I would say what Manny had was exhibition as well no matter how much "official" it was considered.

Also I would like to point out this isn't an "official" match neither, sure maybe that is the case officially, I do not know, but this is just a scripted fake boxing between two old fighters and nothing to gain from this.

Do not expect the type of fights we see from title fighters or anything like that, it will not be the case and we are going to see a boring case of two old geezers who is only out there to make some money.

I won't go to the extend of calling this fight as rigged. That said, this is not going to be a very competitive match. And that is the difference between exhibition matches and professional matches. But that doesn't matter for the vast majority of the fans. Manny Pacquiao's fans in the Philippines and abroad wants to watch him in action and throw a few punches at Mayweather. That's all. I really doubt whether they have any other expectations. And Mayweather is just there for the money. If someone is ready to throw a few tens of millions of USD for 1-2 hours, then why should he reject the offer?

Probably the last opportunities to watch them in live action. Manny Pacquiao was in action last time in July 2025, when he faced Mario Barrios. The fight ended in a draw, although one of the judges scored it as a win for Barrios. He is returning to the ring in less than one year. But for Floyd Mayweather, the last time we saw him in action was a while ago. His last professional match was in 2017, against Conor McGregor. After that he took part in more than half a dozen exhibition fights, and the last one was in 2024 when he fought against John Gotti III at the Mexico City Arena.

I'm not really sure on what you call official. It has been reported that this is a professional fight, so it is being sanction by a boxing commission. So if that is the case, then it might not be faked unless this organization are willing to take part on this "rigged" fight according to you.

Yes, it could be all for the money, but if you have followed Manny Pacquiao's career, he is keen on avenging his defeat to Floyd in 2015. He said that he is not healthy and suffering from a shoulder injury. So what a better way to take your revenge and then still earn a lot of money from it.

I believe less in Mike vs Floyd fight to happen than Floyd vs Pacman. Come one, today Mike is no longer a challenge for any professional boxer with skills like Floyd. He is almost 60. Before fight against Jake Paul that was 1.5 years ago, Tyson already had number of health problems. Even though it was exhibition professional fight, it was difficult for Mike. And now he is jumping against a real professional boxer, who used to be one of the best. It is not like there are zero chance, chances are negative.

It would be legally reprehensible to be able to fine someone for medical circumstances outside of their control.  He might forfeit sums already received and obviously wish to avoid that outcome.  A fight cannot go ahead with a danger to life or one of the boxers facing serious medical issues, that would bring manslaughter liability, the insurance coverage for the event would be void all sorts of negatives that it just wouldn't go ahead.

I guess if Mike Tyson withdraws due to medical reasons, then clause of "Force majeure" will apply as stated by STT. But then, he needs to take part in a rescheduled fight (once he recovers, obviously). Else it is not going to be fair for the organizers. BTW, who wants a fight between Manny Pacquiao and Mike Tyson? That can be interesting as well. I want Tyson vs Mayweather sometime this year, and maybe next year Tyson can schedule a fight against Pacquiao. Given his age, Tyson won't be very competitive against either Pacquiao or Mayweather, but it will be fun to watch these guys in action against each other.

I don't think that there is a bad blood between the two, maybe they just clash on what is boxing is right now, and most likely on the talks of who is the GOAT. Tyson, being old school, had Ali as his the best ever, while Floyd thinks he is the best even greater than Ali.

But yeah, perhaps it was due to Tyson's age that he might have back down from this fight. Remember against Jake Paul, Tyson suffers from some medical issue in his stomach if my memory serves me right. And now that Tyson is much older, it's better to just don't push this fight with Floyd.

but according to a statement written by Dan Rafael, he said that the match between Tyson and Mayweather is most possible to be cancelled on April 25 in Congo as previously rumored and rescheduled for a later date with an unconfirmed venue in Congo yet. His reasons were Mayweather’s rematch with Manny could be affect the fight as anything late than a May or a July would conflict with Mayweathers September training for his pro bout against Pacquiao probably becoming the hindrance.

Regardless of the location, it doesn't matter, fight against Tyson will be flock by fans. But again, it's just a exhibition match and it could be just as rigged as the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight. It didn't live up to the hype as compare to fighting Pacquiao, I'm seeing that the first round is going to be a true test so it's very exciting.

Ah, that's a reason why many feel bad with Tyson vs Mayweather. So that game is basically unintended game by those boxers. This is what i'm wondering why does Tyson who being referred as one of legend in boxing was accepting this non sense game.
However, i've heard tyson will get like 20m from his game against mayweather. I can't feel bad to tyson caused by he will able to make 8 figures at his late age.

Manny Pacquiao is always serious whenever he steps into the ring, he always wants to win no matter what kind of fight it is. But Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the same in his own way, he protects that undefeated record because that’s what he always points to when claiming he’s the best boxer in the world. If he ever loses, it would be harder for him to keep using that argument. Honestly at their current age I don’t really expect Manny to win anymore, but since he’s usually the underdog against Mayweather it still makes me a bit tempted to bet on him.

This is what the fans of Pacquiao have been waiting for, a rematch and there should be no holds barred. It should count as a professional fight for each of them. Pacquiao won't really think of records as of now since he's no longer in his prime but those punches will surely be felt by Mayweather. I just hope that the ring won't become a marathon field for him. Pacquiao really is looking forward for this fight because he has lost against the first fight. If he is this determined and looking forward to this fight, a lot of money is involved here just for Netflix to get these two agree. It also shows that the current batch of professional boxers are unable to generate as much interest as the generations before them. I used to frequently watch boxing when Mayweather,  Pacquiao and Klitschko were active. I used to watch matches involving GGG as well. Even these guys are no match for Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield, who dominated the ring during the 90s. But for the last few years, it has become a bit dull. Current batch of boxers are more into big talk and show-offs rather than focusing on their skills. A lot of the fans do miss the previous generations as a result.

Pro boxing these days got a lot of cherry picking going on. We constantly seeing pro boxers going against each other with a clean record. They tend to build up their record, having zero loses by carefully picking their opponents and then they go up in the bigger stage as undefeated to hype up the match. It's pretty much the same like match fixing.

I don't know if we still can see talents like these 2 guys possessed. But, in this current stage of their career, we will not going to see much like how this series should happen long ago while they're still in their prime.
