How do they make line by line quoting

I recently discovered that anything written in blue ink is actually a clickable link to something else, that's amazing it makes navigation alot easier and easy to save locations you'll like to revisit.

Here is my questions concerning this forum. First regarding how people reply to specific lines of your post like quoting the person. I've seen some person do it and it makes their reply look more presentable and neat. I tried it on my previous post but i got confused on how to make reply to specific lines of post.

Secondly I'm seeing +merit at the top right corner of every person's post and also on my profile, does it have any monetary value(like a bitcoin faucet) like  most social media platforms?

Is not really difficult.
When you click the quote option at the top right of the message you want to respond to, it will automatically open a reply page for that person. Just like this:

“The persons message you are replying to” 
[/quote]

So on that page, all you need to do is type your response directly below the quoted Tag…

“YOUR RESPONSE”

You can also use the preview option (which you will find alighted in blue below the persons reply page) to check how your reply will look before you finally post it.

Another option is to manually quote the message yourself, just place a quote tag at the beginning of the text you are replying to and another quote tag at the end. Like this:

[/quote]

After that, you simply write your response below the quoted Tag.

No merit is not a monetary value, you get merited when you make a quality post, and you can as well merit someone if you think them made a quality post or contribution..

And how to merit a post is not difficult as well, you just have to click the merit option at the top right of the post you want to merit, you will then be taken to another page, were you will see your available sendable merit (sMerit) which you can send to other people..
You should read through the small message on the meriting page before sending merit to anybody..

I will advice you go through this topic by Lauda to get an understanding of most of the your questions, and questions you will probably have later on.

And the purpose for the merit is simple just for ranking up:

you can just paste this posting style on your notepad so whenever you want to make a post like this, you just bring it out and edit it to your taste.
The title you want to give to what you are posting
if you do not want to make use of this, you can still visit a post that is of this nature and quote it copying the part that is relevant to you using the pattern of quote in that post and just edit it to your taste.

There is a lot you can learn by just quoting someone else's post and going through it to see what the poster did. as a learn one thing, try to practice it and it becomes easier learning by trying things out and ensuring that your post is adding quality to it every time you post.

The quote option helps a lot in making things clearer. just quote and edit off anything that you do not need. that way, you post becomes matured.

I noticed this too. I need to read, understand, find sources, and only then formulate it in a way that creates not only a citation example but also a clickable link..Maybe I'm old but I don't know it. It seems like someone was born with a robotic brain that works like a computer.

That's quite easy. You just have to know how to use the "Quote" bb tag. Check the image below again.

I'll attach an image here using "img" tag.

Look at this image very carefully. See how have i divided your comment (red boxs) into 3 portions using "Quote" tags and then replied to you (green) individually? Well that's how you do it. And "hr" tag adds a straight black line (I have wrote this specific line after taking the ss, so it isn't there btw).

Every prompt features and codes in the forum has being made to work friendly and for anyone who wants to really learn it doesn't take much time before they know how to use them.

A simple trick I was using to learn when I initially started as newbie was to click on the quote button by the right side on the user comment and study how they made all that neatly posts with each feature and code  used. Gradually I was able to know how to use almost everything.
