I have this personal theory that nothing in this life is actually bad, what is bad is the addiction.

I dont really know how to explain that much but if you look at society at large, you will find out that most of the things you do that are generally considered bad in your local environment is probably welcomed somewhere else on the planet but the universal thing that is always frown upon is the addiction. Addiction is what breeds other problems, like if you dont "gamble" or take "drugs" you will not really have the urge to do anything.... I mean that is a stretch and if you start seeing life like this you will understand that truly there are limit to certain behaviors but only you as a person can set those limit.

Also when it has gotten to the point where they now adopt those things as a lifestyle and feel they can’t live without it, it becomes so hard to detach themselves from it. People who are addicted to drugs or gambling, it takes them a lot to actually quit, since this things have become part of their life, but they can only be helped out of it only when they realize how bad it has affected them and how much they really need to stop. It is good to set limits as you’ve mentioned, it saves from addiction.

Funnily enough,most gambling addicts are not aware they’re addicted because they usually think they’re doing the right thing.Not until they’ve lost their money and relationship with friends and family that’s when they would come to full realization.As for drug addiction,the number of youths that are into drugs is so mind blowing,their organs are been destroyed by those hard drugs they swallow and inject into their body.Both addiction can destroy one’s life but I think drugs addiction destroys faster because one’s organ can be destroyed and the chances of running a successful organ transport is low but when you’re addicted to gambling the effect has nothing to do with the organs functioning in your body.

Apart from gambling and drug addiction, the other addictions you mentioned are also not good for anyone because everyone has a value of time and if they cannot use that time in the right place, then they can never achieve anything good. However, these addictions can be easily overcome. But you cannot easily overcome gambling and drug addiction. And it is not just killing your time, gambling will waste your money and destroy you financially and drugs will harm you physically and also keep you mentally unstable due to which you will not be able to enjoy good time with your family in any way. However, drug addiction causes more physical and mental harm to the person addicted to gambling than gambling. If you are healthy, you can earn money but if you are physically and mentally ill, you will not be able to achieve anything in your whole life.

Addiction is a very bad thing to get into, and there's no form of addiction that's better than the other, so we should do everything within our power to protect ourselves and loved ones from getting into any form of addiction. There's this guy in my neighborhood he's a drug addict, if you give him money maybe to buy clothes or shoes for himself, he will use the money to buy drugs, and when there's no money for him to buy drugs, he will go and steal money to buy drug, putting his family members in shame.

I agree with you that any kind of addiction can basically destroy a person's life. And the two most harmful addictions are gambling addiction and drug addiction.
Even I think these two are interconnected with each other, like those who are addicted to gambling, they gamble beyond their ability to lose and after losing, they become addicted to drugs out of depression. And among drug addicts, it is also noticeable that they gamble to have little money to buy drugs so that they can easily double the money and buy drugs.

One thing people fail to understand is that addiction doesn't just take away money from your pocket. It's away one of the most precious thing in life which is time, the time you are supposed to use in doing valuable and meaningful things that will help your life, the person will end up wasting it for that addiction and after they realize themselves they discover that alot of opportunities have been missed. As someone who has seen the effect of drug addiction first-hand, I don't think it is something that I would even wish for my enemies. Gambling addiction is bad no denying it, but when it comes to drug addictions the negative impacts excluding death is just too much. Even if you eventually opt out of it, you would still receive a lot of backlashes from the ones that has managed to enter your system and if you're not lucky your organs would have gotten really bad before you finally get the rehabilitation.
