I tagged @snarlpill about a month ago as he suddenly woke up after 2021 and straight away applied for two signature campaigns (1 & 2).
Strangely, after that day he disappeared again. Since the account seems to be highly reputable and could be used for malicious purposes, leveraging the past reputation, hence this topic. Be very cautious before dealing with him.  
This is not an attack on @snarlpill's reputation in any manner, just a public topic with preventive measures in mind. This will be locked at the same minute, he will provide proof that he is the real owner of the account.
EDIT: A PM has been sent in case he has not noticed the tag for last one month.

Seems like he has done that in the past, showing up after a few years of being away and applying for a signature campaign, for example this case from 2018, when he applied for CM. After asked, he provided signed message confirming that he is the original owner.

Also, bpip shows no change of email or password, just that he like to wake up every few years.

Based on how he applied for the campaigns in the past, he might be the same person. Probably someone who just goes on and off the forum, and what probably draws attention is how he applies after a couple of years of being inactive, while promising that his post quality will be good.

To be honest, i don't think he even stands a chance of getting enrolled without being active prior to applying for a signature campaign

I don't think the said user is bought/hacked account as your tags reads because judging from the last post made by that user in this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5571860.msg66309925#msg66309925 it shows that he is an old time member who has not been active in the forum after he made last post in 2021 but in the security/update log by bpip.org, it shows that the account last woke up on 23 October 2022 before it became inactive until January 14 2026 when the account woke up again and started applying for signature campaigns.

For him to prove that he owns the profile will require a signed message but that will be if he staked his bitcoin address in the forum. However, there are many people that have been inactive in the forum for years and some only visits when a signature campaign is open.

People have the right to take a break from the forum for years and return back, they do not owe anyone any explanation except there is/are suspicious activity about the account after they wake up, maybe a proof of ownership of their account might be necessary to clear doubts.

I would have been bothered if the color of the tag had been red. However, if you suspect it's changing hands, you may leave neutral feedback,, and I think that's fine. As other forum members already mentioned, it seems this member did similar things before, and there are no changes in his account information, such as email or password. So, it is kind of safe to assume he is the real owner of the account.

Personally, I would be angry if someone create a thread against me without showing any real evidence of their claim. I would say, it is better to lock the thread and keep your eyes on his account for now and then open the thread again if you find something suspecious.

I though about it but I think prevention is better (in case I am right), besides that there is no need to be angry or anything, I expect the same treatment for myself if I respawn after 4 -5 years.

As other forum members already mentioned, it seems this member did similar things before,

I think we can tolerate one reputation topic every 4-5 years, specially if the account is reputed with high trust ratings.

I see no reason to believe this account changed hands. The account is 10 years older than OP, used to trade physical items, and now comes back every couple of years trying to get paid to continue posting.

I understand your point, and I believe he will not see it as an attack and I still believe after he prove himself in this your thread people won’t bother asking same question you asked except someone who didn’t see this your thread.
But I believe his still the same person, if an account is hacked, the hacker will quickly change the password of the account to prevent the real owner from logging in to the account again, and then proceed to change the Email, and in the case no password or email was changed and for that reason I strongly believe the account is not hacked except the owner sold it which i doubt he did, to clear the Air he should prove his ownership again. But just like I said, I believe his the same person.

I often see members here disappear for a long time, then appear again on this forum, yes, some of the responses are questionable, some of the accounts have been sold, some are still controlled by the original owners.

Regarding accounts @snarlpill, I see BPIP no changes to passwords, emails and so on, just marked good, for me that's common and normal.

Moreover, on the @snarlpill profile there is a BTC address that has been used from the past until now.

In my view the account is still controlled by the original owner.
Except: The address that registered in the campaign changed, the password changed, the email changed, it might be a little suspicious, but it looks like everything is still original, however the behavior of the account needs to be monitored, who knows, but I'm sure for now it's still under the control of the original.

Given his M.O., you might have to wait a couple of years before he reappears.  

Tbh, if I were him, I would just ignore such requests. It's not like he changed his email and password or applied for a loan. He just did what he's been doing for years, waking up once in a while and trying to get into a signature campaign.

There is no request btw, just a public post explaining my intentions for preventive measures.
He dont have to post it here if he dont care about my tags/opinion, whenever wherever he will post the proof this will be locked and tag will be removed.
