If it comes to destroying Bitcoin, I would say that the one who created it can destroy it. And if I also say that if the one who created it is no longer alive on earth, then I think no one else on earth can destroy it.
Governments of different countries around the world may have a temporary negative impact on the market. Two days ago, America and Israel jointly attacked Iran, from where Bitcoin was seen bringing in $63,000, meaning that the marketing may have a temporary negative impact, but no country's government has the power to completely destroy Bitcoin.
Bitcoin can not be destroyed unless the government comes for it. Even the creator of Bitcoin can not destroy it unless he revealed himself which can make the price of Bitcoin to fall because of the fear that he might want to flood the market with the one million Bitcoin in his custody. His appearance will not make Bitcoin destroyed but it can crash the price of Bitcoin making it hard to sell. If the government also comes in, we could be surprised that the government can make things worsen for all of us that are holding Bitcoin.

Although it is a fact that governments can manipulate the price of the Bitcoin market by regulation or geopolitical means, it is not possible to entirely ruin it. Bitcoin is decentralized, which means that no one including a government can close it down. Regarding the creator, who happens to be Satoshi Nakamoto, even assuming the latter decided to come out and transfer the so-called 1 million BTC, it would temporarily disrupt the confidence of the market, but this would not eliminate Bitcoin. The network and protocol have now become significantly larger than an individual. The threats to Bitcoin may be real, but the destruction cannot take place without the collaboration of the whole world, which is almost impossible.

Wrong. If the creator could destroy or unilaterally influence the Bitcoin network. It would not be called decentralization.

If Bitcoin's existence still depends on Satoshi, any individual or organization, then Bitcoin is simply a centralized asset in disguise. If its a decentralized system. That means power is distributed, any changes must be based on consensus, and no one can arbitrarily alter the network, not even Satoshi.

No one has the power to destroy Bitcoin, not even the government or Satoshi.

Bitcoin can only be halted in its adoption / other processes, or targeted in one form or another, but as of now.. It's the stronghold of the custody you may have and control.

Destroying bitcoin is a difficult task, and even the person who created Bitcoin is not in control of bitcoin, making it a decentralized asset. If something is in your own control, it is very easy to destroy it, but you cannot actually destroy what is not under your control.
Before now, Bitcoin had many critics, many never believed in the potential of bitcoin to the extent that they even tag Bitcoin to be a scam asset, this criticism alone is enough to destroy Bitcoin potential, and enable people to dump their Bitcoin asset. I believe bitcoin is indestructible, since the bitcoin critics could not destroy it when the digital currency was still new, it is definitely very difficult to do it now that even almost the whole world has embraced the digital currency, and are seriously investing in bitcoin.
Today, Bitcoin is the most widely adopted digital currency, giving investors massive again in the long run. These reasons actually makes bitcoin difficult to be destroyed.

Bitcoin still has many critics.. It's just that it overcame the phase where their words matter that much. BTC is working - and everybody is buying it. That's overshadows any FUD.

The funniest part of the whole criticism is the fact that at the point of their criticism bitcoin is busy gaining more awareness,so clearly that’s one of the positive side of criticism in regards to bitcoin. On the contrary, even the inventor of bitcoin can’t destroy he’s own invention talk more of mere facts that aren’t true.It is of advantage to enthusiasts on how bitcoin is gaining traction globally, large companies and institutions are investing on bitcoin, even most countries are accumulating bitcoin as a form of strategic reserve incase there’s an extreme downturn in the economy.Lastly, bitcoin is too good to be destroyed.

Satoshi's disappearance was a necessary condition for the system to function. The design was to place authority in the code and the consensus of nodes, not in a founder. The founder's identity and intentions are supposed to be irrelevant.

If those coins moved, it wouldn't represent a failure of Bitcoin.
It would be a test of that core principle. The panic would come from people realizing their trust was still in a person, not in the system.
Any exchange that tried to freeze or block those funds would just be demonstrating why self-custody is the only actual solution. The question isn't who Satoshi is; its whether the system works without him.

All evidence suggests it does.
The coins moving does not prove anything at all, it is just naive people who don't even have any basic knowledge about Bitcoin that are commenting here whatever. There is no proof that:
  • Those coins ever belonged to Satoshi.
  • That Satoshi is the one who moved them.
  • That someone else is the one who moved them.
Therefore, uneducated and zealot like thinking will try to make a big deal out of an event that is meaningless. People have way too much free time these days that's why they write all sorts of nonsense about these things, I think we need to return to 60 or 80 hour work weeks.  Wink
Let us not pretend the coin moving would mean nothing. If those coins that has been believed to be owned by Satoshi moves, then that means the person’s controlling those keys is alive or someone has access to it. That alone will for sure change or put pressure on the narrative. And we can all agree that Bitcoin is kind of tied to narratives. It may not affect it for a long time, but there would be an effect in the short term.

And also some people do say if the founder suddenly appears that it would mean nothing. I don’t think that is true because, obviously from the very beginning, one of the main thing Bitcoin did was to remove power from any single human being or groups and put it into consensus. Satoshi getting out of the picture was not a coincidence, it obviously a part of it all. The system was built to function without a face and leader for a reason.

Satoshi is dead anyway. If someone comes with proof that they are Satoshi, it can be dismissed without verification.
And talking about satoshi been dead. There is no solid proof he is dead. But there is also no proof he is alive. So saying he is dead like it is a fact doesn’t make it automatically true.
Personally, I have even started questioning different theories about Bitcoin founders, but that is not the main point here.

Satoshi gave people the power to control their own money and used an algorithm to help ensure that people remains in control, making Bitcoin a decentralized asset is what people should be thankful of instead of comimg up with conspiracies to make it seem bad. We're so lucky to have such an alternative to the monetary system of government which ensure zero third party and more privacy.

If Bitcoin could be destroyed the government of major economies would've destroyed it but they lack that authority therefore they too had to embrace it. Bitcoin is just like energy, it can't be destroyed or more of it created but we can buy, hold it and transfer from one wallet to another for transactions.

If they wanted it to stay behind, oh believe me, they would do it and find ways to do so.

They just see more pros than cons with BTC for themselves.

It still surprises me how strongly government actions affect the price of Bitcoin. It’s a currency that was created to be independent of any state, yet it remains deeply influenced by geopolitics.

I think a real threat to bitcoin would be a total and prolonged loss of electricity. But in today’s reality, there is no practical way to carry out such a scenario on a global scale, so its popularity is unlikely to collapse because of that. Yes, wars or attacks can locally create power outages and infrastructure problems, but people are not trees, they can relocate to better conditions and create autonomous energy sources for themselves. As for potential actions from governments, I doubt they could realistically implement strict laws against bitcoin right now. In many cases, it’s also useful to them, including for their own interests.

No one can destroy bitcoin once it does not do such to itself, the network has all the immunity needed to prevent it from any form of attack, we should be rest assured that bitcoin is not like other asset we have to doubt about their existence or future value or relevance, because it appreciates over time, except the protocols in which the network was build are no longer in concession and this is mostly impossible to happen.

There is no one specific person or group of people who can completely destroy Bitcoin. However, it may have some impact on the Bitcoin ecosystem, as 90% of mining pools are currently owned by the big four. I think that as our technology improves, the use of Bitcoin will increase, and Bitcoin technology has already become very common. And if you think about the price, maybe there are some giant companies or wells that can exert their influence in the short term in the manufacture of Bitcoin prices. But in the long term, it will never be valid or sustainable.

It does not mean anything. You are a delusional religious zealot with cultist thinking, that is why you want to assign meaning to meaningless events. There are people who have coins that are very old and are from the time when Satoshi was still here. They will move these coins eventually, and everyone who assigns meaning to this event is just being an idiot that does not have anything better to do in their lives.

Satoshi can never "appear" again. You seem to fail to understand that there is no way that someone can prove that they were Satoshi. Stop making up bullshit, we have had many "Satoshis" appear over the last 10 years and nothing happened because of it. Some had even "proof" that fooled scammers like Gavin Anderson to believe in it.

He is dead, if you don't understand why then that is an you issue. It does not change the fact that he is dead. The online identity that was satoshi can never be again, Satoshi is no more.

There is no one specific person or group of people who can completely destroy Bitcoin. However, it may have some impact on the Bitcoin ecosystem, as 90% of mining pools are currently owned by the big four. But in the long term, it will never be valid or sustainable.
Centralization of mining power can not destroy Bitcoin, it can only weaken it temporarily. It is well understood that from an economic perspective, there will never be a massive scale attack on Bitcoin through miners as long as miners are actual corporations in a capitalistic system. Did you ever hear of somebody willingly destroying billions worth of their own assets? We are not talking about some manipulations to do some tax magic, we are talking about the actual destruction of your own value. You don't, at least nobody sane would do it and most certainly not several corporations simultaneously. Bitcoin can not be killed through the collusion of miners in any circumstance.

Bitcoin can not be destroyed. Common for crying out loud, it is not some random project that can be easily diminished. We're talking a solid project that can stand properly on its own and have survived the crucial heavy bearish season that comes and go. Bitcoin have been around in the past decades and those investors who are acquainted with this project have started making good runs for the promising future ahead of bitcoin. What's the existence of bitcoin cryptocurrency? We know it to become the first project in cryptocurrency that rise to the very moon and still existing till this particular phase.

Bitcoin is very volatile when it comes to trading. Although there are other ways to enchanced your Ps and nailing every corner of the market. We just have to get the right strategy started and know exactly what we're doing in the market because any slide mistakes, it attracts losses and losses are the main thing we ought to avoid in the market.

A large EMP strike would. Or governments worldwide unilaterally agreeing on making Bitcoin "illegal" for mainstream use. A new coin with a superior tech than Blockchain can also render Bitcoin obsolete (thereby destroying it).

There are many ways in which Bitcoin can be "destroyed". It's highly-unlikely, given how strong Bitcoin is these days. But never say never. We should always have a Plan A, Plan B, and Plan C, just in case. Who knows what mysteries lie ahead way beyond in the future?

Destroying bitcoin is a difficult task, and even the person who created Bitcoin is not in control of bitcoin, making it a decentralized asset. If something is in your own control, it is very easy to destroy it, but you cannot actually destroy what is not under your control.
Before now, Bitcoin had many critics, many never believed in the potential of bitcoin to the extent that they even tag Bitcoin to be a scam asset, this criticism alone is enough to destroy Bitcoin potential, and enable people to dump their Bitcoin asset.
Even though the founder of bitcoin will not accept to destroy what he or she has struggled to created for the betterment of the people, to be sincere to ourselves, I think Satoshi has the power to do anything to bitcoin either to destroy bitcoin or make bitcoin to continue existing for upcoming generations to benefit from it, secondly government can destroy bitcoin too because they can set up a committees that will monitor the law the government will going to put in place against bitcoin and it will make people not to invest in bitcoin or do anything concerning bitcoin investment or transaction.

Bitcoin has already gone so far. So even if Satoshi is forced to destroy bitcoin, he's no longer in full control with bitcoin.

Selling all his coins will only cause a temporary massive price drop, but it cannot destroy the whole system of bitcoin.

Let's just accept that bitcoin existence is here for good. The only reason that it will be fully destroyed is when the people behind the bitcoin community will leave bitcoin, or when all the bitcoin investors decide to sell their coins and leave bitcoin without hesitation.

Sure, bitcoin can't be destroyed because is uncontrollably and the satoshi can't destroyed bitcoin in any way, the only things that he can do is to just make the market get badly and bitcoin will get deeply if he sell all is bitcoin. People are getting benefits in bitcoin and he will be very hard to see they sell there bitcoin easily.

Anything can be possible at times but with how bitcoin is currently I don't think bitcoin can ends in this generation because if bitcoin destroyed i think other crypto can be crash too and everything about cryptocurrency won't function like before. So the way I understand bitcoin have never think that bitcoin can be destroyed or leave one day because my mind doesn't used to go to that place because is not going to be possible for me bitcoin comes to stay nothing can makes it down and I believe with that.

Only Satoshi himself would Grin

But to be honest - I agree with you. Never underestimate the possibilities of the future.

I read this thread out and a friend of mine here with me said, best way that bitcoin can be destroyed now is by declaring Jeffery Esptein satoshi even though he is dead already bitcoin will go down, but I see some sense in it but however in my opinion it’s still not going to destroy bitcoin because the community could hold bitcoin from failing finally if they want to regardless of who the creator is.

But let’s put imaginary things outside and focus on reality, since we probably not seeing bitcoin getting destroyed lets focus more on grabbing the opportunity it has brought us than find what could destroy.
What could destroy Bitcoin nobody knows, some has said that it's only Satoshi that can destroy Bitcoin but no body knows who is Satoshi of he is still even alive or dead, i don't also think that the creator of Bitcoin will want to destroy it, Bitcoin has changed the lives of many Bitcoin is also still in existence we should focus on accumulating Bitcoin, though nobody really knows what will happen to Bitcoin in future in a safe way we can invest with your discretionary income.
