how do these ninja wallets distinguish from the former ninja wallets (released some years ago)?
Great question! In fact, we almost named these Ninja Wallets 2.0. We only released a handful of copper star wallets during their original run in Summer 2022. They were all hand-stamped back then, and many of those stamps were a little wonky looking (double-stamped, lopsided / uneven stamping, etc). Therefore, only a handful of stars were ever released. (We shipped only the perfect stars. The imperfect stars, which were most, if I'm being honest, were either sent to the scrap pile or sold as factory seconds at a steep discount.) Offhand, I'd guess that we only created a dozen or two perfect sets before we stopped producing them altogether. However, we get asked about them quite often. CUSTOMERS: Can you release more of those copper ninja stars? Maybe a ninja throwing knife too?ME: Kunai? Shuriken! (A double-pun so bad, it's wonderful!)The new stars do have a few differences tho. While we use the same front and back main stamps, they are now stamped with much more precision using a powerful, custom-designed, high-tonnage coin press. That means every star is almost perfectly replicated with very little problem pieces. Secondly, the new stars have a milled pocket underneath the holographic security sticker, leaving the sticker dead flat after application. (I need to get some pics of that. Thanks for the reminder!) The original run was pocket-less. Thirdly, the original run did not include the new throwing knife design, which, personally, I love. Fourthly and lastly, we now have three metals from which to choose — yellow brass, copper, and titanium. All solid. All pure. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Regards, Chris@TBPCO

Thanks for the question, CGD. The stickers are not pre-affixed, which allows the buyer to generate their own private keys. However, we do plan to release some buyer-funded, pre-keyed wallets in the near future. (A super cool limited edition project, so keep an eye out!) Thanks again. Regards, Chris @ TBPCO

Great looking items Chris, I especially like the throwing knives!
On the topic of DIY wallets, I would love to see a set of these released already assembled too. Most of us are not buying pieces to actually load crypto onto, so if we purchase a DIY piece, they typically never get assembled and always feel somewhat incomplete with the hologram living off the item. As collectors, even if we never plan on selling the item, of course we care about resale value to a degree and an item with a wallet made by a second hand buyer is never a positive thing, always much better for the wallet to be made by the creator IMO.

What is the delivery estimate on these? Are they built and just have to be put in boxes or is there a production lead time?
Side note having nothing to do with this project, have you thought about doing something with carbon fiber? Was at a trade show and some some swag that was made with it, stuff looked cool.

Good morning, Dave. Thanks for asking about lead times. Most of the metals (copper and brass) are available immediately. Since titanium is much more expensive, those will be made as ordered. (For now.) Normally, that only adds about 3-4 days, so still pretty quick. As for the first few orders (including yours), I decided at the last minute to add fun little free gifts — premium, full grain, leather stars cut from genuine Horween Chromexcel (my favorite leather)! These leather stars are made to the exact same shape and dimensions as the metal stars. The only real difference is that the leather stars are much safer to throw indoors. (And boy, can they fly!) As far as carbon fiber goes, I'd be happy to make a few prototypes. Maybe I can send you one to "test" for us? Complimentary, of course. I'll PM you. Oh, and we're also making 5-Point Stars (as seen in leather below) in brass, copper, and titanium. We simply haven't photographed them or added them to the website yet. They should be available to purchase in a few days. I'm thinking Monday. In the meantime, embrace your inner NINJA with Bitcoin Penny® Ninja Wallets! Regards, Chris@TBPCO PS to Dave: Expect your package of titanium and leather goodness to arrive within a few business days. And thanks again for your continued support!

When preorders are made it is always best to hold the funds in the same currency as received - a lot easier to issue refunds if the funds were never spent or converted.
Sale proceeds should always fumd the next project not the current one - at least my opinion.

Aw, man....everything here looks pretty sweet and I was considering buying a few if I could afford them, then suddenly I came across this in the middle of the thread: So... Another week, still no refund. Bitcoin bank still closed? I know I missed something. What the hell happened? Agree with the first point strongly (though I still don't know what the problem was in this case); as to the second point, I agree to the extent that the last project made enough of a profit to fund another one--but that's veering off-topic, and frankly I just want to know the score here and read comments as to the trustworthiness (or lack thereof) of BitcoinPenny. I've had his website bookmarked for at least 1.5 years now and have wanted to order something at some point or another, but everything seems to be sold out most of the time. If there's a major trust issue on top of that, I'm just going to remove that bookmark.

If there's a major trust issue on top of that, I'm just going to remove that bookmark. Hi, SC. Thanks for asking the question. I'm sure others may wonder the same. The refund that tldr-hodl is writing about refers to one of three long-outstanding pre-orders that we are waiting to either fill or refund (depending on the individual request of those three customers). We hit a hard financial patch about two years ago due to some bad business decisions on my part, and several orders were extremely late being produced and shipped. We've struggled, slowly and steadily, to get out of that hole, and we're down to those last three pre-orders that need filling or refunding. Unfortunately, those last three are taking some time to reconcile, because it's difficult to sell products when you still owe a few debts, and it's difficult to fill or refund those debts without product to sell in order to generate the funds necessary to fill or refund those last few pre-orders debts. It's the classic catch-22. It's difficult, but we're doing our best. Unfortunately, a handful of self-appointed forum cops refuse to acknowledge the many orders and refunds that we've succeeded in making right. They only focus on the few we are still in the process of making right. (Soon, when those last three pre-orders are settled, they will have nothing to complain about and the accusations of deception and thievery should end. However, I suspect they'll continue to complain and accuse as loudly as ever. Otherwise, they have to admit they were wrong about us, and some people refuse to admit a mistake. They hold firm to any accusation they can imagine, such as name-calling me "PayPal Penny" simply because our company accepts ALL mainstream forms of payment — Visa, Mastercard, and PayPal— not just crypto. It really is a bit crazy, but that's life on a public forum.) Regarding your interest in our products and website, please feel free to trust your instincts. If you feel that deleting our website bookmark is the right thing for you, then you should delete it. Personally, I'd be sorry to hear you deleted it, but I'd understand and fully respect your decision. No hard feelings. I promise. In the meantime, have a great week. Regards, Chris@TBPCO
