Bet Accepted Then Rejected Later, Is This Fair?

So I had this bet on the Celtics, I placed it live during the first quarter. I took -14.5 at 1.99 odds. After placing, it turned green, balance was deducted, so I thought everything was confirmed. I even closed my account after that. Later on, when the Celtics were already up by 20+ points I was feeling good and telling myself this is an easy win, then suddenly I checked again and saw that my bet was marked as rejected.

Honestly, I don’t understand why, seems the line didn’t look wrong, the original line was close to that, and at the time I placed it they weren’t even leading that big yet. So seeing it rejected was really disappointing. There was no clear reason given. I haven’t contacted support yet, I just wanted to post here first and ask if anyone experienced the same thing.

It is not clear from your message whether you made a bet or you just thought you made one. When I place a bet, I always go to the "my bets" section and check if it is displayed there. When you place a live bet, the bookmaker may reject your bet because the odds have changed, usually this is confirmed by a small pop-up message. Basically, since you're unsure, it seems like you simply didn't complete the process and placed a bet. But that's just my perspective, based on your description.

This is really frustrating, especially if the bet is huge. You have a valid reason to be upset, because you thought you placed the bet successfully and then later found out it was rejected. Even if the game is not over yet, they shouldn’t just reject the bet unless it clearly violates the TOS or there was an obvious mistake in the line.

It’s unfair if the bet was already marked successful and deducted to your balance. Do you check on your bet history after you place bet or you just close your casino account once the bet was accepted?

However, I will definitely be pissed if my account got rejected later on if it’s already marked as successful because casino reject the bet immediately if the bets have an error or changes on odds.

Can you share what casino is this so that we check their ToS on this specific issue? Each sportsbook have their own customize rules on errors.

No, this is not a final confirmation, because after a second, if the bet is rejected due to changed odds, then your balance returns to its original state and that's it. To make sure that your bet has been placed, you need to see it in the My Bets section. After that there would be no doubt. I know that bookmakers protect themselves from those sitting at the stadium and trying to get ahead of the bookmaker in obtaining information by introducing a "delay" in entering bets. Perhaps the OP was unlucky and this protection worked against him.

This is the best thing to do but in case like this Casino usually stand with their initial decision on refunding the funds and will just send a part of the ToS which the6 are allowed to enforce rules etc.

In some if you want to place the bet and that moment any of the club is moving towards scoring there opponents the platform will lock you from placing it because they knew you could win if there was a goal at the moment. Although if there would be a notification or email if a bet is rejected it would be very helpful so that the gambler could go back to the site and restake the bet again but when there is no notification someone will just be watching and happy they have won without knowing the gambling site didn't stake the bet for them, is the platform that is at fault because they can't accept a bet and reject without information.

I also never thought of this before since I never experience it so it's hard for me to see that such happened on my bet, however, we can't deny that things like these are happening since we know that we may not be affected but others that have the similar experience know what they faced the tine it happened, so I've played some bets whereby I got rejected immediately before submitting for approval, it all depends on the platform and how they quickly respond to any bet before the confirmation that the bet was accepted.

This is normal. I have also experienced it before many times. If the match is not resumed, they match will be cancelled and the bet will also be cancelled because of the cancelled match.

I’ve never experienced a situation where my bet was rejected after the casino had already accepted it. I haven’t encountered that, so it’s hard for me to say what might cause it. Don't hesitate to ask their support because there's also a possibility that they have an error on their side and they will probably not void that bet. Keep your receipts so that you have proofs if you ever need it for verification purposes. I got it before and was really disappointing but it was from a parlay and they reduced my winnings instead of giving the full rewards. What sportsbook we're talking about?

The sportsbook may have a good reason for taking such actions if it is in their TOS you agreed to upon joining the platform.
However, they owe you a notification message, iterating you as to why they did such and since you didn't get any, I think you can contact their customer service with a valid transaction screenshot, asking them why they did such a thing after you had already won. They owe you an explanation that much.

This is correct and I believe support will point out what’s the terms related to his issue once he contacted the support. I doubt casino will initiate the first approach in relation to refunded bet since they are just following their protocol on this scenario.

In player POV, In my opinion this refund is unfair considering that it  was already successfully placed while the refund has delayed before they initiated which means the game already progressed.

This happened to me before. It's because the game is being played, and the line keeps on changing. The same as your experience, my money was deducted, and I thought it came in. I got up away from my computer where the bet was made and then watched the game on the television. I thought I won my bet and was surprised that the input didn't really enter. Shocked and frustrated, but when I saw my ticket, it didn't really go in, because if it did, it would have a status of void, but it doesn't.

The only reason it didn't go through is that the spread suddenly changed, and we all know that even the possession of the other team can change it quickly. Even if none have scored a point yet.

Did you experience this with a well known casino ? or you had a local bet on your local online betting agency ? because I personally never experienced such a thing and I would have been mad and sad for not having my ticket still in open mode and being rejected. However , I'm sure those casinos are doing this on a regular shift and as long as their policies cover this , there is nothing we can do.
