Palmeiras failed to win at home against Atlético Mineiro. The match, which ended scoreless in the first half, saw goals come in the second half. This was a game I didn't watch and didn't bet on. But I followed the game and later watched videos of game highlights. It seemed to me that Santos is without a clear direction. In the last game (Brazilian Championship game) they played against Chapecoense, who are in last place in the league, but they drew. Remember that this was the second time this season and in a league game that Santos played against Chapecoense; the first time they lost and the second time they drew.

Now they played against Remo, who are only one place above Chapecoense. Both teams, Chapecoense and Remo, are in the relegation zone, and even so, Santos couldn't score a goal or win the game. Santos fans don't seem happy with this result, and to make matters worse, the Santos coach doesn't know if Neymar will play in the next game. On the same day as the second leg of the game, there will also be an auction held by the Neymar Foundation, and the player will still undergo a physical evaluation.

Seeing teams like santos and internacional struggling in the relegation zone really will make one to realize how quick things can change in football, santos have been one of the most successful teams in the league and have really gone ahead to produce some great players in world football. For the past two seasons now they’ve really been struggling to keep up with the other top teams in the league, but somehow they managed to escape relegation last season. This season again they’re at it, their next fixture is against 3rd placed Atletico Paranense in the league which is equally not an easy one, but I believe they still have what it takes to overcome paranense especially as they will be playing at home, if they can get a win in that game they Stand a more higher chance of moving away from the relegation zone.

My prediction for today's game is that Atlético-PR will beat Vitória by only one goal. The odds of 1.5 goals are very high, and it's unlikely that this will happen. Therefore, I would bet very little on Atlético's victory just to get those odds of 1.60.

Another scoreless match in the Cup was the game between Chapecoense and Cruzeiro. Although Cruzeiro had more possession, both teams had the same number of shots on goal. The away team was, of course, the favorite in this match, but luck wasn’t on their side when it came to scoring.
Internacional managed to put an end to its losing streak with a victory over Corinthians. After a scoreless first half, they scored in the second half to secure a 2-0 win. Although Corinthians had been undefeated recently and dominated this match, their loss can be considered a disappointing result for them.

My prediction for today's game is that Atlético-PR will beat Vitória by only one goal. The odds of 1.5 goals are very high, and it's unlikely that this will happen. Therefore, I would bet very little on Atlético's victory just to get those odds of 1.60.

I only got the number of goals wrong, but the victory came and it was quite easy to predict. The winner was around 0.60 with a comfortable two-goal advantage, where Vitória didn't even manage a shot on goal. It was all Atlético playing.

Predicting the results of Brazilian championship games is very expensive, and when it comes to predicting the results of the Copa do Brasil, it becomes much more difficult. That's why I only bet occasionally, and only in special cases where I'm very convinced that it's a game I have a good chance of winning and I'm not in doubt.


Brazilian Cup:

Remo 0 - 1 Santos

Playing at home, I thought Roma would have better luck, but unfortunately they had worse luck. Just 28 minutes into the first half, one of their players received a red card. Playing with 10 men so early became a real suicide for Remo. Neymar wasn't playing, but he entered the game in the 46th minute and managed to score the winning goal for Santos in the 74th minute.

It's unbelievable that even after scoring the winning goal for Santos, some Brazilian football commentators continue to criticize him. When he doesn't play well, they criticize him; when he does his job well as a striker on the field, they also criticize him. Honestly, it's becoming obvious that some TV commentators make personal attacks simply because they don't like Neymar.

This is a very difficult game to predict. Both teams haven't done well in their last 5 games, but Sao Paulo's case is much worse because they haven't had a single victory in their last 5 games, while Gremio has had at least 1 victory in their last 5 games. The bookmakers are giving odds of @2.33 for Gremio and @3.15 for Sao Paulo. In other words, the bookmakers are giving high odds for both teams. But I'm not going to bet on this game.

Remo - Atletico Mineiro

Remo plays at home, they will have their fans to pressure the opponent, but they are the second worst team in the league and in their last 5 games they only had 2 victories. While their opponent in their last 5 games only had 1 defeat. My prediction: Atletico Mineiro wins or draws.

I'm trying to rethink my strategies for betting on Brazilian soccer,  it's been really hard to get my bets right
Even games that seem easy end up being a big surprise
In that case, Fortaleza won but didn't end up qualifying,  still, it looked like Palmeiras was going to win
