It’s supposed to be the opposite though. The longer you gamble, the more mature you should become. That’s how it should work at least.

Truly wise word, gambling is purely entertainment and so it should be seen as such, you cannot gamble your way out of poverty. In every sense of the word, cannot gamble your way out, you either gamble for fun or you find some other productive way to get out of gambling. You are right but it's easier said than done, even most gamblers that make sure they set a time limit end up breaking their discipline, in some cases it's as a result of chasing losses or profits. OP, your points are valid, and I must say that most gamblers are not time disciplined and conscious of their stay in casino houses, hence the reason why you see the majority of the gamblers overstay their presence in the casino houses where they gamble, and this is why they record losses that they can not explain how they came about.

You are right but it's easier said than done, even most gamblers that make sure they set a time limit end up breaking their discipline, in some cases it's as a result of chasing losses or profits. Setting time limits isn't the only thing required to gamble responsibly, financial or bankroll management is also important.

Time management is important when playing. It should be followed in order to limit ourselves to not spend a long hours in gambling. I have an example when time limit made person lose money. We were playing poker, a person was leading with chips, however, he was short on free time. When it was time for him to leave, he has started calling every bet and going all-in, because he wanted either quickly lose everything or win.

For me limiting budget is more important than time limit. Before starting, I can not predict how much time I should spend to a) have fun b) time limit wont hurry me with making decisions. Another point against time limit - what should a person do, if he runs out of money, but still have time to play? Deposit again?
