Hi,
I have a piece of paper I saved from before the BCH fork.
I was keeping my BTC in an Electrum wallet on the PC at the time.
I have a 25 word seed straight from the Electrum wallet.
I also have a "Password to encrypt wallet keys" written down.
After the fork, in March of 2018, I sent my BTC to a new Trezor wallet.
And I saved this old Electrum seed and marked it "Use this seed to claim forks"
I have installed Electrum and recovered the wallet successfully, and it shows zero BTC.
For extra safety, I also sent my BTC from the Trezor wallet to a new Trezor wallet because I wanted to upgrade to the new type of Trezor anyway.
Now I want to use the old 25 word seed from Electrum to recover BCH.
I'm having trouble because it doesn't seem to like the 25 word seed.
Thanks for the help!
the thing is Electrum doesn't use BIP39 and that 25th word is actually an extra passphrase. if you don't enter it exactly, it derives the wrong address and won't see the BCH
they need to try restoring with the seed + that password they wrote down
