This year, I am creating the thread for the 2026 Brazilian championship and continuing what @alegotardo has been doing over the last few years (thank you bro  )

This year, unusually, the calendar has changed due to the USA World Cup
We start today, January 28, and continue until December 2
There will be a break from June 1 to July 22

Flamengo has finalized the signing of Lucas Paquetá. I think the same way, he lost his market value abroad and went back to where he'll be paid a big salary. But I don't know, if I were a player in his place I'd prefer to stay in Europe, it's good here but lately it's not one of the best places. Not even in football, so I think it's a choice made by someone who wasn't prepared for anything.

On one hand, it is sad to see my beloved team start the championship this way, on the other hand, it is happy to see another team from my region starting well.

I think monitoring Chapecoense would be a good idea. Yesterday they beat Santos 4-2. In my view, they started on the right foot, which is enough to monitor them at this early stage, but in Santos' case, the big stars haven't played yet.

The only teams with the financial power to pay these high salaries are Cruzeiro, Flamengo, and Palmeiras, but these star players arrive here and usually disappoint with low-level performances.
