I thought as much, though, because what is the point of a comeback fight when they already publicly declared their retirement to the world? I have been following up with fights of such nature, and your findings are quite accurate about matches of this nature. They are just playing games with their trust of their fan base making huge cash out of it and see it as nothing.

This would be a great match to see because Tyson Fury who is now 37years of age, lost twice to Usyk in 2024 and this would be a high risk for him with much at stake if we should consider Makhmudow's strength and prowess so far in his career.

One sweet thing is that Netflix would be viewing this match because of their recent entry into live sports events like the NFL. This is also their first entry into a top tier boxing event that will be hosted in the UK.
Another interesting thing is that Polymarket is the official prediction market partner of this event with real time sentiments and score on the screen and am sure many people would take their chances as a first time experience or simply just enjoy the match as it is.

You could do match-fixing at low levels, for relatively lower money, but I don't think it's a real possibility at this level of boxing. They are already getting paid tons of money for those fights, so why would they risk losing it, possible jail time, and loss of respect, which is what would have happened if they got caught? To make it worthwhile, they would have bet heavy millions, which would raise all kinds of red flags on any betting site.

As for Tate, I don't believe anything he or his fans say. He's a notorious liar, which he somewhat admitted himself in the past.
The rumours of him betting against himself sprang out after his loss, so that's probably a cope to make his loss look less embarrassing. The total volume of bets on the Polymarket wasn't that high (+ bets are quite transparent), and betting unusually high amounts on an underdog on centralised sports betting sites would have a high risk of funds getting frozen until an investigation is carried out.

Russians are built different, and I don't think a fighter like Makhmudow will just give up for Tyson, who looks pretty much out of shape for the game. He's only 37, rusty and his physicality is different, unless we all want to lie to ourselves. Maybe someone needs to send him back to the retirement zone where he came from.

Arslanbek Makhmudov is known to have very strong Knockout power, Fury will know that as well and will try as much as possible to avoid it especially in the early rounds of the fight when his energy is still full and stamina in check.

Tyson Fury's chances of winning lies in his ability to study the fight as he usually does and tactically win it. He is a very smart fighter who has faced a lot of smart fighters too and won, I do not underestimate him because he is coming back fro retirement, I think he can win the fight .

Exactly, this is also what I thought, he unretires fighting a boxer that is good in paper and then once he win this one, he might call for Anthony Joshua. This is going to be one of the biggest fight, money wise, not on the impact on the Heavyweight division, but for the title of the best British boxing of all time.

Most likely if that fight is set up, both can retire for good and having a lot of money just on that fight alone. I don't think that he will be a trainer though, only few boxers gets to be a trainer after their career.

Fury coming back isn’t seems surprising at all, retirement never really sticks with him, and this feels like a confidence building return more than a legacy fight. Makhmudov is dangerous early with real knockout power, but stylistically he’s tailor made for Fury if Tyson is even close to his usual sharpness. I think nobody expected that his retirement will last long, right? I mean is there somebody here that took his announcement of retiring seriously? I don't think so, and here we are again. This is also one of the reasons why when somebody said that he will retire, nobody or at least only a few people are taking it seriously because anybody can just come out of retirement and fight again. Right now for me, retirement = I'll be inactive for a while, but I'll come back when I feel that I want to.

I'm not familiar with his opponent, but it's a good comeback fight for him I guess before fighting Joshua who is right now resting after his fight with Jake Paul, and the accident that happened to him and his friends. Like what you said though, I don't know when will AJ will fight, so there's a high chance that after this fight, Fury will fight other opponents, or who knows. He might try and fight Fabio Wardley for a title fight this year.

My thoughts? It's a good comeback fight for him, but if he losses on this one, he might retire for real.

The fight would be a full sum, therefore there'll be much to expect more especially from Tyson fury with all of his recent charades and having a come back to fight arslanbek that alone would be an exciting game to behold. However the recent retirement of Tyson is something unexplainable and I'm looking at it that there's possibility that he might be on a contract to fight some individuals specifically inorder to be paid ransomedly,usually when he got this comeback.

Makhmudov’s is a massive puncher but he is also robotic and one dimensional. This is a fighter that Fury should dominate easily. His tendency to get careless can make this an interesting fight if Makhmudov can land a lucky punch. Another issue for Makhmudov is that he is very slow.

There is every reason to believe this will be a one sided match, but a lot depends on which version of Fury shows up. The Fury that lost to Usyk is still more than good enough to dominate. If he is grossly out of shape and just looking to collect a paycheck, this will be something similar to his fight with Francis Ngannou.

Tyson Fury would have to be prepared for this fight because he is meeting a quality boxer. Aslanbek Makhmudov have won most of his fights through knockouts. His two looses was against the good fighters: Agit Kabayel and Olympian Guido Vianello. Fury is training hard in his camp in Thailand and will be hoping to win this fight. However, the Briton will be the favourite in this fight due to his experience, but Makhmudov shouldn't be underrated because he can whack.

Nothing strange about Fury coming back to the ring. This has been most boxers' tradition. Boxing legends like  Evander Holyfield, Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, and Sugar Ray Leonard did thesame. I guess the love for the sports and the financial gains keep bringing them back to the ring.

Not surprised to hear that Tyson Fury, is coming out from retirement to fight again, I wonder if these guys even mean it when they announce that they are retiring, people don't take their retirement announcements seriously anymore. Either he is coming back to fight for money or glory he is fully back and we will see if his comeback will be worth it. As for his opponent Makhmudov, I hear he's dangerous in the ring and I'm sure he will give Fury, a good fight, maybe if he can finish off Fury, in the early rounds Fury, will consider a permanent retirement or maybe not if Fury, teaches Makhmudov, a lesson from his vast experience, I look forward to the fight.

Tyson Fury is now 37 years of age, this is around the age that boxers like the quit. So if he wants to quit boxing, it is good. After a boxer quit, the boxer might still want to fight some matches. How about Mike Tyson that fought Jake Paul last year when he is becoming old already but the man quit boxing many years ago. So things like this can happen.

I beg to differ.
The "retirement" is a great marketing play that has been working for him quite well so far. First of all, he gets much more media coverage when: he announces his retirement, the possibility of returning from retirement, or his official return from retirement. He wouldn't have all that if he were just taking a normal break.
What's more, this gives him leverage in contract negotiations. His starting position is "I'm done with fighting" so any event organiser must come up with a really good financial offer to convince him to change his mind. And because of the "return", the event itself is more hypeable and therefore more profitable.

Tyson Fury is now 37 years of age, this is around the age that boxers like the quit. So if he wants to quit boxing, it is good. After a boxer quit, the boxer might still want to fight some matches. How about Mike Tyson that fought Jake Paul last year when he is becoming old already but the man quit boxing many years ago. So things like this can happen.

He's not that old for the heavyweight. Usyk is 2 years older and he's at the top of the food chain.
I'm pretty sure Fury's plan is to first defeat Makhmudov to build back his reputation after those 2 losses to Usyk and then fight Anthony Joshua for a super fight and to put a cherry on the top of his career. After that, he might retire for real. However, he might still go for the belt(s) if he's given a chance. I don't think Fury Vs Usyk 3 is likely to happen, but who knows what would happen if Usyk retires soon.

Makhmudov is the fresher fighter, having beaten David Allen last October 2025, but his style and defense are very weak; he is very stiff and lacks movement against a well-conditioned Tyson Fury I don't think he will stand a chance.
I check his match against Kabayel, and it exposes so many weaknesses in his style; he is just a big fighter with a weak body.
All Tyson needs to do is work on his jab to set up a straight, and it will land because Makhmudov is not good at protecting his chin
