Last night, I bet on the match between Alexandra Eala and Sorana Cîrstea. Cîrstea was the favorite, Eala was the underdog. I asked AI for a prediction and, as expected, it picked Cîrstea because of ranking and experience.

But I didn’t agree.

I watched Eala’s previous game where she beat a Top 10 player, and she looked confident. So I trusted my own analysis and bet on Eala with high odds (around 5). No screenshot, but the bet won.

This made me realize something.

AI usually thinks like the public. It follows stats, rankings, and odds. Same logic as most casual bettors. It doesn’t really watch games, it doesn’t see momentum or confidence.

AI is trained with documents and it cannot reason beyond it's scope. It works with statistics and gives realistic predictions or results.
This is one the reason why I believe it cannot replace human expertise in decision making since it's not psychological nor emotional when giving off results. You were able to pick out the underdog since you've noticed her recent form and that's psychologically she's better prepared for the flight, but AI judged with their overall performances.

AI is as accurate as it can statistically, but you watching the matches can make more informed decision from your own observation. I don't trust AI to make gambling predictions for me.

What do you expect, AI tools are configured to work with public data and information, and whatever AI gives you as information is taken from what is available in the public domain. However, notwithstanding that, in gambling, no tool or bot can give you 100% accurate results. Whatever results you may feel you get from a game's analysis by AI, you still need luck to win your bet.
So, no AI can give accurate sports predictions; you have to depend on your luck and instincts sometimes to be able to win.

This is not something new. AI don't think for themselves; they process the data that they have been fed. Whether it's correct or wrong, they just give it out based on how they get it from their source. Sometimes they can be right, but when it comes to prediction, they will always either go with public opinion or go with their own analysis based on the information they have on both teams, and the information they have might be limited, not like you who follow up on both teams on their various games and know their strengths.

The betting sites will only be happy to see people to be fooled by AI. I know how AI work so I have never bother to make use of it in gambling. Even when I am trading, I do not make use of AI.

AI is only useful for me in getting information which I was using google search for before. It can give you the information faster, but when it comes to things like predicting the future like in gambling, I know AI is a failure.

I have noticed this also and that's why I use the old means of checking stats and previous games performance to rate the latest matches, instead of trusting AI to do the analysis for me.
As at now, I still feel that AI is still in its developmental stages and have not gotten absolute perfection and as such, gamblers who rely on AI analytics tools both in gambling and trading may have to be comfortable with the results they get because it is not a 100% guarantee for success.

We already have threads like this in the past isn't it? That someone tested AI to give him which fighter to bet in a UFC match. And it didn't turn up well too. And so we can conclude that maybe in any sector that still involves human emotions and analysis, AI is still lagging behind.

But AI is evolving very quick as well, so maybe in the next years or so, it's learning capacity can easily adapt or factor in human emotions or many analyzed the previous games like here so that it can come up with at least a prediction that has factor in some feel of emotions and that will be scary to see.

This is so true. I think I have said this before here in this sub. AI only gathers information from sources that have comprehensive statistics about a team or an individual player. AI dont watch the games live, they dont feel the emotions and reactions, which makes their prediction worse than the prediction of humans.

I have known about AI for a long time now, I can't have a similar experience because I dont use AI to make predictions.

The earlier people start realising that ai isn't really something that is accurate when it comes to using it to bet they would stop placing so much reliance on it. relying on ai is a very risky gamble because it gets wrong as well, what ai simply does is that it gathers informations from the web and put them together, so those informations don't just come from it directly, this is the more reason why we need to be careful when using it.

This is why if you must use AI in gambling, it should not be to make final decisions but maybe to help influence your final decision. Correct. It's way different than a human perspective, and we can win underdog bets thanks to our own instinct.

Congratulations on winning the bet. Truly, Alex Eala is one of the rising stars in the sports industry, and I think she will be underestimated many, many times while AI keeps on predicting that her opponents will be the winners because of their stats and records.
We can actually take advantage of this. If we are really following the sport, we can have a high chance of winning a good amount by picking underdog odds, which is definitely satisfying.

As AI is basing on the info available over cyberspace, it means, it will indeed pick Sorana as she's the favorite on this match. If AI will based on the current ranking and previous history, definitely, it will choose Sorana. But if you are a keen follower of this sports. You will bet on Eala as she's the rising star on this sports. And more than likely, she will be the underdog.

And now the next match, Gauff vs Eala. And Eala is again the underdog at around 3.x odds. Of course, AI will choose Gauff here because she is currently no. 4 vs no. 47 for Eala. But if you feel that this young rising star, Eala has the chance to beat Gauff, this is like gonna be an interesting match. As Eala is beating a lot of world's top tennis players.

AI is only able to identify who has more winning chances and who has the lesser. It just identifies the favorite and the underdog. However, it's worthless, because that is exactly what bookies already do when stipulating the odds for each matches... I believe AIs right now are just a more developed and smarter Google searcher tool machine. That is why they are Artificial intelligence, they don't read more than statistics or data analysis giving by the public. mood can't be detected or other human characteristics can't be seen by the AI since they don't watch the games so if course they are meant to fail on this except their is a high level of upgrade that will allow AI to watch the games or matches and then also learn how play more with the emotions. The same predictions you get when you use Ai for predictions will be what the book markers and other sports analyst will predict if you are following them before the games, the difference between human predictions and that of AI is the analysis you will get faster using AI which humans may take a little more time before giving you the best options.

If you are a regular fan of a particular sports and you watch a particular team you should know what to predict when they have a match with an opponent though changes happens due to some unforseen circumstances and some unfortunate things in the game but you have high chances of winning when you bet on a particular team you know or an athlete you are always watching.
