Request to Pin: Scam Accusation Posting Guidelines

I am not sure what the criteria are for pinning a post. I have tried from my end by reporting to the moderator, and it seems unhandled. I thought reporting to the moderator would work fine since it previously worked for unpinning. I have written a thread on the scam accusation, and I believe this thread should be pinned for users.

I am mostly active on the scam accusation board and note all the necessary information when I face something. I noticed there are various reasons why scam accusations haven't been solved and victims are repeating the same things. All together wrote a thread as guidelines and instructions for creating allegations.

I don't know why mods think this thread shouldn't be pinned when we can see even a couple of unnecessary pinned posts in various sections. However, this isn't something to give me benefits; probably users would get help from this thread.

In Request to pin a thread in Electrum child board, I was guided by forum members to report any threads that I want to propose for pinning them to moderators. I did exactly like advice and you see that thread was pinned later.

Your report should have already been seen and deliberated on. If the mods thinks that it does not reach the threshold to be pinned or the current pinned threads already contain the information that users will be looking for they will not act on it in this case. Is your report marked good, bad or unhandled?

A thread was created last week requesting that the scam accusation board should be renamed to gambling complaint and then I dropped a suggestion there which emphasizes on how some scam reporters are not following the "Scam Report Format (Use it to make scam reports properly)" that I found among the pin message on the scam accusation board.

Seeing this your topic about guidelines of publishing a scam accusation topic, I felt it's more detailed and should be among the pin messages on that board, the final decision is left for the mods to take but I really like that thread you create. I felt that some people will still ignore the guidelines and post scam accusation in which ever way they like unless mods starts deleting reports that doesn't follow real guidelines.

It has been marked as unhandled still now. I am sure the moderator of the scam accusation is pretty active since my other reports are marked good. But I am not sure if the moderator doesn't consider my post as a pin post. I know users are very lazy to read pinned posts, but sometimes a few users definitely read to know more details about the section.

However, I have done my job by creating a thread and reporting to moderators to pin it. If they don't think it's appropriate to pin, no issues. The thread would still help people, because I will keep it bumping from my end to help others, especially victims.

Well first off thumbs up for your thread it's really interesting and frankly speaking if not for this topic I wouldn't have . noticed we actually had a thread like that and I actually support the thread gets pinned it's actually a really helpful one. However I doubt people actually read these articles before post there.

Most of them go on asking questions that are obviously within lines in the pinned threads especially in the beginners and help board nevertheless that doesn't make yours needless be pinned.

This is a good request that I feel Theymos and the forum moderators should honor because a lot of the times scam accusation posts are rare organized and in some cases, the posts does not meet the standard of a scam accusation posts yet they are posted here thereby wasting everybody's time. Secondly, most of the scam accusation posts are from newbies that may not have sound knowledge of the forum, hence, such guidelines will be handy for them so that their report will be easy to read and comprehend and therefore given the attention they deserve.

You are right. New members don’t really pay attention to the pinned posts. You can clearly see this by looking at the posts made by newbies in the Beginners and Help thread. One thing that often surprises me is when see that the questions they ask things they want to understand, are already explained properly and arranged nicely in the pinned posts. Even after that, many of us still try our best to help them by making separate posts and showing them the important links one by one so they can understand better.

The main problem here is that when someone wants to know something, they usually create a new post without first searching the forum to check if that topic has already been discussed before. If people could take a little time to look through the forum and see whether there is already a discussion about the issue they want to understand then many of the new posts would not repeat the same topics that have already been talked about earlier.

I also support for the post to be pinned to enable beginners or new users to know how to use the proper reporting method to report scams over here.
When you look at the scam accusations you would see that there are people who are not using the proper way of reporting scam accusations on that section which makes everything looks so messy, but when that topic is being pinned it would enable them to follow the sequential order to make a report without just following the unhealthy way of sending reports.

This is a wonderful thread and it deserves to be pinned in the Scam Accusation board.

Well, I have wondered in the past why there's no pinned post in such a controversial board and I have also seen established members telling newbies that they reported with wrong format while there was no pinned sample format.

Although, pinning the post does not guarantee that every new user of the board will read it, especially as the post is somewhat lengthy. However, we still need it for the good users.

Op, you would have created a poll for this, it would have helped the admin to easily decide how the community supports your proposal.

The moderator on the board could be leaving it unhandled for a global mod to deal with it. I do not know which mod is allowed to pin a post but I can guess that it may be a collective decision among more than one.

You have done your part by creating a very detailed thread and reporting it. Great if it gets pinned, if not it can always be bumped often to be seen by more people.

Op, you would have created a poll for this, it would have helped the admin to easily decide how the community supports your proposal.

There’s no need creating a poll for this request because it’s the decision of the mod to do that. The post made by the OP on the scam Accusation Board is a very interesting thread, useful and helpful to members coming to the scam accusation board and such a posts should be pin, and is not something the OP is even suppose to request before getting pinned in the Scam Accusation Board.
The mod in charge of that board is Cyrus and I believe when he comes accuse the post his going to pin it after going through it, because the post is useful, so let’s just hold and wait for Cyrus, his the one to decide if the post should be pinned or not since his the one in charge of that board.

I also support that such thread should be pinned, going forward to the scam accusation board, you will discover a number of accusations or should I call the damn allegations that does not follow a straight format of reporting for scam, that is why some could have been easily judged by their way of reporting to know if they are genuine scam accusation report or not once the follows the right format, I've seen a countless number of reports that have been referred to use the right format, making this your thread also more visible is one of the way to achieve more by getting it pinned.
