I guess that is one of the downside of new technology which is AI i know that AI has made our lives easier and more convenient just 1 prompt away you can get the answers you want and with the rising of text to images and videos we can do endless things with this. and because it is a lot easier know it also slowly makes us lazy because we dont need to think hard enough and spent more time to complete a task. we should also practice our critical thinking and problem solving skills before AI do the work.
People call it laziness but sometimes I think it's just humans adapting to technology and using it to their advantage. If you have something that can do the work for you then there is no point in stressing yourself out. But in the aspect of thinking critically you are right about that. There is need to exercise our brain because if we don't it becomes slow, it's just like a muscle that needs to be developed constantly. I know a lot of people that don't know how to write and application letter anymore or spell words correctly cause without Ai they cannot do any of that anymore.

Technology is made for people to use it and make their lives and tasks easier. It's not laziness to benefit from the technology that innovates quickly. But what we are seeing is too much of the AI effect, it's a real issue that it is replacing the jobs of many. And what we can imagine is that AI isn't even on its peak, how much more if it comes to the point that all systems are automated and it's being run by an AI and behind the control on those AIs are done by a single person. So, the job of hundreds of people is replaced by a few AI that can do all of the tasks which is being controlled by a single or few people.

I hate to break it to you, possibly it may have passed you by but people already got lazy.  Modern civilization just going on from the work and general living standards I remember 30+ years ago, people are much better off now.
You can call that lazy, advancement whatever but it was already a thing.  What AI actually should represent imo is efficiency.
Like every technology its imperfect I would not say otherwise but it should help optimize even save people from a few boring repetitive jobs, in very rare cases it might advance health care or avoid needless injuries or death by improving monitoring etc.  Its a mixed bag, not simple effect imo

Most people being overweight, unskilled and spending copious amounts of time on garbage like social media and binge watching shows is definitely not a sign of laziness, it is a sign of well developed adoption of using technology to their advantage. What actual advantage? Making yourself fat and stupid is an advantage? Roll Eyes Only hyper performing humans need tools that increase their efficiency and create some extra free time, which they will use again to be more active -- whether for themselves personally or for work. Everyone else DOES NOT need it, it does not help them, it HURTS THEM. Learn the fucking difference and stop justifying the foul choices that you and the people you know are making.

Technology is made for people to use it and make their lives and tasks easier.
That is literally a fairy tale and on the list of top 50 reasons it would be near the end of that list. Roll Eyes

It's not laziness to benefit from the technology that innovates quickly.
It is the definition of laziness for most people. They are lazy and this will make them even lazier. Why learn anything at all when the AI can do it for you? That is a clear display of the opposite of laziness.  Roll Eyes

I hate to break it to you, possibly it may have passed you by but people already got lazy.
Yes, but you don't understand why.

Modern civilization just going on from the work and general living standards I remember 30+ years ago, people are much better off now.
Better standards, worse mental health, worse physical health, and worse character traits. It could be a tradeoff.

What AI actually should represent imo is efficiency.
No, I explained the difference in my post. For most people AI is not efficiency, it is going to compound their laziness as it is a new generation of technology that already is to a big extent the cause of their laziness. Most people don't even know how to talk in person anymore, most do not know any mathematics beyond the basics, most do not have any difficult skills, most are overweight. AI can only make this worse, not better. These people already have way too much free time.

I agree with that statement because AI shouldn’t be overused as you said, it can have a negative impact on a person’s life. But there’s no denying that AI can also assist with many activities carried out by the general public. Actually, AI is intended to help many people complete their tasks it’s just that for those who think AI is making them lazy that’s their own mistake in how they use it. Besides, not all tasks can be assisted with or completed by AI.

I don't know about most people, but AI has been very helpful in my self-development. It has created an excellent personal training program for me, and I've already noticed improvements in my physical fitness. If it weren't for AI, I would have had to communicate with a trainer and pay them for their services, which I don't want to do. Moreover, I can ask AI any questions about it, and it provides clear answers based on facts. No trainer can provide such concise and informative responses. I'm not even mentioning that AI can also answer any other questions about the world.

That's why many people say AI can be both good and bad. It can make people lazy and make them more productive. Ultimately, it depends on each individual perspective on AI development as it can't be generalized.

AI can help with many things at work and with AI many people can even make money. AI can also make people lazy and reduce creativity by making AI a shortcut or always relying on AI. It's best to adapt to AI so we can become better, taking advantage of its strengths and weaknesses. Because with every new technological development, we can't avoid it all we can do is continue to learn and adapt.

Nobody is really denying that there can be boosts in productivity with AI, this is seen with the top engineers. The denial actually comes with people who believe that AI technologies do not increase the likelihood of making someone more lazy or stupid, which is completely false. That is exactly what even basic reliance on such tools does, any kind of overuse is basically a brain killer.

Actually, AI is intended to help many people complete their tasks it’s just that for those who think AI is making them lazy that’s their own mistake in how they use it. Besides, not all tasks can be assisted with or completed by AI.
Drugs are intended to help you, so if they are destroying your life then it is your own mistake?  Roll Eyes That is not how the world works my dear, it is the exact opposite of how it works. Things have objective negative and positive influences on humans, regardless of the tendencies and decisions of an individual. In the context of this, there is no way to evade the negative effects of something -- it is only possible to minimize them to some extent. Why would a sane person adopt a multitude of things that primarily harm them? That's right, most people are not sane these days that is why most of their decisions are made to their own detriment -- and they will strongly defend these wrong decisions as if their life depended on them. The same will happen with this AI bullshit, and once we have AI religions and AI murdering cults you will start writing excuses on how it is the fault of those that misuse the technology.  Cheesy

I’m thinking about the criticisms leveled at the invention of the wheel in ancient times. There were probably criticisms that it weakened the labor market, and similarly, there were probably comments that it encouraged people to be lazy... :)

We were human thousands of years ago, and we are human today. We had concerns about the future thousands of years ago, and we have concerns about the future today.

I can’t say for certain what artificial intelligence will bring us. That’s why I understand those who approach it with caution. However, I don’t think I’ll live long enough for it to have a major impact on my life, and that’s why I feel a bit lucky.

Yes, as I mentioned earlier this laziness is a negative consequence, and it arises from overreliance on AI. That’s why we need to strike a good balance even though AI can be helpful, we shouldn’t depend on it entirely.

Laziness stemming from relying on AI can happen to anyone and perhaps most commonly among young people still in college, as they tend to have many digital or online tasks that AI is highly likely to assist with. Ultimately, it all depends on how we choose to utilize it.

AI is like a tool like a calculator or a washing machine both of which take over tedious tasks so we can focus on other things.

Exactly. A calculator can't do everything where calculation is involved and a washing machine won't wash you clothes properly if you put much less washing powder than needed or set the timer on 2 minutes. Those things can help us a lot, but not without our interaction. And with AI it's the same. Unfortunately, some people think that can rely on AI completely and it will do everything for them. That's just wrong. But AI can be a good helper if used properly.
Great example to prove how both of you idiots are wrong, and it proves that AI is cancerous. What has the widespread availability of calculators accomplished? Most children are unable to even do basic math operations without the use of calculators. If we start talking about fractions and percentages they completely get lost, and this is the most basic of the math. So do not give me this shit about "tools" making things better, when it has been proven in many cases that reliance on tools leads to a diminishing of skills. Are you that stupid to believe that people would become better drivers if the cars start driving themselves?  Roll Eyes Cheesy Cheesy AI will make most people lazier and stupider, there is no doubt in the logic of this consequence -- research has already confirmed it and I have linked some of it.

Those that relied on AI have shown strong diminishing capability in mathematics and writing skills, more will follow soon.

~

No need to be so rude, @Satofan44. If you think tools are not making things better, keep digging with your hands avoiding using spades, but it's not necessary to call "idiots" people who think otherwise. IRL you might get in troubles because of that behaviour.
