Really, I think everyone can attest to the fact that after a loss—especially repeated ones—the desire to try and get back what you lost by gambling again arises. It's a sudden compulsion, along the lines of "Maybe the next bet will take care of all the losses." I think a lot of people who have been gamblers know this feeling. Losing is not merely losing money but also losing face and dashed hopes.
But as time passed I began to understand that the mentality of "getting my money back as quickly as possible" was what was causing me to make some really emotional decisions. Instead of stepping back, we double down or make moves we wouldn't usually make. From that, I learned that experience is important, but what's more important is how you respond to that experience.
Now I just try to be a little more realistic about the betting. I still bet, but I try to treat it as entertainment, not a major source of income. With this in mind, the stress doesn’t seem as great.

Betting on sports has been a long time, since several years ago, about the loss we never calculate it, what is clear is that we lose a lot when accumulated. The goal to be profitable is not easy, I always hope that with a small bet can win with high odds.

So I always try to bet luck with a small amount.

For me, the important thing is that bankroll management must be good, about the analysis that we have sometimes it can be right or wrong in the bet, this cannot be guaranteed in the long run.

A gambler gambles everyday to a point where he no longer looking for profits but in for entertainment, but gets happiness if luck certainly finds him at any point in time. He stay consistent in sport betting untill he wins, if he loses, he stay consistent also.

What's behind this is that, the ability to stop gambling no longer strong, and the zeal to wanting winners dies out while the urge to keep trying and seeing it as fun and entertainment increases. No consistent player will ever continue betting because he wants to win someday, he keeps going because it's part of the life.

I would like to think in this scope, that influence has a lot to do with it, as compared to discipline, improved analysis and it being a hobby than a business.
The kind of friends I have and colleagues as much as relatives included, see sportsbetting as a normal topic of discussion and bonding, and am used to it that my regular play time and results of loss or near big wins, is an experience that is fun to hear and learn from.
That's why I keep playing and where the discipline comes into play is when I try to manage my bankroll, my emotions and decisions.

That is the game and that is what makes it gambling, can't recall how much I hv lost but in other to keep myself busy from being board, I just have to continue, one has to keep a proper bank roll management in other to be a successful and responsibly gambler, aside from that continuing the game without any wins gives you the advantage to know more because you tend to understand and have experience more in your losses, except you are just paying attention and after the money.

Already accepted this for quite some time now. If we're talking about losses since the day I started sports betting, I've had enough that it can almost purchase 2 new cars (not those expensive ones, lol).
Nowadays, I only enjoy watching my favourite sports, and betting is just adding another layer of excitement while watching the game, and yeah, profit is just a bonus.
It has never crossed my mind that I can somehow chase all those losses. I think I'm just lucky or shall I say, disciplined for being able to understand things about  gambling.

I'm not a heavy sports bettor and just mainly bet on games like the NBA or our local basketball. So I don't consider it like making money for me, it's just all for fun watching the games and at the same time betting on it.

But I don't think that we should really consider gambling as a way to make money. Because it's not, it won't give us what we are looking for like a regular job does to us or a business. I even see gamblers says that they are in the negative so that proves my point. Just gamble for fun and entertainment for me. I have been betting on sports for several decades, both through offline and online sports betting, but I do not consider it a business. Instead, I see it purely as trying my luck with small amounts. If you ask me why I am still actively betting on sports despite sometimes losing, the answer can be found in the last paragraph of your thread.

I usually place single bets on a few matches, and the results are always random, but at least I don’t blow my entire budget on one bet. Sometimes I also try parlay bets with $1–$5 stakes. For me, that’s a small amount and not a big deal even if I lose.

While it's true that gambling is atwo way dimension as you simply put it, it's important not to overlook the fact that one side is more probable than the other. due to house edge, it's a lot more easier to lose than it is to win, so while we remain optimistic about winning and planning ahead to win, let's always have it at the back of our head that winning in gambling isn't just about planning it or working consistently towards it, while these are crucial and could increase one's chances, winning still depends on luck.

I lose significant amount from sports betting, but until now I'm still into it, not trying to prove that I'll be profitable soon, but I just accepted the fact that when you enter gambling, none of us will make winning guarantees.

Earlier on in my life I was really scared of getting into gambling. And this fear was as a result of the series of losses that most folks usually encounter while gambling. But then l had to give it a try later on, after getting pressured by some of my guys..Let me just say that even though I have been a fan of football since my childhood days, I still had to wait and got into gambling when I became mentally and emotionally ready for whatever the outcome may be...

Even though I haven't been in sport betting for too long like others, I still have made lots of loss, some of which even made me to stop gambling for some while before I later resume d..This losses just confirms one things, and that is that losses is a part of gambling whether gamblers like it or not.. inspite of the loss I have encountered so far I'm still gambling, and what still keep me going is how strict I have recently become when it comes to setting limits....I gamble only with the money that I can afford to lose, so that when the loss comes I wouldn't be all that disturbed...

I’ve been here for so long already, and I still haven’t lost that idea in my mind that one day I might become like a pro who actually makes a living from sports betting. I’m not taking it too seriously right now though, because of course I have a stable job and a small business to run.

I wanted to pick the “better or improved analysis” and then I saw this part and I knew instantly that this was meant for me. I would have still picked the improved analysis but it’s just that my whole gambling activities haven’t been constant lately, I tend to to take longer breaks than when I was still chasing profits disguised as “fun betting”. Now I can go months and not feel a thing about gambling.

I now take it as a hobby, gamble only when I want to gamble and not because I want to earn some extra cash (I still do it sometimes though) but it’s fewer than in the past.

I don't think people really keep track since they started betting of where they are. Most are doing it in hopes of profit, but find themselves chasing. Probably where most go wrong is the chasing, but once you start for the day you're always looking to get ahead whereas if you were being disciplined and making up a unit here and a unit there, you might find yourself in profitland at some point.

I've been gambling over the years and in my experience, what keeps me going is the belief that I can't be unlucky every day and any day I don't show up to gambling and taking risks might be the day I might win. So that's why I keep gambling.

I don't know the exact location because my first experience was seven years ago, and I've been on hiatus for a while now. However, I've been betting more frequently on sports, especially soccer, for the past two years. I don't know the exact numbers of my losses and wins in sports because I have a mixed history, sometimes betting on sports, sometimes on slots and other casino games. I've been through everything in the world of gambling, which has made me realize that I shouldn't overthink losses and profits, otherwise I'll feel guilty, because the losses are certainly much larger than the profits I've made.

Your last sentence resonates with me. Although I hesitate to consider it a hobby, it simply makes watching sports more exciting because of the betting involved. But don't forget to constantly evaluate and learn from every mistake in any bet.

I have been gambling for some time right now, I can’t really recall when I started gambling, but it has been for some time now. I have been gambling for some time now, and I don’t even have records of my gambling win and loses, I can’t even imagine having a book which I will be using to keep records of my gambling wins and loss, I just think that’s not really necessary, and I don’t even know if there will be someone that will be keeping records like that.

I was gambling offline even with my friends, but the first day I tried online gambling, I lost and I kept on gambling, but I lost everything which I deposited that I wanted to gamble with. But when I got to understand things better, I started winning.

Long time ago, I already accepted that gambling is a hobby, and not a business and I do treat it like a hobby and not a business, anything I make I do use it to take care of myself.
