Money means different things for the rich and poor, they view the concept of money differently and that is why the rich keeps getting richer while the poor gets poorer. Simple fact is that the rich have structured money to work for them while the poor works for money and that is why the poor will continue to work for the rich all their lives unless they struggle to get out of that trap. The rich invests their money and the profit or proceeds of their money will continue to take care of their expenses but the can only afford to take care of their immediate needs, they barely have enough to save.

It's not as if money becomes too much for the rich that they don't know what to do with it or they don't value it, I believe that the reason is that they are self sufficient. If a rich person doesn't work to sustain and increase their wealth the rich person will gradually become poor.

So I wonder, is there a level of income where more money no longer improves happiness? Or are very wealthy people simply out of touch with how most people live?

Elon Musk would have said that because of how many governments in the world are taken down Grok. Many countries are also making investigations about what Grok maybe doing to violate regulations. I remember French authorities recently went to xAI office without any requests but with force for further investigation. All these can not make Elon Musk happy at all.

Or what about when Trump maken a law that did not favour Elon Musk EV vehicle that caused the fight between him and Trump last year, he can not also be happy about such situations. There are sometimes that rich people may not be happy.

Let us leave Elon Mush aside, what about sickness and some life situations that will not make a rich man happy. There are a lot of circumstances that rich people may not be happy.

You have a point, that's the reason why its pointless to compare people's achievements because success is viewed and measured differently or should I say it's a thing of perspective. Only those without money are usually saying and justifying that money can't buy happiness. Challenge whoever says that and ask them to give their money to you so that you can be happy. With that, it only proves one thing about money in front of them and that's about being happy when you have money. You're free to do everything and buy all of those stuff that will make you happy. I'm not rich and I honestly do not know what rich people are thinking. Because there are many different type of rich people, not all wealthy individuals think alike. So even if I were rich, I could not represent all of them

But I believe everyone has the desire to become wealthy and find ways to increase their assets. No one wants to be poor, but sometimes life is too harsh for some people, and they have no choice but to accept their fate

But when the poor have money, they do not plan how to spend it, but they start living a luxurious life temporarily. I don't agree that you generalize rich think better and poor think worse, even i also confirm that mindset play important role on financial decision maker.I see wide gap on information access, networking, exposure on opportunity, capital limitation and capacity and the widest is risk resilience. We must also understanding that rich people see money differently not because they are more moral and intellectual but they grew up on environtment where investing is the daily topic, they have strong safety net when dragging down by failure, tehy have access for profesional advisor and mentoring and they have unlimited emergency fund so never have any pressure on this basic necessity. Everything is mindset, right now if you dont really have anything of value to cherish ofcourse you will need to get something and having money can be an easy way to find that value you will cherish. This is the literally the most common difference between rich and poor people, just that the way that the user has described it is incorrect and is probably due to a combination of reasons: insufficient English knowledge and inadequate knowledge in this very area. The correct way to state it would be that, on average, a rich person tends to think often about multiplying their money while poor people do not. There are some caveats here and I'll just give brief examples. There are many people both male and female, who are technically rich due to shared assets with their spouse, but they do not think about these things at all -- similarly many of their children are completely degenerate and often lost. Furthermore, poor people think and some others try to imply (like you did) that thinking about making extra money sometimes like once every few days and not doing anything about it is the same as what rich people do. Unless you are thinking about something frequently or even all the time and doing something about it, it does not count at all. People who are failures or didn't achieve more than mediocre success tend to use a "but I also do all of that" as an excuse to play the envious blame game on rich people with things like "they inherited the wealth or the connection, that's why they won".

These statements are often an excuse by the poor to cope with their reality and failures and you will see this nonsense being repeated online in average people websites. Most people who are poor are not happy either, so they are both poor and unhappy whereas rich people are just unhappy. Who has it better?   The other two points at also moot. Why would someone want to bring back loved ones? That is very unhealthy so a pointless argument. And lastly, while money does not bring back time it has the ability to save a lot of time for you if you utilize it right so it is as close as it gets. While people are working for a salary like slaves, someone is saving 160-200 hours per month by not having a job. You can save a lot of time simply with this, let alone other changes that can be done only with money.
