tagging can GO on" so the tag can be on two options...not to fulfilling his promises and Neglect of a private message"

I think Antonpans should be given red trust.

for the same reason I gave a red trust to a person who had made a bet
coinilmionome bet with gbianchi about flipping eth on btc as much as $1000 almost 2 years ago
He did not pay the bet and refused to put the money in free escrow
so i gave withmyname a red trust, happy to take it off if he pays off the bet

I'm not sure I would give someone a red trust for this, at least not right away. Seeing as how the amount is only $25 I would be more inclined to leave a neutral stating what happened, and even then only after a few weeks of inaction by the contest host. If it were a much larger amount then I could see the argument for leaving a red a bit more clearly. But at the end of the day what constitutes "a lot of money" is pretty subjective.

I noticed his account took a 6 year break, came back asking for an $800 loan, took part in some contests & giveaways, and now he's hosting his own giveaway.. weird. Maybe he thought it might help build him some positive trust and then changed his mind.

Maybe he thought it might help build him some positive trust and then changed his mind.

That crossed my mind too.  Seeing as how a newbie won the contest and a positive review from a newbie is worthless, he decided it's not worth the $25?  Maybe it would have been worth the $25 to avoid getting a red-tag.  It's strange to say the least.
