Does anyone else try this approach?

Lately I really don't find gambling to be that exciting anymore, at least not as exciting as it used to be before. Prolly because I've discovered and indulged lately in other activities that entertains me more than gambling, but sometimes i still feel the urge to gamble and I'm always afraid whenever i get this urge to gamble, afraid that I might lose it since I'm not really doing it for fun lately. So what i do lately (like today) whenever i get the urge to play is deposit a particular amount, find a singlr game or two (in sports betting BTW) and stake with all the money and leave the casino with whatever outcome of the bet, if i lose, that's the end of my session for that day, i leave knowing i wasn't ucky, and if I win, i withdraw my wins immediately knowing I've made some good profits that day.

The reason for this approach is to prevent me from being sucked into the casino since I know I'm not playing for fun afterall, anything can happen. So is there anyone who also tries this approach and what do you guys think about this approach?

I always divide my gaming deposit into a certain number of bets, because I know that if I place all the money I have on one bet and lose, it will greatly affect my mood. That’s why I split my deposit into a large number of bets, and based on my experience, most of those bets should be winning ones. So even if I don’t win some of them, my deposit won’t decrease significantly. I like this approach much more.

This is similar to how I gamble, if I win I am leaving immediately before I change my mind, it takes nothing to go back on your own plan as a gambler that's why critical decision is very important.

If you lose money that you already plan to risk on gambling for that day its also better to take your leave or quit, this method is helpful for people who are just starting out.

If gambling is not fun for you anymore it's better you leave gambling space for a while, find something else that can make you happy or have some fun like going outdoor with your family or friends or watching some movies.

I think you are approaching the point where gambling, as a form of entertainment, does not give you the satisfaction like it used to. Given that you only bet the amount of money that you allocated for the day, the urge of spending more isn't there anymore. This really means perhaps that you're moving-on from this habit due to the fact that you have already found another passion which gives you more joy.

Have I tried this approach like what you did OP? I tried it and this became effective on me quitting my for a few years in my gambling habit.

Every gambler has their own way of betting. You, I, and Op also have our own ways of betting. 
But sometimes, when you face the problem of not being able to stop gambling, you can try some methods used by others, like what Op did to control their urge to gamble. 
Some people have the self-control to limit their gambling, while others bet freely and have a higher risk of addiction.

You don't have to check them always, but at least at the end of the game you can always go back to check on your ticket. As for me, most times I bet on some of the games I follow up on, or at least I add a few games that I know I will watch the match for when it's playing. You're absolutely correct that's the real truth about it. Honestly, there's nothing good than being discipline because that is the key to navigating the industry without any stress. Sometimes we need to understand that gambling for fun doesn't mean you are fully satisfied with any outcome, things can easily turn against you if you don't know how to stop and call it a day because that's exactly why you see some fun gambler get caught up in the game because they weren't able to stop in the right time.

This is exactly what I've been talking about: refocusing your attention on something else to distract yourself from the object of your passion. This works with any activity, not just gambling.

You employ an interesting tactic, and I'd say it's rational, in my opinion, because it prevents you from losing more than you expect while still leaving you with a chance to win. In a way, it's like finding a balance between the desire to play and controlling the gameplay.

I think you can practice this as long as it doesn't cause you any trouble (or losses).

Sometimes, you can find incredible information in the discussions here that I wouldn't have thought of on my own.

Well basically even me I did the same thing here is when I get tired of playing gambling or even dont have an energy but I wanted to make a bet I make a position for the upcoming matches and leave it sometimes I just get back if I win good If i lose still good because no much pressure or too much energy given to the game just making a chill on the game. But of course it hits different if there is a spike of excitement into yourself upon playing with the casino so better to take a break if you feel exhausted.

Yeah, I’ve felt that sometimes because I get bored with the game although there are tons of games, many of them don’t catch my attention. Whenever I gamble at a casino or on sportsbetting, it doesn’t make me feel excited like it used to. The difference is, you’re still depositing and betting, but for me, when I find something else that entertains me more, I don’t touch gambling at that time. But it only lasts a few months when I start missing the feeling of gambling, I play again and the cycle repeats.

It’s not that bad tho. Maybe you’re just getting bored like me, seeing the same stuff almost every day. Try taking a break and when the feeling to gamble appears again, you might feel the same excitement.

Very good but in all, any strategy or way a person chooses to place their bet on sports games or play other games like slot and casino games won't guarantee them winning, because just as it's already established here, winning in gambling doesn't revolve around strategy, mostly it's luck that usually turn out to have the final say to a gambler winning or losing their bets in gambling.

We can employ some type of strategy when it comes to practices that could help us safeguard and manage our bankroll better to allow us play for a longer period of time thereby increasing our chances of encountering a major win, but when it comes to winning and losing, strategy has very little to absolutely no say, and it doesn't matter the type of strategy we come up with, we still end up in the mercy of luck.

But Well no one is really forcing you to gamble you know, the way you speak of it it's like you get nothing from it anymore, no fun, no money etc it's just like it's a must to do it, or are you addicted?
I learnt that if your not benefiting in something, it's better you let it go, you can always let go of gambling if you don't benefit anything from it again, or else it will turn to gambling.

Of course I don't think folks should make gambling a do or die affair.. If a gambler isn't deriving the joy and fun that he does in the past, probably due to the numbers of loses being incurred or for whatever personal reasons like in the OP's case, the best move is to pause gambling for some while and come back to it later on, when the pleasure for it comes back... And if after year and year rolls by and the pleasure doesn't come back then it better that folks stop entirely from being a gambler and go for the things that brings him fun...

Playing for fun can always change the gambling psychology, but every gambler can only play for fun when s/he dont play the game with the funds s/he cant afford to lose, then the energy shifts to being more serious about the game, and the possible chance of focus on something necessary at the wrong time.
This is the area some gamblers missed, and every thing change from playing for fun to playing to chase losses after a game loss is high.
