Starting my fourth topic about the main soccer championship in Brazil!

In 2024, as always, we will mourn the defeat of our teams' elimination (or even relegation), or we will celebrate their victory. But in 2025, I'm sure we will have much more emotions.

The CBF has already released the calendar for this year's championship, which will be interrupted in the middle of the year because of the Club World Cup and therefore the state games will also occupy a smaller period of the year, starting on January 12 and ending on March 26.

So the Brazilian championship is as follows:

• It starts on March 29;
• It is interrupted on June 15;
• It will resume on July 13, and finally;
• It ends on December 21.

Great topic @alegotardo, for me we could have a big surprise in this championship, which is the Mirassol team that will compete in the Brazilian elite championship for the first time (and even signed striker Alexandre Pato). They are coming off an impressive rise, I researched a little about this progress and the team showed itself to have an excellent structure and even has a fantastic training center, this team is not in Serie A by chance.

We also have the return of Ceara, Sport and Santos, but it remains to be seen whether they will be able to stay in the elite. I will now have 2 teams that I will root for to be relegated: Sport and Fluminense lol

The Brazilian league (brasileirão) will only be on hiatus for 1 month, it's not that long. I'm very excited, I hope the smaller teams have their chances to stand out by putting pressure on the strong teams.

Palmeiras should be in the G4 again, but since Abel isn't doing so well, I don't think he'll be the champion. I believe my rival Corinthians should stand out better than last year, renting a triplex in the leader and second-placed teams, I can't wait for the games to start.

I should start betting when I'm more certain about the performance of the brazilian teams, I think betting on the teams that will stay in the G4 for the longest time, around the middle of the championship, could be a good idea.

Surely you will also understand how the quality of the performance of the team that was previously in Serie-B and got promoted to Serie-A, they will only be team that suffers lot of defeats so that it is difficult to compete against several team that have been here for long time, in the end they are relegated again.

There is one team that I think can survive if they are able to create good improvement and that is Santos, they have previously had experience in Serie A and could use that experience to be able to compete in this year edition.

This year I think Botafogo will continue its journey to become a "big club". They have already signed a master sponsorship that is the biggest in its history. After the investor bought the club, things started to improve. Good management and cash in hand changes everything. All of this just shows how much incompetence the club has had in recent decades.

I think they've learned their lesson in Serie B, just like the other big teams they've relegated, they should have a regular championship without too many surprises, probably top 12 in the end

Ceará and Sport
I'm going to make the same analysis for both teams
Both teams are strong in the northeast, but in the national championship they don't have the same strength to compete with the teams from SP, MG and RJ.
They are teams that spend some time in Serie A and some time in Serie B.
They should maintain the same situation, staying in the middle

Mirassol
This team is a big surprise, they'll be playing in Serie A for the first time.
They had a good campaign in the B series, only 1 point behind Santos, and ahead of Sport and Ceará.
They are signing some more experienced players and could be of great help in a difficult, long championship with several big teams.
A good yardstick will be the Paulista championship, which Mirassol will also be competing in among the big teams, in Serie A.

I didn't know about the possibility of David Luiz going to Fortaleza, that's news. But from what I've seen, Corinthians and Cruzeiro are also in the running. I believe he will go to Corinthians.

Sport, I believe that due to the endless crises, it is a real possibility that the club will fight to avoid relegation again. As for Santos, I agree with you. They will be in the middle of the table, perhaps trying to get a place in the Libertadores Cup at best. I confess that until now I hadn't stopped to observe this team, and I don't think I've actually seen it play, I barely remember its name. It's always good to see new faces, and I hope they can stay in the main league of our sport for at least more than one championship to get good sponsorships, give visibility to previously unknown players who can become new talents in our football.

Ceará... I have my doubts, I think it should be among the last, if it doesn't get relegated again.

About Santos and Sport... it's hard to say, I don't expect good results from them, but I also doubt they'll be relegated again.

Let's wait for the championship to start and the first games to take place before returning to your question.

I will definitely bet against these teams for at least 5 rounds in a row. It is not possible that so many signings will make the team gel in time to generate any significant results. Unless these 11 players that Ceará has a contract with are a complete team.

I don't think there is any favorite for the title this time. Last two years Palmeiras had already started the championship as the favorite one, even though things completely changes along 2024, and Botafogo won.

Naturally, Botafogo should be the favorite for the next season, but the team is changed. We don't have Artur Jorge, Luiz Henrique and Tiago Almada anymore. Some other secondary players were also sold or didn't have their contracts renewed. The team has to build a new composition from a very raw stage, especially regards its mid-offensive squad. A new coach is also essential.

All we have so far are promises of a better team than it was in 2024.
