What’s the members’ consensus? Is the lack of enforcement a feature or a bug?

There is a lack of enforcement and too much slack for users that habitually double post and create low quality replies.  I'm seeing some users put too much load on the current system where the moderators are volunteers, and I'm sure they wish for users to learn from their mistakes instead of repeating the same error.  Moderators should be able to focus on important tasks, rather than menial post merges or low quality reply deletions.  If moderators banned, or put a time-out on users that break these rules habitually, maybe those rule breakers would learn quicker.

Now that that part is out of the way, I can continue:

Maybe nutildah's "twisting it" in kaz and howards worlds because he didn't include all the defaming/slanderous remarks that kaz and howard have slung at other members so far in just page 2 of this thread alone?  Troll is just a small slice, and I'm not willing to go back any further or to other threads to find more - this was quite enough.

I would recommended cutting out all slander if trying to make a point, especially when responding to valuable advice (even if you don't agree with it). 

Reading the posting history on some of these meta threads is kinda like hearing about a drunken driver claim they can drive perfectly fine just to have them crash one block away and be perfectly healthy but say nothing happened (I didn't crash that car!).  As an outsider, most know they should've stopped before they took off but it isn't clear to all and most of all it isn't clear to the driver.  Until someone like this has had some serious rehabilitation/introspection/behavioral change, we cannot expect to take them seriously or believe their word.

I truly don’t see how that compares to the innate instinct some DT1 members here seemingly have to initiate a conversation with highly inflammatory rhetoric, insults or the constant condoning of toxic behavior.

Speaking on Howard’s behalf, he isn’t someone I hold to DT1 high standards and what he has said by no means compares to DT1’s who curse him or myself and others that they disagree with. The words of mine you highlighted were never intended as insults—they were descriptive. I’m not sure what more accurate terms could have been used to convey the behaviors I was exposing.

You’re taking most, if not all, of it far out of context and ignoring what it was responding to. That comes across as very disingenuous.

That being said, I could perhaps do better and I’ll attempt to do so but that doesn’t mean I don’t hold validity or that my stance has changed. It means we should really all reflect on this debate because it’s important to help members of our community and engage in discourse respectfully. Minus the insults, manipulative twisting of words, condescending comments and other behaviors that negatively impact all of us. If others could also see that they could do better that would be a huge step forward and a benefit for all.

Also I'm glad you can speak for howard; phone buddies I'm suspecting based on the timing of these recent responses, you call each other to respond to forum posts as a team?  Not against the rules I guess, but that could be considered shilling since you do sell products for your company and I see howard has promoted your products quite a few times.  

The other crazy idea I have is you could be the same person.  Just because howard has a frontward public facing profile doesn't mean you couldn't have created it yourself, assigned an AI agent to monitor the communications whether it be email/phone, and have it respond accordingly.  I'd assume this AI agent would have no understanding of human boundaries, emotions, or reasoning to understand rules told to them via external means beyond their operator.

Knocking about AI doesn’t do anything to help get your point across. It shows bias towards it. Also, if it matters so much you’ll be happy to know it was hardly used. The whole bias towards AI is really getting old. Your continued points become meaningless if you really can’t focus outside or past its use. Not to mention off-topic.

I was actually referring to you. I believe Howard was just asking you to stop derailing this topic. It seems like your intention is to be condescending. I actually respected your first point even though I disagreed with much of it. I see how one may view it as you did. Unfortunately, the discussion has been spiraling downward ever since your 2nd reply.

I believe one’s intention means a lot. It truly makes a difference. I don’t want to be “right” in regards to this whole debate. I just want us to be better towards one another. Fostering the community for growth. Solving the grievances, issues or debates related to a topic. If you take the responses that we recently gave to you and ran them through an AI detection analyzer you would see how little AI was actually used. Really though, create an AI topic I’ll met you there.

To be fair to you digi, I’ll answer this regarding AI. It should be allowed, spam is not. There is a threshold when it comes to gaging things such as AI and spam related content. If AI is utilized that doesn’t make it automatically spam.

I believe AI generated spam responses is something the forum has been battling recently, there is a whole 94 page thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5456516.0) dedicated to it that gets updated quite often.  Not against AI as stated before, my opinion is I don't believe AI generated spam belongs on this forum and should be detected and removed.  The users have been doing a great job in the community detecting/reporting posts and investigating.  Not sure you know about this in your bubbles, but many companies are fighting the influx to try and keep it more human and avoid slop responses and even though the forum is not a company, they are doing everything they can as a community.

I am adding to the topic and found it relevant/personal to your and howards situations after reading your post history.  If you both really would not like to speak on or comment about the AI spam this forum is encountering, please say so definitively and start a new conversation continuing discussion on topic, or avoid posting without furthering this thread.

Maybe nutildah's "twisting it" in kaz and howards worlds because he didn't include all the defaming/slanderous remarks that kaz and howard have slung at other members so far in just page 2 of this thread alone?  Troll is just a small slice, and I'm not willing to go back any further or to other threads to find more - this was quite enough.

You have called individuals here biased, defamatory, cyberbully, not fit, despicable, guilty, requesting that users should be banned, and finally, troll is a common one.  

I would recommended cutting out all slander if trying to make a point, especially when responding to valuable advice (even if you don't agree with it).  

Reading the posting history on some of these meta threads is kinda like hearing about a drunken driver claim they can drive perfectly fine just to have them crash one block away and be perfectly healthy but say nothing happened (I didn't crash that car!).  As an outsider, most know they should've stopped before they took off but it isn't clear to all and most of all it isn't clear to the driver.  Until someone like this has had some serious rehabilitation/introspection/behavioral change, we cannot expect to take them seriously or believe their word.

I believe AI generated spam responses is something the forum has been battling recently, there is a whole 94 page thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5456516.0) dedicated to it that gets updated quite often.  Not against AI as stated before, my opinion is I don't believe AI generated spam belongs on this forum and should be detected and removed.  The users have been doing a great job in the community detecting/reporting posts and investigating.  Not sure you know about this in your bubbles, but many companies are fighting the influx to try and keep it more human and avoid slop responses and even though the forum is not a company, they are doing everything they can as a community.

I am adding to the topic and found it relevant/personal to your and howards situations after reading your post history.  If you both really would not like to speak on or comment about the AI spam this forum is encountering, please say so definitively and start a new conversation continuing discussion on topic, or avoid posting without furthering this thread.
