I think I was influenced by my friend, whom I accompanied to his gambling session. He used to flick his fingers when he lost, and clasp and shout when he won, so I also did the same. I have no intention of doing these gestures; it just comes naturally, it's an expression of excitement. We have to do it because controlling it will lead to depression. When we lose, we have to show it, so we will not carry that outside of the game

Physically, nothing, but mentally, I say "come on" a lot. I noticed I do it when I am anxious about what the result would be, and hoping that it would be a winning result. I guess it is a way for me to relieve that anxious feeling, and I am guessing a lot of people do the gesturing/signs too because of it.

Gestures express our feelings. I usually shake my head every time the result is not in my favour and clap my hands every time I win.
It's just humans doing these gestures, it comes naturally and unintentional its a sign that you are into the game and enjoying every moment of it, this what makes gambling so exciting we get to release our emotions and this is healthy for us.

It's normal to want express your joy or happiness physically with a sign. Sometimes it is involuntary and you just see yourself making gestures or moving body parts without you knowing. For wins yeah I usually make a low fist bump subconsciously. It's something I've caught my self doing a lot of time.. for a losing streak, I just find my self shaking and vibrating my legs .. not just for losing, it's something I do when ever I'm anxious or agitated and it happens in gambling too. Mostly i do the fist bump and the i also take in deep breaths at intervals. it helps me ease of stress and the tension that comes with gambling some of the times. mostly the breath has of been the one i have always used because that is the one i feel more relieved with and i do it even when i win or loose a bet. it is for me a frequent gesture irrespective of the situation.

I don't do any kind of gesture when I lose a bet, I just change my mindset. When I lose five or six bets in a row, my mind says, "Enough, I shouldn't play anymore today." Thinking this, I give up gambling like that day. I think this works for me because I haven't faced any significant big money losses in gambling in two years, although I haven't won any big bets.

I believe I have come to the stage of gambling where I accept whatever the result of the game is going to be because I don't go beyond my limit, I never gamble with the money I cant afford to lose, and I accept the fact that the house is always favored in every game. So are you saying that cross finger 🤞 changed your luck from bad to good? I am just hearing this for the first time, where are you from? Maybe this has something to do with your country?

This sounds weird, signs shouldn't have such power, maybe you believe that crossing your finger will change your luck and that's what you get, sometimes what you choose to believe in will come to your rescue.

I don't see the need for me to believe in such because I don't normally take gambling this serious, I risk my $10 every week like I have always done, this is what I can afford to lose and I don't have to do anything to try and boost my luck but thanks for sharing.

There is no reason to waste time making gestures, the gambler would find out himself that it makes no difference. However, a lot of proofs has shown how humans love doing things they have no understanding about, articles may have been written about those gestures, but the reader may never get to realize or fully grasp how to implement them, doing a thing like that often and often with no much or significant changes should tell the player how low the chances of working is for such processes.

I didn't really notice the gestures I make when gambling. But it seems I often clench my left fist or scratch the back of my head in certain situations. I don't know if it affects anything in gambling. It just seems like a reflex that often happens during the gambling activities I do. Next time, I might pay more attention to my habits.

I don't make gestures or signs with my hands while gambling, whatever streak I'm in will only tell on my face, it's either I hiss, sigh or just smile if I'm winning. This is a weird post I must say because I have never put into cognizance, the signs that being me luck or have any specific one in mind besides the sign of the cross which is a normal thing for people in this part of my country mostly when they are faced with unbelievable situations or one that require courage.

This is not involuntary unless you pay attention to it and start controlling it. Might work for you, but not for many. I’m just being realistic, bro. The kind of games you’re playing are mostly luck-based, so people end up doing little things or rituals to attract luck. So yeah, do whatever makes you feel lucky.

If we all agrees that every gamblers have gesture attributes, why then do we say we're not emotionally attached with our bets?
It's undeniable that it's emotions over the games as it's playing and so on your heart keep beating over your lost.
So you're probably accepting it as a challenge that you must recover your lost. Maybe that's the gesture for some while others may ride the emotions over after the time.
