Since this is my first participant for F1 pool, I thought t would be quite difficult to choose the answer, but it turns out no, even though the results are very random.

Have to confess I only read OP properly today, and I have to say that on paper, this is the best system to reward analysis and performance, over finishing. I have no idea who the best car is, but that will certainly have a say on the finishing bonus regardless of the driver -- unless it's Yuki but we don't have to talk about him this season (sad).

Drivers can now be penalised with a disqualification or be suspended from the next race in cases of extreme collisions

Also, light contact is now not enough to warrant a penalty as per updated FIA Guidelines.

No, no, no more tags. After all, I've already made my picks and I wouldn't mind taking a handicap if someone doesn't want to participate in the first round 
For me, the qualification starts at 8 am, so there was no point in delaying the decision. When I wake up, I'll be able to see how everything went.

You must pick exactly one driver from each Tier:
•   Tier 1: Teams ranked 1st-2nd in Constructors' Standings.
•   Tier 2: Teams ranked 3rd-4th.
•   Tier 3: Teams ranked 5th-7th.
•   Tier 4: Teams ranked 8th-11th.

So when I pick these drivers, @darxiamo put them into tiers for us already. When there was not a single race, what constructor's standings are we talking about?

Lets put an example.

You pick Norris. Norris qualify 5º and starts the races in that position so S for Norris is 5.
Norris ends the race in 3º position so he gets, the 15 officials points from postion (P), and (Start positions (S)-Finish positions (F)) in this case is (5-3)= 2 x Multiplier (in this case is 1.0 since they are the better teams and it was a no sense to give them a multiplier ). So norris scores for you 15+2=17.


And the points for the round for you is the sum of your 4 drivers.

Here he says "in this case is 1.0 since they are the better teams and it was a no sense to give them a multiplier", but how does anyone know whether Norris belongs into a higher category for the constructor's standings yet? Is that based on last season? What if McLaren sucks this season and they are not one of the better teams? I don't understand where those constructor's standings come from when I am supposed to base my decisions on them, but no race has been driven yet.

I assume the tiers could change as we go along the season as we see the teams this year. Think he just went with these since it’s first race of season so makes sense just to go with last year’s standings. For example it’s clear to see already Mercedes is a tier 1 team this year so maybe next week we could see that.The calculations u did was correct it’s sum of the points of all 4 drivers which u did correctly.

As expected, Mercedes is the fastest. Hadjar in top 3 was quite a surprise for me - he didn't look fast in any of the pre-season tests.

For me is complete the opposite, for us the people who pick Verstappen we have a huge chance of scoring a lot of points, if he comes from behind and ends in top positions.

I use the last season constructors position to build the tiers, and the tiers are gonna be fixed for the first two races until we have a good ammount of data on how the teams are behaving in this season and they are gonna change from race to race after it to maintain the balance(based on the constructors leaderboard).

And yes for the first two races we are "blind" some top teams from past season can flop, or not.

These drivers absolutely hate these new cars. Remarkable stuff. Max said he's having no fun. Lando said F1 has gone from best cars ever to worst.

Actually good news for people who picked Max if I get this correctly because he can easily climb from 20 to maybe top 6. Big jump of bonus points right?

no , he will not start from the last postion ..he posted a out lap ..two driver that behind him Sainz & Stroll didn't even completed a out lap..he will start from P20 unless someone gets a grid penalty...i think you got confused looking at the official result i posted ..F1 did't post Q1 lap results in the pic & Bortoleto didn't post a lap in Q3. here let me make it easy  



and yes big swing of points for those who picked Max if Max does his thing tomorrow.
