Some of the biggest crypto casinos around started without licences, simple trust... So I am not sure that the licence is as important as we think it is. Since having a license doesn't guarantee anything, it's not here to protect the players... it exists to protect casinos themselves.

I am not a big fan of regulations, but they are coming. I guess we can hope that some of them will be more about protecting players and fair play, not just casinos and how they tax.

As the title "dont trust casino without license" means that OP is trying to say that we should trust casino with license only which is basically may lead newbies into something  worse if they are relying on license.
It is fine to take license as one of factors in trusting a casino but it should not be taken as the first or the only factor.
I have to agree that license is not protecting players since I have never seen a real case when license regulator protect players.
For me, regulator is just another business which is trying to make money from the gambling business.

I completely agree! A casino without a license and without clear terms is already a huge red flag. Basically, it's a case of "trust us and deposit money," and that never ends well, does it?

A license isn't a guarantee of anything, but at least it shows there are some rules, audits, KYC, etc.

These opaque sites usually start by paying out, gain trust, and then freeze withdrawals or disappear.

At the very least, checking the license and reputation should be the basic requirement before depositing money; that's how I see it...

I don't think I have played on a casino that was not already licensed before I started using it because I usually play only on old reputable casinos and if it is a new casino, it must have obtained a licence because I also do not trust unlicensed casinos, they have a high chance to scam player compare to casinos that actually stressed themselves to pass the licensing criterias. It's not 100% certain that even a licensed casinos can not scam customers but it's more rare.

A casino without a ToS is already a red flag for me because it is normal that every casino must have such as guidelines for players to adhere to before they register with them but in a situation where it is not availabke likewise licesnse too, I just pass them and go for another because even if they assure players to be up and doing, it could just be one of those regular trao they do initiate at their very beginning of being a good casino till they realise their target of what they want then they begin to act funny and the next thing you know they abscond with players fund.

These licenses don't really mean a thing. There will be one or two, maybe the Curacao one will do cursory checks and have at least a bit of staffing behind the regulator, but they are definitely inclined to continue renewing a license year after year. They can pretty much ignore the majority of complaints, unless you are a pure scam outfit which gets heat from many different gambling regulators and is just bad publicity - then you'll not get much support. They are on private islands thousands of miles into the ocean and know that most people would never be able to do anything even if they visited the regulator offices in person. It's more trouble than it's worth to pursue these through court systems, especially when most people are losing a few hundred dollars at most.

This looks like the same casino that’s been hot in the gambling section lately, but now their website isn’t even accessible anymore. It really feels like they were planning to scam from the very beginning. Because they didn’t require KYC, a lot of us were impressed at first, so in the end they just made us look stupid. I am not sure a license brings any good thing to the users to be honest, it made the life bitter for most with strict regulations, invading privacy from tax agencies and so on. But now it becomes inevitable, people will likely to avoid playing in an unregulated casino because they believe it brings them security and fairness.

As a user I always look at their reputation on the forum, new ones may not be that much trusted and we have ones like stake that is operating since the early days of crypto so users need to prioritize what is important for them.

Exactly, and even licensed casinos are usually strict with KYC, because having a license doesn’t stop there.
It doesn’t guarantee they’re 100% safe, but they still have rules to follow, and if they break those, their license can be revoked.

I barely jump from casino to another casinos because most times you wouldn't know the casino that could be good or trustworthy, however, even though they have license there are also a higher probability for them to scam people gamblers. Just of few day I had a recent casino that launches their campaign last week now happened to turned out to be scam where they also ran a review campaign and after launching their signature campaign and participants weren't able to have access to make withdrawal to the money paid on their site, and I also had they scam someone around $40k and currently their site is being shut down. The thing is that we can't really predicts the casino that would be that nice and trustworthy to use.

I agree with this.
Most of the casinos accused of scamming their players are also licensed so it is not enough.

Other things that one could consider in addition to being licensed is the reviews from relevant platforms with bitcointalk being one of them. Relevant platforms I say because they are written by real people with experience playing there.

Also a quick google search of the platform will reveal so much. That is another useful thing a player can do before betting on a casino.

Actually it is nice to not trust a casino that is not license so I believe that we have different casinos and so many of them operate without license but they still have a traffic but what I noticed in them is that so many of them always be a scam casino and they always with held payment or cashing out of their client so I believe that in gambling anyone that have license should be categorized as a good gambling website that will not make away with your money but the one that does not have a license will it give you many rules and they will also not inform you about their rules after you have win a big amount of money they will introduce a room for you in order to hold your funds

A lot of gamblers still find it convenient when no history can be traced back to them, and most of the time, they are trying to avoid KYC. This is truly dangerous, and I don't recommend doing it. As a gambler, I would rather waste my money losing against the house. At least I have a fighting chance. I would choose that path than being robbed by a gambling site or freezing your account without proper reason on why they did it.

License is important, but so is reputation. When an online casino has been running for a long time but failed to get a license because they don't have a business place to do it, I think they are alright as long as there's transparency on who is running the casino.

Of course why would I even do that? Casino without license is already a risk and those who chose to follow such part may get disappointed thereafter because of how it will be. Using a casino without license is like sleeping in in a house without window, and when you are sleeping in such house, you know what that means lolz. Anything can happen. I am not against those that decide to take the risk of gambling on a casino without lancense but they should just do it at their own risk. But although there are some old casino without lancense and yet they still in existence. It is simply upto the person in question.
