I do not really think it goes that way, as you have said, as having a bottle of beer does not create any anxiety while a game is ongoing or after a game. Drinking of beer is just for enntertainment purpose and does not in anyway causes anything extra to it. However, whomever deem it fit to drink while watching a live event is free to do so as that is also a means of them entertaining themselves, so there is nothing bad or wrong about it.

You guys wasn't planning on getting drunk or are you?, if is a very small intake it shouldn't make you feel any anxiety, this is actually how we use to discuss about control in some other gambling thread, if you only drank the quantity you could very well control you wouldn't act abnormal if your games failed because you would always reacted the same way you are when you have not taking the alcohol and besides before someone would go for alcohol you are definitely not a novice on it because is only a novice that could get an anxiety from just a little drank of it, so actually if you can take and control, anxiety wouldn't work on you through the little alcohol but however a person should no there immune capacity on alcohol.

Sincerely speaking I don't believe that talk more of thinking such have a way in. Besides there's nothing to debate on this honestly cause whether one takes in beer just to keep up with the moment while gambling doesn't imply that it necessitate or guarantee anything. It's more or less something that keeps one in a comfortable state just as they enjoy the moments.

People are different. To some people, drinking beer might actually be capable of triggering their emotions and increase anxiety. To others, beer is just part of the fun and enjoyment, it could be just a means of calming the nerves. So, we cannot really judge what is true or not using our own personal experiences as a case study. People truly react differently to beer/alcohol.

For someone like me, beer doesn't really mean a thing while watching the match, as long as I am not drinking while in the act of gambling, I will really be cool. What I am strongly against is gambling or betting while drunk.

I've been to viewing centers a lot of times with friends and though I am not a lover of beer, we still sometimes order beer and drink while watching the teams play, especially if the match is being played in a hot afternoon and the beer is chilled, sometimes, we even add peppersoup to the beer 😋

So, what i am saying in essence is that I don't see any way having beer and watching a football match causes anxiety, but I understand that sometimes, what be a man's food could be another man's poison, just as our faces are different, so are things we like and don't like, but like I've said before, having beer while watching a match only makes the match more interesting to watch especially if it's a hot afternoon.

It should be, as you tell me it will only have a more pleasant effect because while drinking beer and enjoying the game.

But if some people experience anxiety maybe not because of the beer or food consumed, but because the team chosen for betting is competing against a stronger team and has less chance of winning,
then one will panic and be more anxious despite drinking a cold beer in hot anchovies.

I think that sharing beers with friends is an act of relaxation; it's about talking and sharing There's no anxiety there. Anxiety arises when a person turns to alcohol to drown their sorrows; that's where it's bad But if it's a time to share, have a barbecue, joke around, and talk about everything, I consider it worthwhile and necessary. I don't see any anxiety there.

I think I can help you out here. I have recently talked to a Bitcointalk member and he told me he went to university again because he wanted to acquire a psychology degree in order to understand the deep minds on this forum better.

@stompix, anxiety is a serious problem and I recently heard that a guy bought a rope and jumped off a bridge (forgot to tie the rope though) after his favourite club finished the game with a draw although this particular fan expected a win. They have done thorough investigation and camera pictures have shown it was that one beer he bought in the stadium. Otherwise he was psychologically in great shape, no mental illnesses, physical condition on Olympics level. What do you think can be done here? I really understand this topic had to be addresses OP because this may be about reinforced anxiety feelings, but every time my favourite club loses and I drink beer, I suddenly feel the urge to stab my blue goldfish (Henry) with my plastic Samurai sword. I know it sounds weird, but I feel this is the right place to share my feelings...

To be honeist my reaction would be different on checking the cameras
- check if the guy has been there this morning or before the event
- check if the guy has been watching where the cameras point at and he has chosen the same spot

Seems to me more like a tiktok challenge than an actual suicide!

I really understand this topic had to be addressed, OP because this may be about reinforced anxiety feelings, but every time my favourite club loses and I drink beer, I suddenly feel the urge to stab my blue goldfish (Henry) with my plastic Samurai sword.

And you never managed once?  Grin

Exactly what he is saying, but he didn't make it brief just like you did. For me I don't think buying beer and watching live matches could increase one's anxiety because while you are drinking beer and also watching live matches your mind will be at rest you won't be afraid of losing or being worried about the outcome. But I think it all depends on gamblers because naturally some gamblers usually feel worried whenever they are watching live matches even while watching with beer on their hands yet it can't ease their pressure instead the feeling might be worster than it was when they didn't apply anything.

This is very correct, I can relate to what you are saying here, every body is not the same, there are some people that do not watch live match because once they do, it increase their anxiety because they staked on the game, while some people can drink beer while watching the live match that they staked on and yet they won't be affected in any way  but if someone else does that, they will be affected.

Well this is just like an argument between us watching live match between Juventus vs Galatasaray match. Which they have already concealed 1 v 2, and the match is still currently running. A friend of mine asked of having a beer while we keep watching the match as it plays, between us I mean our 3, one person insisted that we shouldn't buy anything that this could Make think so much that if the game doesn't go as we planned it would lead to much anxiety and pain towards us. Although I did bet on the game so I am actually neutral from the game but I am also supporting Juventus to win against Gal.

Now, my question is; do you really think having beer while watching the match could increase your anxiety toward how they may probably play out or result to, could this be true?
Taking a beer while watching a match only makes you feel relaxed, unless if you drink in excess and probably got drunk. Because for me I absolutely see nothing wrong with taking a few bottles of alcoholic beer with probably dry meat while watching a match, because that will only help you in enjoying the match more and staying calm. Unless if you place a bet for Juventus to win against Galatasaray and Juventus lost the game, that's the only point and moment you might feel moody. However, this also boils down to personality traits in such individual, because some people while watching a live football match, can still be very anxious if his team is losing, even without taking a beer.

I wouldn't really know since I don't really drink alcohol. What I do and a lot of people know is that alcohol, such as beer, if they drink enough, could affect the way you think and can also affect your emotions, so maybe there is some truth in what your friend is saying, but of course, it is also possible that it wouldn't cause your anxiety to act up and you'll just be drunk or tipsy.

Anyone vulnerable to anxiety will surely experience it, whether they drink beer or not. One thing I have learnt when taking alcohol is that taking too much of it makes us vulnerable to things happening in our environment. If the feeling in the environment is joy, it increases it, if it is sadness, it also makes things worse. Alcohol stirs all things up. So yeah, I agree it will push for anxiety, while you are watching the game.

Now, my question is; do you really think having beer while watching the match could increase your anxiety toward how they may probably play out or result to, could this be true?

After drinking alcohol nothing normal is see in a person what is revealed is abnormal. In fact, a person who drinks alcohol is not in a healthy and normal state he no longer understands whether whatever he does is good or bad he is completely submerged in it. After drinking alcohol whatever he does the risk of it increases relatively more. There is no doubt that if a gambler drinks alcohol while watching a game then anxiety will really increase.

For the fact that you don't take alcoholics drinks never means or prompt quick judgement to those that see it as a way of reducing stress, secondly it is not all drinking can make one drunk that's why all that drinks are not drinkers. One joy experienced in watching football games is the argument that exists in the viewing centres and at times plays i good role in reducing stress in human. Not that there is something special in going to watch games or will increase one anxiety but is just the sacrifice we can offer for the love we have for sports and also can be seen as an entertainment source

It depends per person.

Because we're not different on how we take the excitement of the games. Some people are taking beer for the reason that it increases their fighting spirit for doing things like watching the games they bet for.

So, it's only ourselves that we can tell if it's going to work for us or not. But if others are telling that it won't really give that much difference or there's no effect at all, that's them and we have to respect our differences about it.

Does this really matter?
I do not think it has to do with anything that concerns your winning or not, and having a bottle of beer or alcohol can not change your games that you had already booked.
So, buying a bottle of beer is like just using it to whine away your time while you game keeps running.
It's not that important. Ultimately, you win the match, and even if you made your prediction, the outcome wouldn't change. It's just a matter of your mood. If you want to drink beer, you can I don't think anxiety increases much when you're drunk, you just feel bad after the effects wear off, that's all. I'm not saying you should drink alcohol, but there's no reason not to have one once in a while.

Yes, there's different type of drinks. we have soft and hard ones which some gamblers is likely to go for the soft one while some gamblers can decide to go for the hard Ones it's just a matter of choice, But I must say that sometimes I go for hard drink that's when I feel like taking it but I usually go for soft drinks while watching football match but my friends usually tell me that taking hard drink is more preferable while gambling as it will make you forget all your Borden, sometimes you might even forget that you place a bet.

Beer means alcohol, returning to addiction, sometimes we see many addicts behaving aggressively in their actions, there are things that must be done without drinking alcohol, they cannot think normally and are not calm.

The problem of beer and these people comes back to each of them, that is the nature and principle of not everyone who watches the match must be identified with beer but there are also, as the OP mentioned, it all comes back to each of them to deal with life's problems, sometimes they are comfortable with beer on the side and sometimes not too.

There's no problem with drinking beer as long as you are drinking moderately. I actually love to drink beer while watching live matches and it gives me more drive to keep the winning positivity.

But if you don't have limits and control from drinking beer, that would be a big problem then. Its like you are there to drink but not to gamble. So expect that aside that you get dizzy, the result as well will make you anxious especially if you end up losing your bet.

Drinking beer is never bad, unless if you turn to be abusive on your body and drink like there's no tomorrow.
