Still aiming for profit in Sports Betting despite losses?

And why are you still not giving up on the goal of becoming profitable someday?

Most of us probably didn’t start winning right away. For many, it’s years of trial and error, blown bankrolls, bad decisions, and emotional betting before learning anything real.

So what keeps you going?

Is it discipline? Better bankroll management? Improved analysis? Or just believing that experience will pay off in the long run?

Or maybe you already accepted that this is more of a hobby than a business, and profit is just a bonus?

I’m in negative profit overall in both sports betting and casino games. Not a huge total amount but still a decent if I will just use it on something else.

I don’t value all my losses as a waste since I consider as payment for the entertainment I get on gambling. I’m still gambling not to chase my losses but to get more entertainment and possibly profit on lucky days.

Gambling should be considered as form of entertainment only which means every gambler should gamble responsibly.

I'm also in negative. I don't keep track of my bets, but I would say that in total throughout my life I will have lost around 1k, which is less than what I've spent in alcohol I think, for example (and I don't drink much either), so I'm okay with it. For me, it's nothing more than another hobby, I don't chase any victory. I get little consistent loses I don't really mind, with a few good wins every now and then that make my day, and for me that's enough.

I never calculated it in detail, i thought it was just a waste of time, besides calculating it would not return the losses that had been lost.

As someone who only place bets on Boxing and some MMA fights, I'd say, yeah, negative too (especially on my recent bets), but I think that's only because I stopped analyzing every fight and just tend to bet based on my guts.  
I started betting on Boxing when Pacquaio was on the height of his career and those were profitable times. Nowadays, bets on my end are placed whenever interesting fights happen and more often than not, it's usually a guessing game for me. Result? Mostly negative. Not much though, since my bets aren't that colossal.
Why I haven't stopped? Old habit, I guess. I find it entertaining regardless of the outcome.

So you’re not really aiming to be profitable in sports betting, which means you probably won’t feel what serious bettors go through when they’re always trying to find different ways to improve their strategy and win. You won’t really see sports betting as a long-term journey either, since you treat it more as entertainment. But of course I respect that, everyone has their own preference and way of playing.

I have incured so much losses in sports betting than I have profited, but yet I have not quitted, not that am so much comfortable with gambling despite incurring more losses, but what is still keeping me gambling is that , I don't gamble with the amount of money I cannot afford to loose. I don't gamble with big money and that is why even I loose my bet, I still summon up courage to gamble another time. Some persons have also quitted from gambling because gambling have affected them so much that they have lost good money and even valuable properties without recovering them.
Many gamblers have had bitter experience in their gambling journey, such as broken home, lost of money and other valuable asset and have even suffered emotionally and such a person is meant to quit gambling.

I guess I can proudly say I’m one of the few who’s still aiming to be profitable, even after losing a lot of money in gambling already. And when I say a lot, it’s still within what I can afford to lose, so no big deal.

Sports betting is fun, sure, but it becomes more interesting when you actually challenge yourself. That’s what I’m doing. I’m aiming to be profitable, something a lot of people don’t even try because they don’t believe it’s possible in the first place.

It's currently, like a hobby to mr because I don't bother about my losses since it's the money that I have already assigned for gambling. Any money that I assign for gambling is already gone to me so I don't worry about it. If you want to treat gambling as a business, you will regret it because it's gon be losses upon losses. Basically, I bet with the minimum amount, and the funds left over so that I don't feel like I'm losing a lot of what I bet. I don't worry too much about calculating how much I lost because in soccer betting, you can bet with the minimum amount. If from the start you aim for victory without having a betting limit then it will slowly destroy your finances.

Fair warning, but this is really for bettors who don’t believe it’s possible to be profitable in sports betting. We already have pro bettors out there, and we don’t call them “pros” if they’re not making money, at least most of them.

That alone proves it’s possible. The real problem is that most of us just don’t have the skills yet. And it all starts with mindset. If you don’t even believe you can do it, then you’ll never achieve it in the first place.

If this is how you see gambling then I think you are on the right track but that does not mean that gamblers that who gamble for profit does not know what they are doing although you never said that, but we should know that as long as those profit seekers in gambling are gambling responsibly then it is fine, although what you said about individual gamblers not to concentrate in the profit alone, that it should be more on the entertainment and fun than the profit is right, however, we should not forget that as Long as different gamblers purpose and target why the started gambling differs, we should expect things like this

To be realistic when you understand the purpose of gambling you would really know that most times profits isn’t the major thing in gambling because there are people who just come to gamble to free up their pains or sorrow out there while there are people who come to gamble just to increase their balance or as a place of doubling their income.
And of course, it’s good for people to make profits from gambling but when they are not profits in gambling they becomes very slacks while gambling, but there are people who even when they are losing they still keep trying.

If you’re not really serious about sports betting, then you don’t even need to track every win and loss, because honestly, that will just stress you out. Just bet small, enjoy it, and hope you still feel the thrill.

For me though, betting very small doesn’t really give that same excitement anymore, maybe because we all have different ranges depending on our financial situation. What feels big to one person might feel small to another. At the end of the day, it really comes down to your goal. Some people just want to have fun, and that’s fine. Others are more ambitious, maybe like me. I actually try to be profitable and prove to myself that it’s possible to win in the long run. I’ve read about others doing it, but I want to experience it myself.

Honestly I can't track of it but maybe it's around $1,000 too. When I first started gambling my goal was actually have profit even if its small but as the time goes by, I realized that unless you are consistent in winning or good at really analyzing team or at least focus on one sports because placing bet in different sports and just relying on stats or odds will not really going to help you out. Right now, I accepted that I wouldn't bring back my losses and my goal was to actually have a little thrill on the matches I've look forward to especially in E-sports.

That’s correct, losing on gambling is part of the game and in fact every gambler should now that there’s a high chance of losing than winning due to house edge.

We are continuously betting even we are in lose because the entertainment is what we seek on each of our game not pure profit.

It’s just a bonus if we won while having fun on the game.

I do everything. I spend more time analyzing the data, but my luck is still far from me. I don't know why, but I accept the reality. So, instead of aiming for a profit, I forget about it. I rather think this is just an entertainment, so I gamble calmly and with less pressure.

I understand that gambling is not meant for everyone. What I mean is that not all are lucky enough to make money here. Of course, we win, but we lose more. I know there are successful gamblers out there, but we admit the reality that there are a lot of unsuccessful gamblers.

Well I started betting with sports before going into casinos and sometimes I do feel it's easier based on the fact that you have things to make analysis from like the strength of the teams, individual player statistics and so on. The only downside is the fact that I will have to wait for hours for my bet to be actualize wether loss or win. I've made some money here and there especially in my local currency and I do not really keep tabs on how much I have won or lost, but I do know that my wins are more, not just in numbers but in the amount.  I don't know maybe I will be able to get the figures but I highly doubt it because I've used multiple platforms some of which I no longer have access to

While it’s okay optimistic when gambling, it’s important for gamblers to draw the line between being optimistic and and entitlement. When gamblers become overly optimistic about winning, if not moderated, could result to a feeling of entitlement, whereby every aspect of the gambler become too focused on winning and losing is no longer in the equation, so if they eventually lose (which is the most likely outcome) they become very disappointed and some even refuse to accept the losses and they keep pushing until they’re left with absolutely nothing.
