Germany had a very wonderful performance overall...Not like I even expected anything less than they performed today, since the match happened right there in their own home ground...So of course they had the home advantage and all... But my concern here is that I really hope they can keep on with this performance they showed today coz if I am honest, I don't really have that confidence initially had with the german machine...During the time of Muller, Kroos, Gotze, Ozil and the like, at least I had more confidence in that their previous squad that the ones now...Klopp needs more experienced attackers, then defender and possibly mid-fielders...it wouldn't be all their nice if the same elimination experience they had in WC repeat itself in this Nation league...

These names you mentioned made me remember the good old days . Brr Germany used to be unstoppable back then, and watching them play then used to gave me so much confidence. Only God knows what this current squad are playing, they have a lot of catching up to do.

I already lost confidence in them  since World Cup performance. They started well but got kicked out too early. I hope the same thing doesn’t repeat itself in this nations league.
They shouldn’t relax because they won Serbia 2:0 today.  Until they face tougher teams and come out on top, that is when I can have confidence in them again. Let’s see what they willl play next match against Greece.

Germany will play against Serbia in today's Nations League matches. Having lost to Greece despite playing at home, Germany is likely to defeat Serbia this time around. Meanwhile, Greece the surprise team of the group, will host the Netherlands. I am very curious to see if Greece can win again, as the Netherlands is a strong team with a high probability of defeating them. If Greece manages to beat the Netherlands with the support of their home fans, the group standings could look very different.
Another possible draw between Germany and Serbia. Serbia lost their first two games in a narrow defeat of 2 goals to 1. They will want to do their best to prevent Germany from taking all three points from this game. Germany are not really ready for this Nations League and might struggle to earn points from all indications. Greece against Netherlands should be strongly competitive. I am predicting Greece to take all three points and wrap the first leg with 9 points margin. For me the group standing might remain the same after this two fixtures.
Germany has just secured their first win under the leadership of their new head coach Klopp after they were able to beat Serbia with 2 goals over nine. With this, I think they now have a renewed hope of securing their first win UEFA Nations League quarter finals as they currently boast for a solid 4 points as against Netherlands with 5 points and Greece leading the group with 7 points. Are there chances of Germany winning against Greece in their next encounter? Yes because Klopp seems to know how to manage the squad more to improve their performance and convert such performances to goals.

Germany with this win gets hope to going into quarters and i think they will secure it. Still Klopp is figuring things out with this team but i think when the next break comes they will be even better and maybe win all of their games.

Didnt expect Greece after leading in the match to drop the win if they won against Netherlands they would have surely secure the quarters

We had quite a few draws today. Out of 8 games played, 5 ended in a draw (62.5%). That must've messed up a lot of betting coupons.
I thought Denmark was a safe bet, but I was very wrong. I guess I underestimated the Welsh. They grabbed a 2-1 win, but a red card to Norway's Heggem was a massive help. I doubt they would have won if not for that.
5 draws out of 8 matches is not few matches, I was surprised by the match of Greece versus Netherlands because I didn't know that Netherlands will equalize the 2 goals behind. Another match is Ireland versus Austria. How did Austria equalised the 2 goals they first conceded against Ireland.

When Norway received the red card i knew they won't escape a defeat because Wales is a strong team too and for the fact they equalised the score shows their fighting capacity and even if Norway didn't get a red card, Wales would have still won or the match ended draw.

Portugal with a big 4-2 win over Denmark. This doesn't look great for Cristiano Ronaldo. It seems like Portugal's attack has improved post his departure. But it's hard to judge after only 2 games.
A good match it was, Portugal played so confidently even when Denmark equalised the score but the Portuguese players made sure they win the match and of course, they actually won it with a huge margin unlike some matches that they used to struggle with scoring.

Germany done good in this game but still they needed time with Jurgen Klopp because he can bring good improvement with his experience and skills but defeat at home against Greece surely going to be have big impact on their chances for quarterfinals.
The Netherlands are having easy passage to jump to the top, but Greece vs. Germany is going to be tense for both sides because Germans will try to have their best and jump to the second spot, while Greece will be in good confidence after winning in Germany and having a draw against the Netherlands at home.
Wales performed impressively and handed defeat to Norway. It's going to be interesting because now Norway is visiting Portugal and Wales is going to host Denmark. All are alive for having the second spot; anybody can give his best and stay in the second spot.

Cristiano Ronaldo should accept the reality of life; he is not a young player anymore, he is almost 41 years of age, he don’t expect his performance to be at the highest level and expected to start all matches when if he is in the field he can be considered as a minus player because his impact is not much in the team anymore, he should have just did as Messi did since he even tried in the World Cup and he couldn’t win anything, he should avoid all these dramas if he retires from football since he has won almost everything, and no matter what, he will remain there because the memories they bring are mean to be remembered.

Now the team has won a match without him, they should just focus on building their team and stop relying on individual performance, so that when one is not there, the team can survive.
Ronaldo doesn't like when he benched or substituted in a match. The Portugal Vs Wales match wasn't the first time Ronaldo has displayed such attitude,he did the same when he was substituted by Portugal former coach Fernando Santos.
Ronaldo needs to realise something that the coach has the power to substitute him without giving any reason in any match, besides that, Ronaldo is old and doesn't have that energy he used to have when he was a young player. I was surprised that he came back to play for Portugal after he had said he won't play international games again.  Ronaldo needs to control his temper when he is being substituted and respect whatever decisions made by his coach concerning the team.

Wales 2 - 1 Norway

I’m trying to understand what happened to Norway after the World Cup matches; in this competition, they don't look like the same team that played well during the qualifiers and the World Cup itself. Today they lost to Wales. You might argue that the red card shown to a Norwegian player in the 46th minute influenced the result and yes, that may have put them at a disadvantage but Norway scored the opening goal in the 11th minute. They just needed to stay solid in defense, because Wales isn't a strong team or at least, they weren't supposed to be. Unfortunately, Norway lost again. That makes it two consecutive defeats.

Greece 2 - 2 Netherlands

Greece has significantly improved its performance in this competition; they are doing well, remain undefeated, and sit at the top of the group standings even though the group includes Germany and the Netherlands. This is an incredible feat for Greece. We shall see if they can sustain this strong performance for the long haul; the Netherlands isn't doing too badly either so far, I consider their performance acceptable.

The UNL is actually going to Spain as the signs are written all over in the competition, Spain is a mayhem to all the teams they play against and no team has come close to deny them all 3 points, Spain keeps knocking them down. The game against England was a classic with how they managed to get a response barely after the first half of England leading the game. For the game against Croatia it was a delightful finishing for Spain, 4 goals scored in a game I was hoping Croatia could be difficult to beat, but no. Something I relish about the Spanish team is how they play in oneness and unity getting those results in a superb way.

I'm not surprised with the performance of Greece because for them to win Germany speaks volume of how formidable they have become but in today's match against the Netherlands, I fault Greece for allowing Netherlands to equalize the 2 goals they scored earlier. They should have just defended better and take home all 3 points. A draw is not a bad result though, they played against a team that are stronger than them so they have the accolade.

The Netherlands are becoming too loosed, they are not as fierce as they use to be anymore. What has changed in the team? I was expecting a win from them but it happened that they were the ones who was begging Greece for a draw.

What sort of fuckery is this that you put into writing?, why are you making it seem like Cristiano was begging to get playing minutes?
The way some of you suddenly become illogical and can’t use common sense especially when it comes to matters that concern Cristiano Ronaldo, it really baffles me; you’ll see blue and call it red just because CR7 is involved, it’s crazy for real.

Nobody is talking about how Jorge Jesus’s decisions crossed into unnecessary disrespect even after CR7 had agreed to the workload plan that Jorge had discussed with him previously about him not starting in the first two Nations league games( Norway and Denmark).

He asked Ronaldo to warm up for close to like 30-45 minutes but ended up not using him after already creating the illusion that he was going to 🤦‍♂️; ok he apologized and said he was gonna make it right but later still went on a public press briefing and doubled down on his actions like what he did to a player of Ronaldo’s caliber is okay and you people are here clapping hands for him💔

People will disrespect and then complain when you react, that’s what selfish fucks and hypocrites do and that’s what all of you Ronaldo haters are, i got much to say but there’s no point trying to make illogical people see reason, it’s futile.

The victory over Germany was certainly not down to luck or a fluke. Today, Greece was leading the Netherlands 2–0 in the first half the Netherlands managed to stage a comeback, otherwise Greece would have secured another win. Thanks to the partnership between Masouras and Ioannidis, they managed to score two goals in the first half.

The Netherlands fought hard for an equalizer and ultimately had to settle for a draw.

Ronaldo doesn't like when he benched or substituted in a match. The Portugal Vs Wales match wasn't the first time Ronaldo has displayed this nonchalant attitude,he did the same when he was substituted by Portugal former coach Fernando Santos.
I don't understand why you guys are always quick to criticize Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo doesn't have any nonchalant attitude, I think you people are sometimes too quick to judge his reactions without considering the emotions and competitiveness involved in the game.

Just in case you have forgotten who Christian Ronaldo is,  let me quickly remind you.  Ronaldo is a passionate player who wants to contribute whenever he is on the pitch, so it is understandable that he may feel disappointed whenever he is substituted.

Being frustrated or reacting some how whenever he is being substituted doesn't mean that he doesn't respect his coach.  You people need to put yourselves in his shoe to understand why he feels frustrated whenever he is substituted.

Well, Spain was also the best performing team in the competition last season and were tipped by bookmakers to win it but surprisingly, Portugal won the 2026 UEFA Nations League trophy.

There's every possibility that we might as well see a repetition of that maybe not from Portugal but from another top team in the competition that aren't playing convincing football like Spain.

Don't get me wrong, I also think Spain are the favorites however, I wouldn't conclude now when we've not reached the semi finals of the competition.

Spain won the world cup and are the best team in the world currently, do you watch how they do play? They're dominating Europe with everything they have and have put everything into consideration of winning games consistently. Luis de la Fuentes should be given his accolades because he's very impressed and experienced, he knows when to substitute and win games.

Spain and Portugal have always been favorite to win the Nations League, you might be shocked we didn't mention France, because they're more like not competitive and consistent. I think France only turns up when it comes to the world cup, that's where they do show their strength.

I hope they don't continue with Montella after a possible loss in the Belgium match tomorrow. It's a hassle to let him go because his compensation is so high, but things just keep getting worse as long as he stays in charge of the team. He has no intention of resigning on his own. He won't leave without getting his big compensation money. He doesn't even care about the poor results.

At this rate Türkiye will unfortunately be relegated to B League again. It was already tough to pick up points in this group. But if a better manager were in charge, he'd put a target on Italy and Belgium games and have the team play accordingly. However Montella still thinks he can win something by playing outdated tactics.

I had Norway on my side in this match, but they couldn't hold on to the game in any way. In the current position, Norway has performed well, they scored a goal at the beginning but then a defender got a red card and went off the field. The player who got the red card was Heggem, he was a great defender and his role in the team is clear to see.
Where I bet a small amount of money on the Norwegian team, I lost, only luck prevented Norway from winning and Wales team was able to win, only luck helped them win the most.

This is not true about Ronaldo. Ronaldo allows himself to be substituted. At Al Nassr, he gets substituted by his coach, and he doesn't complain. What Ronaldo doesn't like much about this Portuguese coach is the audacity of not informing Ronaldo whether he was going to get a minute in the previous games against Norway and that of Denmark.

Ronaldo is 41. He is not the only footballer at that age to be playing professional football. Lucas Modric is 40, Ronaldo is 41, Thiago Silva is 41, Lionel Messi is 39, and Manuel Neuer is 40. They are all still playing football for their club and for their country. Ronaldo is more physically strong than these players i mentioned. Age is just a number. He is old, not on crutches.

I'm really surprised by what Greece is doing here in the Nations League. They almost beat the Netherlands and if Reijnders hadn't scored, the Netherlands would have lost. Greece also remains unbeaten in their group and is currently leading the table.
Greece is a dark horse team who are in Group B, great performance, I myself didn't get to watch their game because I was too focused on other games, damn if you know so I wanted to see the Greece vs Netherlands game last night. Sad

I'm not really familiar with how the Nations League groupstage works. How many games do they have left? Is Germany already eliminated since they're currently 3rd in the group? How many matches are left before we know who advances?
3x for the remaining matches, so each team will play 6x home/away matches, for Germany and the Netherlands still have a chance to qualify for the next round, at least that's what we understand. Cheesy

I think Portugal is coming back to life again after Ronaldo walked out of the team. We can clearly see that Ronaldo is the cause of the problems that the team has been facing because he acts authoritative and doesn't allow others opinion to count in the team. He always want everything to work according to how he wants but he forgets that a player cannot be bigger than the club. Look how happy and devoted that Portugal players are. Imagine how they scored quickly immediately Denmark equalised he score, that's to show you how much energy the team is feeling now.
I wouldn't agree with you that Ronaldo caused any problem in Portugal because he has sacrificed a lot for the team. His only problem is that, he forgets that he's no longer young and cannot perform as expected because football is mainly for the young and not for a man of his age. He has realized it, which is the reason why he walked away from the team. I believe, he wouldn't be mad at the players.
You are right a player who has brought some much glory to his country can't just suddenly be the problem the team is having, i already knew that some persons will say he is the problem Portugal was having before because they won Denmark 4-2.

I think cristiano Ronaldo has come back to his rightfully senses he was supposed to announce his retirement immediately after the world cup he is already of age and there is no magic that can be done about it for him to still perform like when he was young, so i believe he made the right decision by walking away to avoid further embarrassment from his coach and also give the young talented players a playing opportunity.

If we had won the match against Italy, I would have been hopeful for today's game, but the players aren't in a good psychological state.
I watched Belgium in the match against France; they pushed forward late in the game trying to get the win, but they couldn't find a goal.
Our match will likely be more entertaining, as we have a high potential for both conceding and scoring goals.
I hope we come out on top at the end of the match. If we lose today, I don't know if Montella will leave the team, but we will definitely be relegated to League B.
