What wallet software are you using and why?

Trust Wallet has been my top choice, it's the best and most trusted that I have ever used, after being recommended to me by my friends and crypto colleague.

Trust wallet give you the full control to over your funds as it lets you manually store you seedphrase.

The wallet is even a multi coin wallet as I have even used it over the past month to send and receive different coins from P2P vendors.

Read through the thread and you may see enough reason why you need to stop using trustwallet. You also need to tell your crypto colleague to stop using and recommending trustwallet to anyone else. TrustWallet has a recent extension hack that cost holders losing their coins, if you are looking for a better wallet choice, if Electrum look extensive, bluewallet is fine and recommendable. Use a Bitcoin only wallet when you want to store Bitcoin for a long term.

Personally I have Electrum and bluewallet which are serving different purposes and then I have metamask that I use for all coins and crypto projects, I used it to mined altcoins or staking coins however it’s just one risky wallet I have, it’s open source too and have more altcoin compatibility than others, while electrum is bitcoin specific and sure we all know it’s the best wallet to use.

Safepal is my most common wallet that I use, as it is very reliable. I like how the wallet is built, and it is very easy to use wallet. If you are making transaction from the wallet, it gives you the option to chose how fast you want your transaction to execute. Although how fast you want the transaction to execute will be how much transaction fee you will pay. They have the low, medium and high transaction fees options. But the fees are very affordable.

I hold Bitcoin in Trust Wallet. Because when I started investing in Bitcoin, a friend of mine suggested this wallet to me. I will not change it. If there is no problem, I will use this wallet. What I always look for is nothing more than simplicity, a very decent UI, and doesn't give me a reason to start asking for help probably due to a software glitch or any other reason. Now, my reason for saying this is because of my previous experience with trust wallet and unstoppable wallet. Like, having to reach out to a customer service, just to sort out a tx glitch, was literally one of the most craziest and unforgettable moments of my life. Fortunately, blue wallet hasn't given me any reason to experience something similar. Due to my experience with unforgettable wallet, I started having doubts for every wallets that are multi coin related.

And also, one other thing I really don't like, is a wallet that shows ads. If I remember correctly, I think mycelium does this, and I wasn't really enjoying it because I just don't like seeing ads on certain things.

I think your are correct about this one should aleast not have just one wallet which he or she get their coins..maybe at least two wallet are okey if possible but to me I feel having two wallet should on a more safer side in term’s of hackers…just as you have made mention it best we all should follow such fool step, well having an electrum wallet is never a bad idea as a newbie who is starting the journey of bitcoin I think that wallet should be more understandable and more accessible for newbie’s before they can start their journey of having their own wallets

Most of us when we came to the Cryptocurrency World, we were told to use electrum and the reason behind is that, it is simple to use as a newbie or as a beginner in the Crypto Industry. And it is secure to keep your coins and there is a degree of privacy since there is no KYC need. And some people used Bluewallet because they use iphone and electrum can't be installed in iphone for now. Those are some of the reasons why we use electrum more than other Open source wallets. And mainly for privacy and security. Close source wallets are "not your key, not your coins". Because you are not in control of your coins.

Most of us started with trust wallet dated back to when it wasn't owned by CZ, it was one of the best multi wallets 6-7 years ago before CZ bought it and ruined it. You mustn't wait until you get hacked before you increase the security level of your coins.

I understand it has easy-to use interface for newbies to operate but the security of your coins is at stake here. If you value the safety of your coins please stop using it.

I'm currently using Unstoppable and Bluewallet wallets - both open source and easy to use too for newbies.

Those are some of the reasons why we use electrum more than other Open source wallets. And mainly for privacy and security.

Electrum wallet na good open source wallet, i also use it too. But the wallet does not provide any kind of privacy feature, so that one no follow for one of its advantages. If person dey find privacy, then they have to use mixers or coinjoin. As for the absence of KYC, most non-custodial wallets do not request KYC from you, na custodial platforms dey request KYC.

That said, as for security, no forget say security relies mostly on the user and not just the wallet. So even if you dey use better open source wallet, you wey be the user must get better operational security so as not to lose your money.

Having to read every time you have said I feel am now even getting more confused about having not to use trust wallet; this has been the wallet I have been using for lathe longest moment and having to be hearing it not worth using, I just it more simple for newbie’s like me to use, this there any easy open source of wallet to use for me that is a newbie.

Their was once trust wallet was among one of the best but not anymore,  though I haven't fall victim yet but I have heard of several incidents and complains about being hacked in recent time. However am not that kind of person that always want to be a victim before learning therefore I usually love learning from others people's mistakes.

If you're looking for a better option in safe guarding your funds then try electrum, they are much more reliable in terms of maximum security and privacy, electrum is highly recommendable and they are easy navigating and understandable especially for newbies. Their is no harm in trying, check it out any you will confirm it yourself.
