Of cause the youths are the leaders of tomorrow but I am not sure is the youth of this generation that statement is talking about , because the real question is are the youth themselves truly ready and prepared to lead!! Leadership is not a thing of age , it comes with discipline, mountain or responsibilities, sacrifice and clear vision. But if you look at the society today, all the youth of this generation seem to care about is to show off wealth, luxury materials and oppress each other on social media with fake fame, rather than build character, influence and impactful knowledge, Power is not just handed over to the next generation on a silver plater, you have to earn or take it through strategy and eternal prepartions, if the youth truly wants the mantle of leadership then, they need of educate themselves, get very much involve in politics and governance and prove their readiness.

Youth becoming the leaders of tomorrow is just a purpuler say am not sure can come to reality in this our present generation that the elders have refused to get old and still think they are children.  One thing I know and believe is that very soon things must come to normal then that saying could manifest but for now i dont think it can  be possible as the outdated and old fashioned set of leaders are never ready to give room for the transfer of power to the young generation that deserves it and ready to live an exemplary life. It is said that new people are given various opportunities to become leaders all over the world, in reality there are very few countries that give this facility to new people. New people will definitely be able to bring better results in any work, but some people think that even if new people are talented, they will not be able to take the wise decisions of the elders. Maybe this word puts new people behind, but the reality says something different. In some countries, despite knowing it, they resort to corruption and nominate them politically. Democracy in many African countries are scam, they just use the name to deceive people while behind closed doors they will decide who will rule their country then the country will have an election which will be rigged in broad daylight and there is nothing the citizens can do about it. They will tell the weak opposition that actually won the election to go to court, in the end corrupt judges will declare the riggers winners in the supreme court, it is very shameful. The worst is that these elite corrupt politicians who are waiting for their turn to rule are all old men who are money bags and they want to steal more and fullfil their dreams of becoming presidents.

The youths are totally cutoff from becoming leaders, they are mostly used as political thugs to rig elections for these old men. If elections are free and fair in most of these countries I'm sure that these old and corrupt men will not stand any chance against youthful aspirants that is why I said that so far elections in most African countries are scams, I can't confidently speak for other continents

I think such words will come from politicians because they do politics. To make real change, the old political systems have to be broken. New leadership has to come. And for this change, a big revolution is needed. Because those who have been in power for a long time will not want to give up power easily, but breaking the circle they have created to maintain power is not an easy task. Leaders they meant does not only concern the president of a nation but are people who are grown to be successful because if being a president is what they saying then how would the millions of youth become a president at a time considering the ruling method of every country. A leader cannot only be found in politics or in government because in anywhere you have people that look up to you or depend on you is also a leading role you are performing but if some persons found there careers in politics and got a leadership positions then is were destiny took them.

Politics has changed all over the world and it's affecting mostly the young Youths who have been denied of involving in the government and using there young blood and initiative to help in the government.
Some years ago we where told that children are the leaders of tomorrow and this was the motivation for young people to go to school and a lot of Young people started entering into politics, but even with the involvement of this young people in the government, many have not been given the opportunity to express there young vibrant strength and knowledge with the recent innovation build resources, empowering people, and also to improve the quality of life style.

Your points are quite valid, but you have to understand that digitization doesn't make someone a good leader/president. I was thinking the discussion was going to be centered around societal matters in general, but you actually narrowed it down to political related matter. First, we have to understand that politics around the globe isn't always as what we pictured. It is way deeper than you think. Influences, power, backings, connections,etc, are practically what is needed in today's world, and just so you know, the older class a very good at building this than the younger ones.

Youths are definitely the leaders of tomorrow, but there is a limitation as far as what I listed is concerned. This thread just reminded me of a current president who has been ruling for more than +30 years _{(if I remember correctly)}. It's a crazy world to be honest.

When I began to look at Africans leaders age, achievements and integrity. I have come to realise that least president of Africa is 70 years and about apart from Burkina Faso that was taken by force. The saying that ''youths are the leaders of tomorrow'' do not actually mean that leadership belongs to the youth. It is just to say that it is the youth who grows into adults tomorrow to lead, so it is more like preparing the youths against the future and not now. It is true that we have seen many world leaders at their old age, but you should understand that most of them have experience of leadership than the youths who only read about leadership in the books but haven't been practical about it. That notwithstanding, i don't think that there is any restriction of youths not to participate in government. Each country has an age limit with which a citizen is deem fit to contest for a public office just that the problem we have in our electoral system is lack of transparency due to corrupt officials who are assigned into electoral offices.

Limited access to many key positions to our youths is the reason why I keep wondering that, did some old people misunderstood that quote and expecting that young people can only get opportunities to become a leader when they also become old like them? That is unfair and it can cause weakness and lack of hopes to some youths.

It is very risky for young people to rule a nation, the stress, sleepless nights, long meetings, and all inconveniences that follows a king is something most youngster won't handle, that's the reason for young people to rule where they can, in businesses, cooperate establishments and good organisations.

The leadership of nations are controlled by the old people, and the reason is that they have a lot of experience that the young people don’t have, and they have been in politics for a very long time and they have a lot of supporters who we always vote for them. These old people are more richer than a young people and so they use everything possible to make sure that they get into power. Youth are not giving chance to lead nations because this old people are not giving them the chance and that is the reason why some countries are backward today, however I’m not saying this affect every country. There are some countries that allow the young people to lead but some countries don’t allow young people to lead which is very bad.
