People call it laziness but sometimes I think it's just humans adapting to technology and using it to their advantage. If you have something that can do the work for you then there is no point in stressing yourself out. But in the aspect of thinking critically you are right about that. There is need to exercise our brain because if we don't it becomes slow, it's just like a muscle that needs to be developed constantly. I know a lot of people that don't know how to write and application letter anymore or spell words correctly cause without Ai they cannot do any of that anymore.
Most people being overweight, unskilled and spending copious amounts of time on garbage like social media and binge watching shows is definitely not a sign of laziness, it is a sign of well developed adoption of using technology to their advantage.
What actual advantage? Making yourself fat and stupid is an advantage?
Only hyper performing humans need tools that increase their efficiency and create some extra free time, which they will use again to be more active -- whether for themselves personally or for work. Everyone else DOES NOT need it, it does not help them, it HURTS THEM. Learn the fucking difference and stop justifying the foul choices that you and the people you know are making.
Technology is made for people to use it and make their lives and tasks easier.
That is literally a fairy tale and on the list of top 50 reasons it would be near the end of that list.

It's not laziness to benefit from the technology that innovates quickly.
It is the definition of laziness for most people. They are lazy and this will make them even lazier. Why learn anything at all when the AI can do it for you? That is a clear display of the opposite of laziness.

I hate to break it to you, possibly it may have passed you by but people already got lazy.
Yes, but you don't understand why.
Modern civilization just going on from the work and general living standards I remember 30+ years ago, people are much better off now.
Better standards, worse mental health, worse physical health, and worse character traits. It could be a tradeoff.
What AI actually should represent imo is efficiency.
No, I explained the difference in my post. For most people AI is not efficiency, it is going to compound their laziness as it is a new generation of technology that already is to a big extent the cause of their laziness. Most people don't even know how to talk in person anymore, most do not know any mathematics beyond the basics, most do not have any difficult skills, most are overweight. AI can only make this worse, not better. These people already have way too much free time.
