Congratulations to LTU_btc with 69.5 points😁 And i got 63 points, thats not bad.. darxiaomi can you explain how many points each driver got?

I was waiting for this first race to confirm whether I understood the system correctly, and it seems I did.

The first part is simple: you look at column B and add up the points of your drivers. In my case it was Piastri (0), Leclerc (16), and Sainz (9). I also added Hulk (0), for a total of 25 points.

I assume everyone understands that part.

Now about the other points: S (Qualifying position).
In my case, for example, Sainz Started 21 (so S = 21) and then Finished 15th, so F = 15.

The formula is:

Total = P + ((S − F) × Multiplier)

P stands for Points. Since Sainz didn’t finish in the Top 10, P = 0.

Then comes the multiplier. His multiplier is 1.5, and that’s because:

Multipliers

Tiers 1 & 2: ×1.0

Tiers 3 & 4: ×1.5

So the calculation becomes:

0 + ((21 − 15) × 1.5) = 9

For the rest of my drivers, except Leclerc, the result is zero.

I’m explaining all this just to understand why the hell I ended up with 25 points. If the OP confirms, then that’s how it works.

By the way, if I had 63 points, I probably wouldn’t even be asking.

Yeah, I'd say I get it now as well. Lawson destroyed my otherwise great score in what was a set of totally random picks

China next, another race which comes late in the night for me. Didn't watch Australia but a few friends that did weren't really that mad as the drivers are.

I really miss Superbru and I'm not saying this because of my result but my long-run data would have netted me a good amount of points on Superbru.
Time to adapt.....which is something I always struggle with!

Ya sorry I got really confused but I generally don't understand F1 much anyway, however now I look properly I understand that actually, from what I read usually if you don't qualify you start even from the pit but the rules showed that all these guys did well enough in the Practice session to start in P20

Anyway I'm trying to understand more, but thank you so much

Oh and I was right about Max climbing from 20 to 6, wish I actually bet money on it lol. Too bad many people went for him.

Trust me, @darxiaomi lured us into a big fat lottery! The best you can hope for is that one of your Tier 3 or Tier 4 picks crashes into the wall during qualifying and then races fro P20 to P1

But yes I agree with @slaman29, things should be clear from now on. But actually there is some truth to this that it's best to have someone fall behind in the Q and then deliver in the race. Not likely though, I get it. But there is some luck factor involved.

Well guys provisional* winner is LTU_btc congratulations to him. You were super lucky with Sainz, thanks to a lot of DNF he climb some positions that give him a good amount of points.



Sorry for the long wait but in my part of the world the race end at 3.00 AM and i wake up very late and has so comprises after.

Everyone can check the points for each driver on the race_control sheet.

Please let me know if i made some mistake or something is not working properly.

*Im gonna wait a little more to see if FIA doesnt apply any sanction or if i made some mistake on the counting.

To my surprise, we had a wide range of results (I liked my result too). When I saw we only had four picks, I initially thought it would be something like 10 participants choosing Bayern and Barcelona... well, you get the idea 
As I understand it, the balance of power between teams can't change dramatically during the season, and if someone is dominant, they'll continue to do so. I hope Mercedes doesn't ruin the entire season with doubles.

I’m still not fully familiar with the points system, but I’m placing my trust in it for now. However, I can’t have scored many points since Oscar Piastri didn’t even make it to the race start. That’s pretty embarrassing, and because I picked Piastri in the first tier, there won’t be many points coming from that selection.

VI. VAR: YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR PICKS BEFORE THE START OF THE QUALY, JUST SUBMIT AGAIN AND POST "VAR" OR ANNOUNCE ON THE THREAD OR SEND ME A PM SAYING IT.

We have a very strange race, so dont take it too serious is part of the madness, i mean we lose two drivers before the start..... we cant manage that, plus Aston Martin being thi bad was completly unpredictable that give some bad teams the possibiltie to made gains on the grid that are not real.

We have to wait a few races to see how all develop.

There is a sprint race this weekend so could be interesting if we implemented the sprint race as part of our scoring for this week as well not sure if it would be too much work for you or not. You could set the sprint race deadline to submit before the sprint race qualifying(can make the submissions for each specific by adding the times for both). ofc would require much more work but would be a fun addition for the weekends that include sprint races.

I've never watched Formula E and don't understand why you're saying this tournament now resembles F1. Oliver Bearman also criticized the new Formula 1 regulations today. I found an article where he said: "That’s not racing – that’s Formula E". To be honest, I don't see how F1 could be similar to Formula E now. Is it the number of overtakes or the battery management? If it’s not too much trouble, could you please clarify this?

Formula E is about extreme saving of battery. I haven't watched it for few years, but I remember that it was quite frequent thing that drivers didn't reached finish just because they run out of battery. Now in F1 drivers have to release throttle on straights earlier than they used to do or they take some corners 50km/h slower than it used to do. These things reflects on lap times when you compare 2025 and 2026 lap times. I guess it's not that fun to race when you have to think not just about racing.
For me who grow up watching F1 in V12 eara, it's difficult to accept these things.

Hi heybosh, short answer is no.

Long answer is no because all i saw about sprint race in the past years were really bad no team risk any there and was a procession with cars doing laps one behind the others.

One for you aside of the competition, when you quote a message you can cut parts of it, so you dont @ a lot of other people (most of us use the telegram notification bot and get pinned everytime we are @). Plus is makes much smaller the post and much easy to read. I'm just giving a recommendation dont take it too serious.

Yes is something complete the opposite of superbru.

Here every driver counts. i expect to see crazy races or dristribution of points if Mercedes doesnt have the clear dominance, since in this race we have Russel going from 1 to 1, Antonelli from 2 to 2, but that can change in other races. We lose cars 3 and 5 of the grid before the race started......

Congratulations to  LTU_btc for winning the first round.
Damn it, I made last moment changes for Tier 2 from Russel to Antonelli, and I think that reduced my points this time 
I was little confused before making predictions and I think things are going to better in next rounds,  but 56 points is still better than Mafia result.

Yes F1 MADNESS is the total opposite of Superbru.
Long-run data is of course not always accurate but it's a good indicator.
Top 6 teams before qualifying were Mercedes - Ferrari - McLaren - Red Bull - Audi - Racing Bulls.
I would have predicted the Top 4 correctly...for Madness I should just do the opposite or go with my gut

Or just pick the guys who have the best mid position finish with fast acceleration, however to decide on this I have no idea tho lol

My take is, this season is gonna be pure madness, well done on @dar for making it fun again, at least now its so random who's gonna crash and who's not!!

I really hope not to see Aston Martin being this bad again and i dont want to see again idiots drivers losing control over the car in the pre start lap.

If that doesnt happen and the winner of the race is not the man on pole we can have a much wider variety of results, one thing you have to take into consideration is sometimes a DSQ can be a bless on Madness just imagine a driver who start very up and ends the race in the last places instead of retire the car..... it can destroy some players, that is madness.


One good thing i notice is despite being 27 players we dont have similar outputs at all, only 2 players have the same ammount of points which for me is a real good thing.


To everyone remember you can always find the next round available in the second post below the OP.


To the newbies, dont try to fool us playing a few rounds and withdrawing. I prepare countermeasures.

I have already seen the explanation and an example, but I need to take a closer look at it. I still have the Superbru calculations in my head, and those were quite easy to understand, but I’m confident that I’ll grasp this soon.

About the points system is pretty easy when you get it.

Only thing i have to say is look at it before the next race start since after it i re-use the race control sheet to calculate the next race.


What are the news for this Chinese GP? Can Aston Martin fix something to at least take part of the race (for real).
