F1 Madness

Hi guys im please to announce to everyone the "MADNESS UNIVERSE IS EXPANDING" this time we are gonna reach the F1 Galaxy.

We are gonna use forms to submit like in the other Madness of football.

1. Official Competition Rules: "F1 Madness"

I. Team Selection
Every player must select four (4) drivers before the deadline (Qualifying start). You must pick exactly one driver from each Tier:
•   Tier 1: Teams ranked 1st-2nd in Constructors' Standings.
•   Tier 2: Teams ranked 3rd-4th.
•   Tier 3: Teams ranked 5th-7th.
•   Tier 4: Teams ranked 8th-11th.


The tiers are gonna be fixed for the first 2 races,after it they are gonna be dinamic changing according to the classification.(in case a team receive a discount on points but his car is way better than the rest i reserve the right to maintain them in other tier)

II. The Scoring Formula

Total=P+((S−F)×Multiplier)

Points are calculated based on the finishing position and the "Risk Factor" (positions gained).
Total=P+((S−F)×Multiplier)
•   P: Official F1 Points (25, 18, 15...).
•   (S - F): Starting position minus Finishing position.
•   Multipliers:
o   Tiers 1 & 2: x1.0
o   Tiers 3 & 4: x1.5
Negative Progress: If a driver loses positions, points are deducted using the same multiplier.

III. Race Incidents: DNF, DNS & DSQ

"To ensure a fair competition, points are only awarded based on official race classification.

    DNF (Did Not Finish): If your driver does not complete the race, they score 0 points.

    DNS (Did Not Start): If your driver fails to start the formation lap, they score 0 points.

    DSQ (Disqualified): If a driver is disqualified from the race results (e.g., technical infringement), their score will be reset to 0 points, regardless of their finishing position.

Note: We are gonna have open the window for changes in penalties from FIA until the next grand prix stars.Any other penaltie aplied after it is not gonna be retroactive.

1. Grid Position & Penalties "We will use the Official Starting Grid provided by the FIA right before the race starts. This means if a driver qualified 5th but has a 10-place grid penalty for a gearbox change and starts 15th, 15th will be considered his Starting Position (S) for our scoring system. This allows for more 'Risk Factor' points if they climb back up!"
2. DNFs (Did Not Finish) "If a driver officially retires from the race (DNF), they will score 0 points for that round, regardless of their position at the time of retirement or any places gained before the DNF. In our game, to score points, your driver must see the checkered flag!"

How to Win
"The goal is simple: accumulate the highest number of points throughout the season.
•   Grand Prix Winner: The player with the most points in a single race weekend.
•   Season Champion: The player with the highest aggregate score after the final race of the calendar.



EXTRA RULES.

IV. Driver Substitutions & DNS
"If a selected driver is unable to participate in the race for any reason (medical issues, mechanical failure before the start, etc.) and is officially replaced by a reserve driver, your pick will automatically transfer to that replacement.
However, if a driver is fit to race but fails to start (DNS) or starts from the pit lane, no manual changes are allowed after the deadline. Your pick remains active, and the DNF/Race rules will apply based on their final classification."

V.TIEBREAKS

Races: In the event of a tie the player with most points collected from the tier 4 is gonna be the winner.If the tie persist the player who submit first is gonna be the winner.
Season: In the event of a tie at the end of the season, the player with the most 'Grand Prix Wins' will take the title. If the tie persists, the prize will be split.


VI. Some rules can be added before we start the season.

ENTRY FEE: 1mbtc

Time to pay until: 1st April

PRIZE POT:
$2000 + ENTRY FEES to be distributed at the end of the season.
$50 cash for each round winner.

• Would this be manually done every time? If there's a wrong calculation, would there be a chance to appeal?
• Losing positions would have deductions, so there's a chance to have a negative after a GP? Then your total score would be deducted?
• Since this is a new format, maybe we can consider bonus points with sprint races?

1- YES is gonna be manually done, like in the other contest i hold (football one), and yes we are gonna took the oficial results but as i do in the other contest you can point me out if i made some mistake, i always ask to double check. (until now i never do a mistake with the score after nearby 2 seasons but it can happen)

2- Yes again is one of the idea you can score negative and is gonna be deducted from your global points.

3- I thinked about it but until now i discarted that option since it can add some extra work for me and until now sprint races are being boring and predictable.

Any new doubt let me know.

I’m not really into F1 like I’ve never placed any bet on this sport. The only F1 driver I know is Lewis Hamilton. lol

How long is a regular season? I googled it and it showed to be 9 months, will that be the length of this season? The other rules will need getting used to which will only happen with time playing the games.

The season goes from march to december, we have 24 raceweeks/rounds this year.

No, they are not fixed they are gonna be dinamic changing from race to race or after 2/3 races, i will add that later to the rules (i forget to write it).

Fastest lap is not more giving a point in F1.So no is not gonna count.

Is gonna be the last one, if more than one starts from the pits doesnt matter because they start one below the other so i can check it and put it 19 and 20 respectively.

That sounds great, and now I am seriously considering joining F1 madness competition.
Only thing I dont like is slightly higher entry fee of 1mbtc, but that can be almost recovered with winning at least one round.
I see that first race of this season is starting on March 8 so I will make my final decision before that.

I appreciate the tagging. The idea is nice and interesting even though I don't know much about this sport. It's a sport I'd like to know more about and also this competition looks interesting to participate in although the entry fee seem to be a bit high for me at the moment. The prize pool is not bad and the idea of  winning $50 in BTC weekly is great seems like an upgrade to winning free bets.

I think I will take my time to decide if I will be taking part in this, it looks tempting though. Will make a decision soon;)

@buwaytress I remember you were looking for more victims in the NFL competition I believe? I am still not sure about that one for next season, but in Formula 1 I may have a slightly better idea of what is going on (like in the Bundesliga pool as you can see!). So I am considering to participate in this one.

@darxiaomi how much time does it take to answer those forms? Is it just driver placements for any race and fastest round or so? Or is it like BSFL and ends up in another weekly scientific research task (DOTA, snooker, Olympics, waterpolo, etc.)? I am cool with BSFL, but not sure if I would like to have another one that requires tons of time if you want to do it more or less right.

I wonder why you didn't tag me? I made some negative comments about Formula 1 a couple of years ago, but I doubt you remember, plus the reason for my negativity is no longer relevant (the dominance of Verstappen and Renault).
I will definitely participate, so please, if I don't send fee in the first half of March, tag me again (if there are such reminders at all, of course, I'm not asking for separate tags).
The rules look complicated for now, but I think they're no more complicated than in the Champions League pool. I'll try to figure it out later.
