This is true, it would have affected many of us on this forum. I still remember that it happened to me last year December. I set an alarm, the alarm woke me up, I said let me sleep for 7 more minutes, but later woke up after 25 to 35 minutes.
I can not do that if I am planing for exam, or going to work or have something very important to do which I know if I do not do it, can cost me something.
But snake bite is very dangerous. A singer in my in my country died from it recently some days ago when the snake bit her during sleep. Snake bite is killing thousands of people people every year in different countries each.

Personally, why such a thing as minor as sleeping an extra five minutes is an issue is because you don't end up napping for just 5 more minutes, it becomes extended and I've also observed that it's the time you want to wake up the sleep becomes more enjoyable. It's not easy to ignore such a harmful pleasure especially when the weather is cold and comfy but with the right amount of discipline, this can be put under control. Snake bites are deadly. What is even more deadly is when you can't get access to the anti venom.

This five minutes sleep is associated to procastination. Instead of waking up and doing waht you have planned, we tend to want to rest a little. Tiredness could also be the reason why it is hard to resist that sleep. Sometime when you have worked so hard, the desire for that little nap is strong. In most cases five munites sleep is not satisfying which would lead to more minues or even hours of rest. The best way to overcome issues caused by this five munites sleep is to avoid it.

It's said that a nap is also boosting our minds. There are a lot of professionals that do really need that and even with the doctors, they advise to have that power nap. I consider sleep today as a comfort and we all need to do that. We can always go to work and be strong but when we compromise our sleep, how can we work if we don't get enough of it and we're tired. It affects our body and mind absolutely.

The point is that even the little choice we make, that will make us feel that's it's so good will end up messing us up if we don't calm down and check what is wrong because we being comfortable with those choices will make it hard rather than when it has been supposed to be acted on, don't also forget that when you give in little that will make you grow quicker. It also shows that when situation or problem get tough you shouldn't hold back on fixing it. The only way to save yourself from bigger problems later in the future is to be disciplined and always be quick to respond to issues

You have a point though, but none of the things you mentioned are actually life threatening compared to a cobra bite. I guess if you were asked to choose, you wouldn't want to risk getting bitten right?. So back to the topic, No doubt, out of the 8-9 billion people in the world today, this little 5 minutes has affected a decent number of people in one way or the other. Honestly speaking, I have never been a fan of it because I know the risk it poses. I don't know about others, but to me, a very short nap doesn't do much, so I doubt if it's ever worth risking for.

You nailed it, procrastination is very bad for business, beyond waking up, even when you are on duty and you need to do something right away, there is always an urge to postpone it, especially if it is a task with known difficulty, maybe you settle for easier ones and end up totally ignoring the very serious task ahead of you. It is always very important to start with the most difficult task on your table and finish it first before going on to easier ones of equal priority. There is no better time to get started, in fact the best time to begin is right away.

As a student during my higher education, I can relate to what you said. After 5 minutes, it turns out you will sleep for almost 15 minutes to an hour before realizing the time is far spent.
This is indeed the most dangerous 5 minutes, lol. No one would deny that this has never happened to them before. Stress is one reason why this happens most of the time.
