You are correct that the chance of being winer or loser is 50/50 but the chance of 1% can be too much problem to them who are not able to bear the loss. Though the chance of being winer/loser is 50/50 I thik better not to invest any money which cant aford if lose.
You that right, and there are some gamblers that don't want to take that chances, they always expect their game to be in their favour, even though gambling as made it clear that the game is a 50/50 and that is if luck is on their side, they got to understand that games are built to favour the house most and to give the players less advantage and if they continue to play this way, they are left with no options that to jeopardise their peace of minds.
If you refused to accept the fact that gambling is about luck and small chance of winning, there is possibility of not making out of gambling and if all you have is rely on gambling for money, there is very chance that the person will become addicted to gambling. Many gamblers refused to accept this realization of gambling but that's what it's. If you don't believe it that it's luck and you want to make money form gambling by all means, you will get loss you never even expect.
Sometimes it's good to have some determination and want to make money from gambling even if you are getting loss but the earlier you pack your bags and leave, the better your Chace of recovery quickly. You might not even fee any need to gamble again if you leave quickly after knowing your mistake but if you become too stubborn about it and refused, you will be helpless even if you are determine to leave gambling for good.
