I don’t care about my win and lose since I gamble for fun but I do track my expenses on gambling since I do want to manage my overall expenses and earnings in general.

I record it and use the data for my general finance report but that’s all. No hard feelings on losses recorded.

But for the record I’m on the loser side.
Many gamblers are on the loser side, only few a on the winning side. But that shouldn’t be any big deal right? I mean, gamblers are meant to lose more than they win right? That’s just the way it should be according to the house edge. The goal of gambling isn’t to completely eliminate losses or up the wins so it’ll be more than the losses. No, the goal is to avoid incurring unintended losses, even if the ratio isn’t balanced, even if you can’t totally avoid losses, just try as much as you can to avoid losing more than you initially planned.

Frankly speaking, I can say that I am in the middle, however, in reality, I am likely to be on the losing side as well, albeit slightly. There will always be the house advantage and eventually it works its way. As with you, I believe that monitoring costs is highly necessary since it will allow gambling to remain in the arena of entertainment rather than becoming a financial issue. In my case, I would not care to win the casino but control my bankroll and practice no emotional decisions. I think that is a responsible method of gambling as long as I do not lose more than I had intended to and I enjoy the process.
Lets just accept the fact that we are that on the losing side and well there might be some gamblers that are really that making up some profits on doing gambling but for sure we are all in the losing side but thats not what we should be thinking at the moment that we do gamble on which whether you are a winner or a loser. What matter most on here is that you are that doing gambling for the sake of fun and entertainment and not that because of making money because this will be making you addicted into it. Always remember that financial status would be mainly affected if you wont be having that good control when it comes to gambling because we do know that once you do deal up with gambling then spending into it is much more faster on which considering that losing could happen on an instant. This is why whenever you do gambler then you should be only spending into the amount that you can afford to lose.

I gamble for fun and I don't count how much I have gain in gambling but I will not force anybody to gamble for fun, because I don't know the reason you join gambling. There are some that joined gambling base on wealth, because they want to turn to a millionaires through gambling and they are ready to be using big money to gamble daily, and it has caused many new gamblers regret for the kind losses they experienced.

Despite am gambling for fun, I can say that it hard for me to experience losses in a week, because there are some tactics am using in daily gambling that is helping me to spend less before my winning will be happening, which is what I will advise other new gamblers to learn.

Reading this thread ( What have you achieved through gambling? ) inspired me to create this poll (in many posts, users indicate that they've gained almost nothing from their gambling hobby). Why? I was curious: how many users (at least within this section) actually gain anything at all at the casino? I'm not talking about the "entertainment" aspect, but rather the financial aspect.

I got the area of your point correctly, and I will still tell you the same thing that we have been discussing in this section were most of us claims that we don't keep records of our past games.

But I don't know... If you mean immediate experience, I am currently at lost.
Loose $20 on 4 tickets in the streak. I can also recall that I made few wins last but I can not keep a comprehensive data of multiple events that had happened shortly.

Most gamblers will eventually lose, and that's the reality for most gamblers. Therefore, treating gambling as entertainment is a wise choice. Play consciously to avoid being controlled by the game, and only gamble in your free time after important things have been prioritized and you want to entertain yourself with gambling, and have enough capital to relieve stress and stop when losing.
And I personally only gamble on weekends and at certain times to relieve stress from the Monday to Friday workday, with sufficient capital that I consistently provide and sometimes I get lucky.

I voted for the last option, “I don’t count my gambling wins.” This isn’t because I entirely consider gambling to be a fun activity, since some days are really not fun, but because I don’t see the need to stress myself over what is already lost. I belong to the group of gamblers who do not like to bother themselves; we don’t count or track our losses. What use is it? Deep down, I know that if I start counting my losses, I will be in deficit by now. There is no use counting what I do not have control over. Maybe the only control would be to take a break after realizing how much I’ve lost.

Well, if he played it for entertainment, then a he does not care about what he lose and what he earn. However, if they are playing it as a source of income, then every loss and profit matters. In that context, I never approached it with the mindset that I would earn from it or choose it as a source of money, I played it only for my entertainment. Sometimes I lost, and sometimes I earned. So if I can give you the ratio, then it would be like 50/50.

Since I don't track my gambling activities but I can do that from the amount I assign for my gambling budget weekly. If I also consider how much I have won, I can confidently tell you that I am at loss at this point. Though, that is not a problem because I know that any money I assign to gambling is gone since it's a consumable activity.

I believe gambling takes more from us that it gives.

Is always difficult to see a gambler as achieve huge in gambling your losing most be higher then your wining. So that is why you shouldn't be using money that we can't afford to lose so that anytime we fail to win he won't affect us because we risk according to our capable. Nothing comes easy and gambling is not a place that you can be generating income always. That is why some people take it as and entertainment because is a game of risk and you can't get guaranteed of wining game that you predicted.

Well from the recent years I have spent gambling, I have realized how difficult it is to always bank on a win, casino dosen't look at anyone's face... Once it's time for you to loose, the lose will come, and if you happen to get lucky, you will get some profits... Since this realization I have always been using little amounts that I know for sure is easier to let go in case of any lose. And in all this while the amount of money hasn't really been consistent, and yeah I don't even really keep track of my win and losses.... Surely there may be times I have won big, but in all I could say that the losses I have made so far has always outweighed any profits I have made.... So in the long run I can't really call my self a consistent winner..

Sometimes it's difficult to overlook losses even when you gamble for fun. You tend to calculate how much you have lost when you go through a long losing streak. Even when you play for fun, you still expect wins because nobody wants to just waste money. But I like the behavior of accepting losses and moving on. And this happen when people see gambling as entertainment. I also take a break when the losses have become so much and I have began to be discouraged.

I stand in the loser (deficit) territory.
Though i try not to think too much about how much i have thrown into the casino and i have lost because of greed or the expectations of gaining more than i started with.
ultimately, my objective is becoming someone more responsible who does not actually care about those losses and only see gambling and casinos as a way to get entertainment in the long term.

Sometimes when people here talk about responsible gambling and who we all are supposed to see all this industry as amusement and not as a livelihood, they ignore that level of responsibility is not easy to reach, it actually requires years of patience and discipline.

Ironically, those who talk about responsible gambling are not strictly the most responsible ones, but at least they are aware of what they are supposed to become in order to secure their personal finances.

Are questions like this necessary? I'm pretty sure that 98% of gamblers lose. Even if we hit the jackpot or massive win once or twice, I'm pretty sure we still lose overall.
There are two things in gambling: loss and win. If you only win, the gambling company will go bankrupt, and if you only lose, gamblers will not gamble and will get bored and quit gambling. Therefore, gambling games are set up in such a way that both win and loss are in similar positions and the loss gradually increases.

But if you calculate the average, the loss is more than the profit in everyone and some can feel it and some don't care about it. Also, it happens that someone can win something big with luck. Speaking of me, I am a loser when it comes to gambling.

If 98% of gamblers lose money, that means there is still a chance that 2% of these gamblers are amongst us and we are not in loss but in profit😁.

Hitting the jackpot is one thing, and when the luck finds you when hitting the jackpot, I’m pretty sure you may sometimes get to recover the losses you’ve accumulated overtime in gambling.

No denying that the vast majority of gamblers lose money. But as long as not 100% are in loss, maybe one should begin to structure themselves better in the game and stand a chance to stay profitable like the few perceage that are profitable.

Some gamblers won't be honest about their results but we all know that it's inevitable to lose if you are a consistent gambler. Personally, I'm under the category of gamblers that have lost more that's why decided to take a step back from gambling because I know that if I continue gambling that way the losses I'll incur will only get worse. Gambling is designed in such a way that those that are consistent will always end up losing. The population of gamblers that are actually winners are significantly lower than those that are losing.

When I gamble I don't check the past losses, I only calculate the recent losses based on the recent initial deposits that I made. Sometimes it s good to overlook your losses because being too calculative of your losses might get you depressed and from their you start chasing after your losses. We all except winning from gamble but we shouldn't hope for it because you might not be that lucky to win. For me I am not even sure if I am a winner or a loser in gamble, most of the time I win though.

If @OP is talking about the entire gambling history, from the 2 Jackpot I got from a single casino way back years ago, I can confidently say that I am on the winning side.  The winnings from the jackpot can take a lifetime to get depleted in reference on how much I use my fund on usual bets (betting 0.1 to 0.2 USD), and assume that that money will eventually be lost.

I will be among the few people who will never count the number of losses or wins made in gambling one day. That kind of thought hasn't occurred to me, to record my gambling takes each time. It has been gambling for the meantime, have the necessary fun, and head home, to come back the next time to gamble as if no money was lost previously that could make one have a sleepless night

In gambling, the losses are much more than the wins, therefore it is only profitable to those that gambles for fun and not for the money in gambling and that is why they always complain of losses.

I don't disturbe myself gambling for money because the chances of winning is so small, so I  gamble with what I can afford to lose and forget about it and if I win or lose no problem.

I am a looser in gambling, and if claim to be a winner then I may be a big time lier. Over the years I have been betting, I get more loses than win. Sometimes I question the reason to my continues gambling or betting, knowing I am losing but one mind usually tells me that what if you quit now and it happens that it was your last chance of winning huge amount that will change your life, and you probably didn't bet it, that means I will become forever poor in my life. This mentality has kept me betting and thinking not to quit because my last day of quiting may be the day if my victory. And I kept decieving myself and losing. If I am being honest, I am a loser and not a winner because my wining can be countable in regards to my loses.

I was thorn between two answers. Because I do gamble for fun, and do not count my money personally, I really do not follow that up, but I also know how much I deposit each month so I am aware of it. Like it is not an automatic thing, sometimes there are places where they credit your account for signature campaign and in that case I am credited by someone else and not deposited by me, but even then I am aware how much is gone because how much was credited.

So while I am not aware in general terms, like not count dollars every single day, I have a general idea of how much it could be and it's basically break even between what I deposit and what I withdraw, sure a small difference but nothing too big for me in this case.

In this poll, I don't mean the number of wins and losses, but rather how much you earned or lost (expressed in money).
Most people that gamble do end up losing more than they win, but most people won’t just want to say the truth, they will always claim they are winning but they just deceiving themselves. One of the reason why I just feel people lose more than they win is that they are always desperate to make money whenever they are gambling, so even when they are suppose to stop gambling, they not really going to stop.

Whenever some people are gambling, they might be winning but instead of them to stop gambling at that particular period, they not going to stop gambling, they going to keep on pushing hoping to win more, which if some are not careful, they going to lose everything which they have won.

I am a gambler, and I don’t always calculate my profits and loss, but even without me calculating it, I know my loss is kind of more than my win.
