I have the exact same feeling about Flamengo. It feels like this year they’re throwing away their chance to be the main contenders in the championship. As always, they’re a very unstable team. It seems we're heading towards another Brasileirão season where the title will be contested between Flamengo and Palmeiras. Coincidentally, at this same point last year, the points difference was the same, but Flamengo was in first place.

Fluminense is right behind Flamengo, but I feel that at some point what happens every year will happen again, the teams suddenly forget how to play and Flamengo and Palmeiras remain consistent. The title will ultimately go to one of these two giants.

Did you see Tiago Leifert's theory about the fourth official and Neymar's call-up? Now these guys are pulling stories out of thin air to justify things, it's crazy. The guy subbed Neymar out either by mistake or on purpose (God only knows) and now they're saying he’s the hero of the call-up because Neymar could have gotten injured in the match... it's unbelievable, honestly.

The last time I followed this league religiously was when Corinthians were in elite form. I recently started following the league and saw that Palmeiras are like the top team now so I backed them few days ago while they were at home and they 0-1. They would always win except the one time I decided to back them to win at home lol. Anyway, I will continue follow the league this season because major leagues in Europe have either ended or will soon end in the next week or two.

They’re in the relegation zone right now, and the thought of finishing the first half of the season in that position during the World Cup is pretty unsettling

While the World Cup games haven't started yet, there's still a very important game to be played: Flamengo vs. Palmeiras. This game:

If Flamengo stumbles and loses, Palmeiras will consolidate their number 1 position. This gap will likely only widen if Flamengo doesn't play with the intention of winning the title. Because so far, I only see Flamengo fighting to finish in second place, and if they lose in the game in 4 hours, they'll only be confirming what I think. Not the theory. Cuca is not a hero, he said Neymar was subbed by mistake because the fourth official used the wrong number before Robinho raced on the grass.

Fans were shocked when Neymar was angry at being substituted. Brazil can play without him. Neymar has a history of injuries and bad temper. Carlo Ancelotti is the man who made the decision to take Neymar to the world cup. If I had the job instead of Carlo I would leave Neymar behind, I would add a younger faster striker to my players group.

I occasionally watch the Brazilian league, especially since I follow Flamengo. Yesterday they played an important match against Palmeiras, but Carrascal's red card in the 21st minute changed the course of the game.
Palmeiras took advantage of Flamengo being down a man to win 0-3 away, securing a match worth 6 points.
Flamengo are currently 7 points behind Palmeiras and have a game in hand. If Flamengo win their postponed match, the gap will narrow to 4 points.

The chances of winning the championship between the two teams are very good, just like last year.

Flamengo outdid themselves. I knew these guys would disappoint. It's a good thing I was sleeping and didn't watch the game. I see it's very good that I didn't watch the games. How could these guys concede 3 goals and get a red card in such an important game? And the funniest thing is that before the game against Flamengo, what we saw from Palmeiras in the last 3 games was at most scoring 1 goal and conceding 1 goal, resulting in 3 consecutive draws.

But in the game against Flamengo, there was a red card for a Flamengo player right away, and after that it was a party for Palmeiras. 3 goals scored and zero goals conceded. Honestly, it's very difficult to believe that Flamengo went into this game with any desire to play.

7 points makes a difference. Flamengo must win games otherwise Palmeiras win run away with the title. Palmeiras won the match but Flamengo have the game in hand. If Flamengo win the game which was postponed 4 points will look like a small gap. Fluminense played 17 games like Palmeiras but are 8 points off the top. Like Flamengo they should not be discounted from chasing Palmeiras because there are difficult games to play.
