How long have you been betting on sports already?

It's fair to say it's been around for quite a while, probably active for about 6 years, that doesn't count sports betting with fiat, six years only with crypto casinos.

Roughly, how much do you think you’ve lost so far (if you’re okay sharing)?

I don't remember that, because I don't record losses, but every sports bet I place has a win and loss ratio of 5/2, you could say two losses and three wins, that's an average calculation.

And why are you still not giving up on the goal of becoming profitable someday?

For now, I haven't thought about giving up, because sports betting is exciting, because the games we face vary, whether it's the team playing, the opponent and so on. sports betting has real challenges for the gambler himself, that's the excitement, maybe if I win a large amount of sports bets I still place, maybe.

In the midst of your desire to win even though you might have lost for so long, the general acceptance that gambling is not a business helps you to reduce your expectation, accept your wins and not get too bothered when you don't win for so long. As long as it is gambling, there is no guarrantte that winning is assured. you win when you win and take every other outcome the way they present itself knowing fully well the unpredictable nature of gambling.

The rate at which you are profitable while gambling is just a function of luck and a bit of your personal effort that comes as a result of your thorough analysis. both the gamblers that have had quite an handful of losses and gains are all optimistic of future wins and that is what keeps them going even in the times when they have lost so frequently.

Honestly, I don't know what's keeping me going. I just know that I'm not putting in much money, which is very cool with me, and I also don't bet too much. It's when I feel like it or when I consider some ongoing game worthy of my bet. If not, in gambling, I spend more on slots than actually putting my skill to work in predicting game outcomes on a regular basis.

This is an achievement, to be engaged in gambling and not putting much money in it at the same time. Before anyone gambles he or she should know that gambling has to do with loosing and winning and it's very pertinent in the game and what makes the game interesting is the optimistic nature of it and one trying to win back what he has lost even when you are on loosing streak you keep playing consistently because there's something within you that gives you that motivation that you should keep trying and someday winning will come.

There are things that are very important to take into cognizant before gambling and that's been able to analyze games, odds, stats and team performances and having a budget for oneself and a better bankroll Management, this will help curtail excessive habit of gambling and loosing money but if the gamblers only source of income is gambling then the above mentioned factors won't be able to curtail his habits because the gambler will be dependent on bets to survive.

What keeps me going is the fun of it because since i gamble within my discretion, it has never been a problem for me over the years and while i do experience losses, i also win sometimes.

Discipline is one thing that will also help you as a gambler. when you say no i don't want to gamble today or let me take a break for sometime and you stick to it. If the experience pays off someday i will be glad, if it doesn't then i have nothing to lose.

Of course, gambling is more like a hobby to me since i don't have many fun activity i engage in during my leisure time so if peradventure i win, it's just like a compensation for engaging in gambling but not as a way to make profit or an income.

If gambling is done properly, as if we view it as just entertainment, then it's fine. If you do it as a hobby, it's never a problem for you. Winning or losing is perfectly normal. One factor that must be maintained and adhered to when gambling is discipline, as this is how responsible gambling is carried out. Winning is reasonable, as it's compensation for gambling. Consider it a lucky break, but if gambling becomes a hobby, hopefully you'll be more careful.

You are quite right. If one gambles for enjoyment, he does not focus on money. Do you believe that a gambler always gambles for fun?  I never believe it. Because most gamblers gamble to make money. If gambling gave people peace of mind, then all people would be happy. I think the side is the bad side, which attracts people slowly. I attended the most interesting lecture on mathematical probability theory at university. The lecturer was a professor with an excellent knowledge of probability theory and had been lecturing for over 30 years.🙋

He explained the probabilities of various events using the example of a coin toss. "If you toss a coin, it will land either heads or tails," he said.

"The probability of the coin landing heads is 50 percent, and the probability of it landing tails is also 50 percent," the professor told us. "But the probability of the coin landing on its edge or hanging in the air is 0 percent." With these words, the professor tossed the coin. The coin flew into the air, landed on its edge, and rolled under the benches. No one saw it again...🧖

That's how I realized that mathematical probability theory is a very fascinating and interesting science! I also realized that practice doesn't always correspond to theory.  You can always encounter an unexpected event (and even a miracle).🧚

It is not because the gambler have strong heart but rather, it is normal for gamblers to aim for profit despite those losses.  One of the reason why many gamblers still continue to gamble is to profit.  Although many think of it as an entertainment, there is also an underlying intention why the keep on betting and even make their bet bigger.  That is to try their luck to win.

I do not think that enduring can make one profitable in gambling, it is to become lucky and hit it big one day or have a consecutive lucky streak to bag profit after those losses.  After all, the gambling result is random, and there is always a variable that makes it unpredictable.  Enduring alone does not guarantee a win, but being lucky gives a 100% winning result.

Can folks still see gambling as a source of entertainment even when they are experienciing constant loses?  Truth be told, gambling is a game of chance, so whatever the mindset ( entertainment wise/ profit based) you bring into gambling you cannot escape the possibility of incurring losses.. Gamblers have to understand this, and ensure that they engage in a strict bankroll management, so as not to risk using all of your money at ones..
