I like the question. As usually I think, sometimes is more important the things que wonder than the answers we can get... but let's turn to the question.

Why do we gamble?
I don't know why you do it, but about me, i do it by feeling adrenaline, that gut of risk and win that nearly anyhting more in this life can provide. Gambling, that's all. The risk and the fear of lose all you have, and the glory of achieven what you haven't achieved before. That wish that is inside your soul.

I don’t think most gamblers are lying when they say they do it for fun, it’s just that when we lose our mindset quietly shifts from I’m enjoying this to I need to get it back & that part is usually the unspoken truth so yeah gambling starts as fun but staying aware of when fun turns into frustration is the real challenge once you know that line it’s easier to stay honest w/ yourself.

Personally I gamble because I want To double my money or capital, I don’t think there’s fun in losing money, so the real fun comes when you’re winning and increasing your money and that’s the reason why people do gamble. Although sometimes I gamble because I just feel like if I don’t do it I might miss out on some winning opportunities even though I don’t have any need for it at that moment probably because I felt I still have some extra cash with me that I can do away with.

You're right every gamblers must not go with the same intentions just like Bitcoin investment some people are only investing for the Short term while some are investing for the long term which those guys who are investing for the short term already knew that Bitcoin doesn't pay off within a Short term even though they might be lucky to make profit in the short term but that's not the right way to go about it, that's how must gamblers are also aware that gambling is mainly for fun but due to one reason or the other they will just divert, so everyone have the right to do whatever that pleases them.

All gamblers gamble for different reasons, mine reasons may be different from yours and yours different from mine but at all there is one important factor responsible for people getting involved into gambling which is to make profit. You might be right perhaps those who claim they only gamble 'for fun' are actually just hoping to get lucky. That could very well be their true motive. Even now, many people likely

People who avoid being criticized do it that way. It's not illogical, there are plenty of ways to have fun with money without gambling. Gambling is simply too risky if you're only doing it "for fun" and not for profit. And honestly, who wouldn't want to make a profit anyway? Sports betting at least gives a higher chance of winning if you understand odds and bet on lower odds. The wins may be small, but a win is still a win.

Everyone has their own reasons for gambling, whether it is for entertainment, profit, or even both. Essentially, everyone has the right to their own reasons or goals for gambling, and they are free to gamble as they please, even to pursue losses. However, everyone needs to realize that gambling should remain within reasonable limits, not excessive. The best way to avoid this is to manage our finances wisely, and only use money we can afford to lose. We, as outsiders, cannot interfere in anyone personal affairs; we can only remind them. We need to continually remind everyone, about how important it is to maintain sanity when gambling, which is the best way for all of us to remain responsible gamblers.

Each gambler has their own goal, not everyone gambles for fun and with proper approach. There are also the people who gamble for money only, and they use random ways. I'm very sure that people who purely gamble for fun, they will never complain because they have nothing to complain.  If they still complain with the losses, it means they never gamble for fun. Also, it can be also about money management. People who complain, they probably lose too much money, it is the money that they can't afford to lose. That's why we must always use safe money and we have certain limit for the funds.

We learn everything after we start growing up as children, and when we reach a certain age where we start understanding things more properly, that's when we start learning about what's happening around us, and what other people are doing, especially the ones we know. This is the reason why it is said that we shouldn't do everything in front of kids because they pick up things that they see us do, and then they do them as well. If you gamble in front of your children, they will think it's a good thing because our father/mother is doing it, and over time, they will have this written in their minds and they might end up becoming gamblers when they grow up.

So even though this might not be the case with most people, some people actually start gambling after seeing others do it, and this can also happen with adults. When someone sees another person gambling and if they are watching them and they manage to get some big win, they will start feeling that they can also have the same experience if they get into gambling as well, so they start gambling because of this. This shouldn't happen, but it does, and I have seen this happening in front of my eyes.

Though, there are other ways to turn your love for sports into financial income. It does not necessarily has to be through betting on sports and fully risking your capital on bookies.

There have been cases (wish I have seen on television) about people who start their own business which highly depends on the love for sports in their communities: sport bars, their own sport association, there are even people who start offering betting services as bookie (instead of participating themselves).

So while engaging in sport betting is indeed the most direct and easier way to get money from your love for sports, it is pretty much just a way out of hundreds of possibilities out there.

I believe that the reality is in between. Several individuals learn to play gambling as a hobby, but when money is laid on the table, feelings are bound to come with it. The person, who is going to play only to have fun, can be disappointed after being beaten by the same opponent a few times, this is how human mind works. When they complain, it does not necessarily imply that they lied they were gambling to have fun but in some cases they have changed their expectations silently as people play. When discipline and limits are absent, chasing losses is likely to start. That is the reason why bankroll management and pre-determined stop limits are more valuable than incentive only. In case one indeed turns gambling into paid leisure and spends no more than he can afford, a loss will not be as painful and the chase will be much easier to flee.

Playing gambling is usually a beginning and eventually the intention is altered as soon as money is introduced. Noone really likes to lose - what is considered fun by people is most likely the level of excitement, the risk and the fact that they can increase their capital. When the aim becomes not to play, but to lose, or to lose the chance, then the risk is that a gambler turns to be more a gambler than ever before. That is where feelings dominate reason. It is better to be straight about the reason why you are gambling whether it is to make money, to have fun or to bored. When it is intended to make profits, then it must be regarded as risk capital, not entertainment money otherwise a frustrating situation would always result.

i don’t think gambling is inherent it’s not something you can inherit from a family member however you can definitely become a gambler by how much we are exposed to it at our early age until we are old enough to have money to gamble

We might as well ask ourselves why we go to expensive restaurants, when we lose money there? Why do we go there, when home is much cheaper and often tastier?
These are endless questions that will never have a definitive answer. Casinos and sports betting, and now even prediction platforms, are a new and exciting world, and like restaurants, we will return there again and again. To escape a reality that has become boring. It cannot be described simply by the word "pleasure."

That’s on point. Even those who say they only play for fun are still hoping to win, it would be a lie to say they don’t. And it would also be a lie to say they don’t feel anything after losing. I’m pretty sure they’re also thinking about coming back again to see if they’ll be lucky next time. Whether you gamble for fun or not, we still aim to win and make a profit every time we play. Maybe those who say that are just responsible gamblers, but just like us, they’re hoping for profit.

When experiencing defeat, it is possible to feel upset or other emotions, but the difference is that some people can control themselves by not continuing to gamble, while others cannot control themselves and continue to gamble.

Personally, I try to set limits and discipline myself to stop when I lose and come back another time, hoping to win. I agree with you that we play to have fun, but we still have the goal of winning. That is the reason why everyone gambles.

There can be many people say that they are gambling merely for fun but honestly I cant believe it . Most people gamble because they want to make some more money by risking their money from their pocket, it is an undeniable fact imo. I do gamble for money but I do not take it as a source of income. If you ask me "do you want to be rich from gambling", sure I want to be rich from gambling but I wont force myself to be rich from gambling.
