Can someone list out details of the last 1 year in Bitcoin and on Forum?

Hi fellow countrymen

It had been a very long time since I was last active. So much so, that I even forgot the password.

How have things been?

There was lot of upheaval regarding changes to Bitcoin code and there was sort of a crisis brewing. What happened  through it? Did anyone follow? It'd be great if someone can summarize the topics over the last year in Bitcoin and the Forum.

I can't promise you that I can list everything but let me give out some of them that came to my mind.

Bitcoin:

1.Minrelay fee changed from 1sat/vb to 0.1sat/vb:

The default minimum relay feerate (-minrelaytxfee) and incremental relay feerate (-incrementalrelayfee) have been
changed to 100 satoshis per kvB. They can still be changed using their respective configuration options,

2. lifting of OP_RETURN size limits: Why Bitcoin 30 will probably not lead to more spam in the blockchain (ELI5)

3. And there are lot of threads discussing related to the post quantum computing and threats that bring to bitcoin network and proposed idea about making it resistance to quantum attacks but I guess it is far from reality yet so no ned to worry for now.

Forum:

1. No longer pursuing Epochtalk: Admin announced that bitcointalk will stay on SMF and the development stalling for very long time than it intend to forced to this decision. Nothing changed for the existing forum users.

Apart from this I couldn't remember anything that is big. Others who are much active might help you with that.

For an average user like me the noticeable change happened with bitcoin in the year 2025 is that now we can pay less fee than before and miners are including those transactions already. Earlier it was 1sat/vb but now it changed to 0.1sat/vb.

But the problem is any wallet has yet to adopt thise changes so the min fee on electrum and even on bitcoin core still remains 1sat/vb but one can do that with some extra steps if they want to make their consolidation cheaper.

How to do that on electrum:

I just wrote the smallest Electrum plugin ever that just runs this command at start.
