I would always support the idea that it's a matter of wisdom with or without luck. Some people get their wealth by pure luck like inheritence or winning a huge amount in gambling, however they still need wisdom and enough maturity to keep a safe wealth. I can't tell how many people lost their winnings got by luck because they think the big amount won't vanish. And how many others built their wealth depending their skills.

You're right about that, real wealth come through wisdom even though some wealth is been inherited that's (luck) reason been that they didn't work for it, it is more like when you wake up in bed in the morning and just discover that breakfast has been served, if you are ask to explain the process it takes to make that breakfast you can't be able to explain that. So that's how inheritance is, of which wisdom is also required to enable you manage the assets very well because without having a wisdom you might just loss it all hoping that you will surely get it back just as you said about those gamblers who are lucky to win big and later Loss it back to gamble and that's simply because they lack wisdom, so wealth without wisdom is completely nothing.

If he didn't work to get that wealth, this doesn't mean you can not to work also but waiting the wealth to be saved by God fate. Anybody who doesn't bear in mind the importance of skills and effort spent will end up losing everything whatever the wealth is big.
I remember an american waiter who won the ticket Lottery given as a tip from a client of. After winning millions of dollars, she started spending money for a luxury life and ignore cases filed against her for taxation and other stuff. She ended up losing all the money and a long punition in jail.

There are those real wealthy people that are born with golden spoon, and acquire significant amount of inheritance that even cost hundreds of millions. And there are also people who get rich after winning jackpot prize from lottery.

However, everything may vanish quickly if there is no proper wisdom. With just a single mistake and wrong decision making, their fate will change.

There is no reward without effort. For many who have achieved wealth, luck took at least ten years of hard work to happen "overnight," "suddenly." People only want the result, but they can't bear to go through the process, the journey that led them to success, the ups and downs on the road to wealth.

Ignoring luck as a part of money making would only get you to go mad. Because you can be a hard worker, wise, and skilled person and yet you may not end up getting rich, obviously you should be doing fine but there are many people out there who just had it unlucky and not have the advantages of others.

A biggest example would be some kid who grew up with a software engineer mom and dad in silicon valley could be a hard worker and learn coding and have many doors open, and yet some kid in Africa may not have the same chances because they lack even computer at schools let alone at home. It is not the same, and luck plays a big role in everyone's life, no matter how rich do you think that person is, sure it is not "only" luck, but you have to be a bit lucky.

Yes, luck is great and I would say that many rich people got lucky one way or another. Of course you need hard work, and probably some money from parents, all of the rich people we can see right now at the top of the ladder are people who had rich parents so we need that too, but luck always plays a huge role.

There is really no situation where we can consider this as easy because every hard working person doesn't come out to be a rich person, so that part is about being lucky and nothing more. Like think of all the viral videos on the internet, you think all of that is because of hard work? Some people just get famous because things get viral for a moment and some of them just use that with hard work to make a profit off that, and some just realize it was luck and fail.

I agree with you OP, wealth, in alot of cases if not most is not accidental at all, for most its the result of structured decisions made consistently over time. Take it like this, luck can create moments of opportunity, but without preparation, discipline and sound judgment, those moments dont translate into lasting wealth. Simply declaring riches without a clear plan, skill development, capital allocation strategy or value creation path wont produce results. The quote about greatness not being achieved by “sudden flight” , well it reflects a fundamental economic truth, you know, compounding effort, strategic investments and patience are what separate temporary gains from sustainable prosperity and in my view, wisdom is the multiplier,  it guides how you work, where you invest and how you manage risk.

I could relate to your topic this way, a gambler who consistently put in sacrifices and trying everyday to one day hit a target of big sum, who knows, also a hacker who constantly trying all day and night to hack a multi million company of their business funds, that would be huge, who knows? If these two got it successful once (heavy sum), are they really wealthy? If yes, then they got through luck and not structure.

Structure in my opinion is building a system that constantly generate money, where recycling back funds will be possible to generate more money again while the process keeps on repeating.

These two people aren't doing that, but waiting for a lucky day to hit it big, that's not wealthiness in my opinion because, getting it another day isn't guaranteed and not sure, it's just becoming rich through luck, if money management is failed at this point, then such person life is going to start from scratch.

It true that most of the times people tend not to be able to manage wealth that didn't come as through hard work just like you said through luck or as that of inherited wealth that is to say one can actually get real wealth through luck which is contrary to the concept of this topic while it takes enough wisdom to sustain such wealth, every wise man will always option to maximize every opportunity they have gotten either through luck, hard work and wisdom, every wealth must be recreational for it to be sustained over time.

Riches only come to those who are prepared for it and it doesn't come out of luck or even through wishing for it. If you hopes to become rich you have to work, plan and set plans in motion. Anyone wishing to become successful in life will end up wishing for the rest of his life because riches is a product of hardwork and sweet. It's only lazy people and those I will describe as religious fanatics that will wish, pray and even prophesy about riches coming to them.


One of the laws guiding the world is that you have to work because, it's often said that work is the piller. Wishing is like leaving your destiny for others to decide which is not a good thing to do take charge of your life and destiny by working and stop wishing for success to come to you.

That's a great quote. I heard it in a game that is widely played by most young people in my neighborhood. The problem that often arises is, as you said, there are always people who want to achieve wealth or comfort in their lives, but they tend to be unwilling or unable to endure the process of achieving it. Moreover, ups and downs are likely to occur, so a strong mentality is needed in the process of becoming better.

I totally agree with you, they don't build real wealth through luck but with wisdom, knowledge, good decisions, focus and consistency, nobody built real wealth by chance, I know many of us thinks that wealth comes from luck, but for me I didn't see it that way, behind every successful man there lies a struggler who built all his riches from the scratch, anything you achieve by luck, quickly fade away, imagine winning gambling which may be by luck, but without wisdom you may loss everything,  but with wisdom you will discover that a little start  can end big.
