The main purpose of gambling is for fun. If not, we have overattached monetary value to it, and then there is no point to gamble. When you are no longer getting that fun and entertainment, you already get it from other places. The urge you do feel to gamble is not for entertainment again, but something in you is making you feel that you are missing money you could have been winning from a few games you somehow have confidence you can predict. My advice is try as much as you can never to bypass your new rules of depositing only a little amount and never try to chase your losses if it doesn't play as you predict.

This is not my approach and I have never thought about it till now you have shared about it and how it works for you in helping you not to gamble to exceed your intended amount of deposit you have fixed your mind on.

What I will propose is that you keep to the approach and entangle more with what activity that you spoke of to have made you cut down your time and money you spend gambling prior to this time.

Everyone has their own way of gambling - but what you're doing now is something someone else has already done for the same or different reasons. Sports betting doesn't take up much of your time - especially since you simply enter your selections, confirm the bet and wait for the match to finish. It's simple - but it's not as exciting if you don't watch the game. But to be honest - I don't know exactly what you expect from gambling, your approach will not be fun at all even if there is a possibility of winning big on your bets.

Usually - casino games tend to be fun, but you have to lose a lot of time there. Let's take the example of slot games - this is just one of the games that is quite difficult to win because we can never guess whether the spin will end in a win or maybe we have to lose all the balance.

It's a responsible approach towards gambling, so you should be fine. You are respecting your financial limits, while trying to control your emotions in order to not be dragged by gambling. I just think you don't need to be so rigid regards playing only one or two games. If you feel like you should try more games with that same amount of money, why not? Splitting the bankroll into several bets can allow you to gamble for longer, without having to spend more money at same time.

If you are going to gambling just to earn money, then, for sure, you will have financial troubles later on. I don't think you will always get the winnings that you want. So if you are not ready losing that amount of money, better, use small and spare funds. Don't stake what you don't want to lose. Because this is gambling, you can easily lose that money.

This is how sports betting should be. Pick less risky games, know that the outcome is either a loss or a win, place your stake, and leave the casino. Whatever the outcome should not bother you. If it is a win, that's fine, and if you lose hope on the next one.

I also like the approach you use. Which is betting on a single game. A single game is better than multiple bets IMO. Multiple bet is more risky.

Whether you do it for fun or not, the main thing is your realization that losses is part of the game, as well as the acceptance of whatever outcome you get while gambling....Truth is that a lot of folks claims that they are gambling for fun, but when the losses comes, they become so angry and emotional disturbed,... Your approach isn't bad at all but it all depends on the particular amount of money you stake with, if it is a high amount then taking such risks isn't worth it. i know a lot of people think that staking a huge amount on a small odds is actually safe, well maybe it is to gamblers but I don't think it is because you might end up losing all of it. if you take responsibly then there is nothing wrong with your strategy.

Very well agreed with you, betting with high amount increases your risks, since once you lose your entire bankroll may get wiped out, so for safety measures, you have to gamble with a smaller amount of money, and keep having fun without overstepping your desired and needed boundaries, what gambler's most agree with is the fact that gambling winnings can't be determined by expertise or skills o increasing your gambling amount because you have trust and confidence in your skills can land one in bigger problem.

Any approach that doesn't work well with risk management is a waste of time because in the long run you are still going to lose in the long run. Always make sure that you stake an amount of money that you can afford to lose otherwise your approach would not make much difference. personally I don't really like to stake high on any game even though I feel like there's a high chance of winning.

Yep, a lot of people do this. Keep yourself busy so you won’t keep thinking about gambling. That helps divert your attention to other things, and it should be more thrilling or something you really like to do for it to be effective and make you think about gambling less. It’s normal to sometimes feel the urge to gamble even if you’ve been practicing self control for a long time, we’re human beings. That is an approach I have never tried myself, to be honest. So I can't give much insight on whether it is appropriate for someone who is not feeling like gambling as they used to in the past.

If you don't feel gambling or betting to be as fun as it used to be, then perhaps it would be better and more straight forwards for you just to take a long rest from gambling an focus on those activities you mentioned.

You won't stop being a gambler just for taking a time for other things which also matter to you, and casinos will be at the same place, waiting for you when you decided your hiatus is over.

If you are spend money at something you do not like, then you are wasting it.
As a veteran player, which I believe you are, you should know that on the long run you will lose more money than will gain with this "strategy" that you are adopting, right!? So why you continue with it?

I bet because I enjoy following football, so I do it because it is an "extension" a hobby that I already have, otherwise I would have stoped too, but sports betting on football still attracts me because it helps me stay informed and always searching the leagues that I follow.

Have you ever tried betting on predictive markets? It is something that has been atracting attention and becoming increasingly popular today, maybe it is a way for you to continue betting and perhaps with more interest to you.

For me, I would just deposit the budget I have for the month and gamble that. I don't want to hassle myself depositing continuously just to "feed my urge" to gamble. I don't gamble much, but I manage my budget and don't deposit more than I should. That's how I am trying to do this.

I don't do this because it's so inconvenient. I'd rather make a bigger deposit and use small portions for betting. If it grows, I might withdraw some. If my wallet is drained, I'll refill it in bulk. But it usually takes weeks, even months, before I make another deposit.

But, yeah, I agree that it's risky because we sometimes lose control and turn into an impulsive bettor. Also, I've experienced betting an erroneous amount, which is far larger than I supposed to bet. That's why I'm maintaining a moderate amount.

The disadvantage of depositing only the right amount that you bet is the lack of flexibility. I sometimes take advantage of the changing odds while the game is ongoing. I can't do it if I don't have a slightly larger bankroll.

Because you are still going to losing even with this approach that you are using, I already know that the terms of gambling is that losses are inevitable, that is why I prefer to gamble with an amount that I can afford to lose. Yeah, me too, I already tried this approach before but always ended up losing! Most of the time I expereinced this when I'm really feeling down or like stressed and I don't really feel to play gambling at all like dice game so I intend to put my bet on the sports instead (mostly are basketball games).

The main reason for many people to feel like gambling and using higher amount of money or using more than the amount of money that they can afford to lose is because they are looking for money from gambling. So to find out why the urge should not be hard for them.

I do similar approach as you do. If I want to playing gambling, I will deposit certain amount and have fun with it. I don't want to see more losses so I will not longer my session for that day. Gambling is about lucky for me so I never push myself chasing the wins because that can makes me just losses more money.

Since you said, you ain't gambling for fun, are you gambling for profits or gambling because of the urge to gamble. However, it's a good approach and it's the same thing like having a gambling budget for a particular session and stop the game at the right time. If you're gambling due to the urge, you should stop gambling because you're gradually getting addicted.

It always comes down to amount that you choose to gamble with no matter the strategy that you feel comfortable to apply, either you want to go all in on one or few games or you want to compile games in a parley how much you use to bet matters most. If you choose to gamble just once or twice in a week and use a lot of money to stake it it's not much different money wise if you use the same amount to gamble everyday. The point is that we should always use amount that we are comfortable to loose if we want to gamble responsibly. If you feel bored in gambling then take a break and whenever you decide to continue you should focus on using small amounts.
